Unchecking Photos in system Pref/iCloud is some thing weird

I'm back from holiday yesterday with 3 or 4 hundred pictures and proceeded to download - some were videos while they were taking a while.  Whenever I have download large amounts, it slows down my entire Internet to a crawl or makes it virtually impossible to use.  My wife was complaining of not being able to do anything (which is not good news colleagues chaps!).

By mistake, I went into System Preferences / iCloud and photos not controlled.   Which seemed to fix it for the moment.  Later I went back in and double-checked it and then noticed that suddenly at the bottom of my Photos app, he told me that I was downloading some 14000 photos to the cloud.  I freaked out because this can take forever.  When I have pictures that are not checked in system preferences, he said not that something like this would happen.

Then, out of curiosity, I went to icloud.com to see if the pictures are here and strangely (to me, anyway), all the photos are here.  So why is it reuploading all my photos on the cloud?  At present, it says I have 12 581 picture to the left to download and I suspended him.

Any ideas on that?

Thank you!

Mark

Because ICPL seeks total to keep all synchronized devices and because you have disabled the iCLoud/Photos you can make changes in the library of Photos on your Mac while he was off - the only way what ICPL can determine that each thing is to download everything and compare what is on your Mac which is on iCloud - this occurs whenever you unplug the process or repair the photo library. the best way to solve it slow loading is in preferences break iCLoud photo library Photos one day while you are using the internet and the UN-pause after you are done - and keep your Mac awake all night and let run all night - and BTW the upload and check is usually much faster than the initial download

  • Solution of fast backup, photos of google or iCloud photo library?

Hey there Apple community, im in a bit of a situation difficult and need a few thoughts. My iPhone more than 6 s is fully charged to 64 GB of photos and applications. My iMac is fully loaded with photos in iphoto, Yosemite. I have 10% left in my iMac HD. It won't let me save my iphone. I know I go through my iphoto library and organize and delete some photos and consolidate the events before migrating to the new application photos and then move it to icloud photo library, but I'm very limited on time in the next few months and won't be able to do. I wrestle on a quick temporary solution for backup, but don't want to spoil or lose my precious photos and other data.

But this is what im thinking, tell me if this would mess things up.

I would like to either temporarily back up all my photos on Google photos for now from my iphone, and then when I'm ready, I'm going to migrate my iphoto library all on my imac to the photo library to icloud and then transfer my photo library from google to the photo library icloud (but not sure. If it works Someone at - it experience with google pictures and Mac?).

Or I simply activate the iCloud library of photos on my phone while it backs up my current pictures on my phone last year and then optimize my storage on my phone. Then a few months starting now to migrate my iphoto library 268 GB of Photos app on my iMac running Yosemite and then migrate the library of Photos in this same icloud photos library that I opened a few months back from my phone (I understand I will pay $10 per month for the size of the library). I feel like the latest one is the best option, but I'm not sure if I do it my icloud library won't sync and consolidate properly because I started with my current pictures on my phone and then brought in my library of photos together for the last 5 years at a later date. How do you think any community?

Why not get an external drive and move the photo library of the computer to the outside. If successful, you can then remove the library on the computer, or just keep it as a backup.

  • Download Photo on phone to iCloud

Hello, I'm new to iCloud, and I tried to download photos from iPhone to iCloud photo library, however it is still pending, on the phone, he said 'Uploading 74 items' However, this message has been waiting for almost 2 days, sometimes I had to find a small section has been uploaded in the library, just like 15-20 items. I still have my wifi, and the phone is fully charged and still charge. But it does not help. Try to disable the function of Photo Upload and restarted, does not.

My question is in what condition is iCloud start working? and how can I push iCloud to work?

Thanks in advance for the help.

    Hey Ho_Jai,

I actually spoke to AppleCare Support on this issue this morning.  Apparently this is 'normal '.  It seems that photographs cannot be uploaded via cellular data to a library of iCloud.  Only in wi - fi.  This is commonly known as "fruit".  Apple thinks they are smarter than us.  They are preventing us from using our cell phones and creating data of surpluses and then getting angry at them for that.  What they ignore or do not take into consideration is that we are not as stupid as they think we are, and in fact some of us have unlimited data plans.

Which is very misleading, is that if you go to settings > cell phone and you've given them cell phones under tension (that you do. Otherwise, why would you have a smartphone).  You will see in the list of applications that 'Photos' is an option (which of course is on.)  This would believe you that you explicitly give permission to top device and download photographs more cellular data.  Alas, this isn't so.

  • Can you explain the storage of photos on iPad and iCloud?

Ok. I am train faced with a problem of storage on my ipad mini and the growing number of picture about it.

Here's a look and would like to receive some advice from someone.

    1. I have a mini iPad with 64 GIG storage.  Even after the reform of programs I'm running out of space because of the number of photos that are on the machine.

    2. I have icloud with 200gig storage.   All photos of the iPad mini transfer automatically to the icloud account.

My question is...  Why ipad mini said that 20 GIG of his countenance is taken over by pictures, when all photos are up in iCloud?

Second question... How in the name of the gods can reduce the amount of space your mini takes iPad to photos without deleting off icloud?

Finally... Am I wrong to think that if I keep taking pictures with my iPad mini, it will simply run out of space (even if I have a 200GIG on icloud)?

Bonus question does anyone else have this problem?

Unfortunately, iCloud is not designed to work where you can remove photos from your devices and hope that they would remain in the cloud.  # Once that remove you it from the appliance, remove yourself from iCloud as well.  In order to save space on the device, go to settings > iCloud > Photos > optimize iPhone storage.  Alternatively, you can opt to choose a third-party application like Dropbox, Flickr or Google Photos (personally my favorite).

Well, you have to take a lot of photos/videos for this level of 200 GB.  Remember, iCloud and storage of your iPhone are two different things.

    No, not yet.

Then I plan to move photos Photos to a USB key, and then import them into lightroom on the pro.

On your phone, go to settings > iCloud and make sure that you have downloaded all your photos on your phone. Then click on "disable the iCloud photo library." But even once, make sure that you have all the photos uploaded to your Mac computer or your iPhone.

  • My button "use as photo of system library" in photos is dimmed and I can't select.  Any idea on how to solve this problem?

I found that photos must be defined as "use as photo of system library" in order to be able to have the clickable area in FCPX to then import media from him.  However, when I go into the photos to do, this box is also grayed out.

Looks like the library is already defined as the library system.

You have problems using the photo media browser?

You use photo stream. Photo in the cloud stream keeps photos for 30 days, this could explain things.

-If so, I can arrange the provision in the way I want? What happens if you want to convert my old (iphoto ios log backup) to import (iCloud Photo Sharing) that it is?

-If not, what is the new equal to that with the possibility of transferring these journals?
