Understand the diagnosis - hardware/storage

Just ran a report system on my MacBook Pro 2011 and admit really, I don't understand what the reports but am a little worried to see Toshiba comes in diagnostics for hardware/storage. Macintosh HD shows in the logical volume group, but physical Volumes as it shows

disk0s2 with a device name and the media from TOSHIBA. This is maybe quite normal and I just never noticed it before; However, I am now worrying that maybe I was hacked? How will I know what it is? Could we have a flash drive I used in the past but is no longer connected?

  • Understand the marker data storage

If I import a camera in project source element and give him some pointers, how do I get these markers to stay with the clip as well as if (months) later if I import this camera clip media source file in project B, the markers that I previously applied appear?

Where is this marker information stored?

Is there a correct workflow to ensure that it is still the case?

    Thank you

No official documentation that I can find. If you Google ' first 'element marks' xmp ', you will get some shots that could be instructive.

Hello out there! I am trying to understand the relationship between the products. I am a current user of 13 items and sought to CC Photoshop with Lightroom. Always use elements like the storage tool to catalog my photos or it get replaced?

It's kind of ridiculous. All I want to do is ask a question and there is no place to connect with anyone. Sucks!

    Hi charlesf,

If you choose to go to CC Photoshop with Lightroom, Photoshop Elements would not be replaced.

CC of Photoshop and Photoshop Elements are different programs, so the two will remain separate on your machine and catalogue items would not hit at all.

Let us know if you have any other questions.

    Kind regards

VM have been storage vMotioned to another data store, and now I have 3 VM with white "!" inside a red square and I want to understand the cause of this.

Can you try to make a vmotion host and see if it gets resolved? If not, can you close the virtual machine and start again? I have seen this problem before and a stop and start resolved.

  • Help understand the storage of the Photos on disc with Icloud

My hard drive is to the maximum of storage, even if it seems that I'm optimistic and I have 200 GB in I cloud storage. I'm trying to free up space on my hard drive, but it seems that if I delete the photos on my drive, it will remove them in I have cloud as well. That *. Is there a way to get around this? The goal is to get them off the coast of my drive hard, but since I was so unused space on Icloud, simply use it as storage and download the photos if necessary.

    HELP Please?

    Thank you-kevin

If use you iCloud library then you have a single library that is shared between multiple devices and modifications (additions, edition or deletion) on any device are made on all devices - if this isn't what you want then do not use ICPL - it's easy

If you turn on optimize pictures on any device with storage limited as space is needed more small and smaller version will be used locally — reports are about 10% of the original

There is no option to iCLoud for storing pictures he only

You can use a disk external hard locally for storage is your storage space main is not 9 suitable for Photos, it should be in Mac OS extended (journaled) format and connected locally with a fast connection required

  • To better understand the SRM

We have 2 sites, each site, we have 4 ESX servers and on each site, we have a Clariion CX380 but everything is run by a single Virtual Center. All ESX servers are on the same VC data center. Finally, we have 2 physical sites that we have succeeded in one site.

I know with the MRS, we need two VCs, one on each site, but we need two data centers in VirtualCenter? Why I ask this question is in fact we use MirrorView/S sync LUNS and we have LUN will concern because we cannot display the mirror and lun mirrored with the same uid when all the ESX servers are managed by a single CR.

Can RS we manage this for us?

    I hope I'm clear with my problemhttp://communities.vmware.com/images/emoticons/confused.gif

    Thank you

First of all the current version of MRS. can't a single VC use case, so if the customer doesