under the Privacy tab address bar, do not remember settings

Since Firefox 16 and 17 versions are out, I always had this problem with the location bar to not remember my choice. "When you use the location bar, suggest: nothing." Is what I prefer, but if I never reboot my computer or just restart firefox over all, it boils down to the option "history and bookmarks. I find this very annoying. The reason why I've waited so long to report that it is because I was hoping the next version of Firefox would take care of it. Is what I can do to fix this or I will just have to wait until it is set by Firefox itself?

Unfortunately, that didn't help me. I have advanced and uninstalled Firefox completely without saving any customizations, and reinstalled. Seems to work fine now.

If start you Firefox with the new profile (to be sure, follow the instructions in the last link above shortcut to a specific profile or launch Firefox from the command line, check out this link: command line arguments - sometimes I had to use -profile instead of Pei or it wouldn't work), you can try other things is to restart in safe mode ( Firefox button--> help--> restart with disabled modules) or maybe disable hardware acceleration (Options-> Advanced-> general-> uncheck use hardware acceleration when available)

  • I used to be able to type the url under the Privacy tab specific tracking cookies, but this possibility seems to have disappeared, why?

Under Tools > Options > tab personal life, until recently, there was a cookies button allowing you to type in a list the URLS of specific tracking cookies that you want to block. If all antivirus scans are all these cookies, I could add to the list. This is a great option. It seems that list and this option no longer exists. Why

For all the history and Cookie options, select: Tools > Options > privacy > History: Firefox will be: "use the custom settings for history".

  • Firefox 23.0.1, update is no longer automatically highlights the contents of address bar when I open a new tab.

The foregoing. When I opened a new tab in the past, before the new update, firefox would automatically highlight the text in the address bar, and I couldn't just start typing here the address of the site that I wanted to. I could quickly get anywhere I want in less than a second. Now, I need to drag, and then click on in the bar every time to address. I installed an add-on called "custom newtab", but it slows down just me lower due to a lag between opening a new tab and the add-on kick and highlighting the contents of address bar.
    What is happening is this:
    Click "new tab".
New tab opens blank, and the text appears highlighted "google.co.uk" for about a quarter second.
Loading the Google page and highlight the text becomes not for another second quarter.
The module comes in and highlights the text "google.co.uk" Meanwhile I have already started typing and end up losing the first part of words, sending me random web pages and research.

    Why this change? Difficulty please!

Hi ChrisYeomans, a change has been noted in other threads on google.co.uk

The http URL now automatically redirects to https. Since you did not specify the Protocol in your newtab.url setting, Firefox attempts http and it is immediately redirected to the https domain. You should be able to see this happen unless your computer is much faster than mine.

Firefox does not handle this redirect elegantly - the URL in the address bar is not enabled unless you click a different tab, and then click back.

To work around the problem, update your newtab.url to the URL https://www.google.co.uk/ full

  • Address bar does not open current tab URL COMPLETE

The address bar does not show the current tabs URL COMPLETE. I tried the Trim URL thing nothing helped. It is also one that there is no option to COPY the LINK in the file menu. I need to be able to view the full URL and be able to copy for a variety of reasons. Would also be nice to make sure that I am on a HTTPS page and don't have to guess.
Take a look at this site and see that no matter what you go to the page, the URL remains the same.

Really want to know the reason that FF out of the combination, what is the problem or the issue or was it just someone's idea of a nice piece of code?

If you are on a secure connection HTTPS, then you will always see the https: Protocol. Only the http: Protocol is hidden.

If a page uses frames and other pages are open in a frame, then you will not see this picture link in the address bar.

You can right click on a web page to see if images are used (this frame > view frame info)

If your settings for brightness and contrast are wrong then you will see only the field highlighted.

You can set the pref browser.urlbar.formatting.enabled false on the topic: config page to turn off the development of the field and to better discern the full URL.

  • The address bar does not appear the URL of the page

When I open a tab, I don't see the URL of the page that is open in it. If I enter a new address and press ENTER, I go to the page. The URL displays the entered URL, but does not change for new pages that load.

In addition, previous/next buttons do not work. I'm guessing that it is related to the issue of address bar.

  • Address bar does not work since the new update?

With the recent update of firefox, I can go is faster to Web sites by typing in the address bar. I used to be able to type something simple like "face" and he could give me options to choose from such as: facebook.com.

Now if I can't even click the drop down arrow for a list of my most visited sites. How to re-enable this more useful features?

On the Tools menu, select Options to open the options window. "" Select the Privacy tab and make sure the setting at the bottom of this dialog box for the location bar "when you use the address bar, suggest" is set to "history and bookmarks.

Another possible cause of the location bar no longer works is a problem with the file that contains the history and bookmarks. See http://kb.mozillazine.org/Locked_or_damaged_places.sqlite for details on setting

I had to have the GEEK Squad to work on my computer. I had to re-activate windows because he said that it was not genuine, so I made . As I was checking the 'Mozilla Firefox Privacy Settings for Cookies set' I did as he said.

       Open Firefox

Click on the Tools menu and select Options

On the Privacy tab, ensure that Accept cookies from sites is selected. (Note: if you do not see this option, then consult Mozilla Firefox Help for instructions on how to enable this view)

            • This is where the problem is. On the display of the Privacy tab, there is no option that says make sure that "accept cookies". As you can see in the parenthesis, it says if I don't see this option, see you. Could you please tell me what to do? Thank you.

  • Safari address bar does not work after last update 10.11.3

After Jan 22 10.11.3 update, Safari bar only displays address of active Web site.  Trying to navigate or search fast by typing in the address failure bar.  No result of the action.  Only recharge functions icon to reload the existing page.  Anyone else see the same?

When you open a new window, the address bar works as it should.  Once a page Web (URL) has been surfed the address bar no longer works correctly.

Hey! Take a look at this. This temporary has helped a number of users here. Over time, everything should be resolved then wait for a while.

A possible solution to the problem of address bar: disable the Safari Suggestions

If you have problems to open Web pages, take a look at these techniques proposed by Apple of troubleshooting.

    https://support.Apple.com/en-us/HT204098

Go to the Safari menu (at the top right of your screen next to the Apple icon), choose 'Quit Safari'

Press the "Shift" key and while holding this button on your unique keyboard, click the icon of Safari on your Dock.

Open Safari - Preferences - Privacy - data to remove any Web site.

Open the menu to go with the Option (Alt) key - library - key locate Safari folder and place it on your desktop. Restart your Mac, open Safari and delete the file from your desktop.

    Also, try the following steps:

    Restart your Mac.

    Try to start:

    -Stop your Mac

-Wait until your computer turns off and after that press the power button

-Just after you hear the startup tone, press in and hold the SHIFT key

-Release the SHIFT key when you see a gray Apple sign and the progress under this sign bar

-Once your Mac boot, restart dhcpd as you usually do.

  • Firefox address bar does not work

I recently updated my software Kaspersky of Kaspersky Internet Security Kaspersky Total security, 2015 at around the time that Firefox automatically updated from version 35 to 36. I don't know if the update of Kaspersky has nothing to do with the problem, but now the Firefox address bar does not work. I've 'come down' Firefox to version 35, but it still does not work.

You can add a URL in a window of the Firefox window (Firefox or Google) search engine, and that works, like clicking on the hyperlinks that appear. But the address bar is totally dead! The address in my browser Google toolbar also works OK

I hope that someone familiar with the operation of Firefox knows how to solve this frustrating problem as I prefer Firefox Google.

    Thanks for the help.

  • Address bar does not not in Safari

My address bar does not work properly in safari, I can't click on it and enter the address manually, which is quite annoying. I deleted the plist of safari in the library but still no luck. Found a temporary solution to http://osxdaily.com/2016/01/05/fix-safari-freezing-address-bar-use/ that is to disable the functions of smart search which solved my problem, but is there a way that can solve the problem without disabling these features? I use a MBPR 2012 with El Capitan and never had this problem before.

Has't Apple has yet published an official commentary or difficulty with this problem, so for now the only solution is that you mentioned in your message.
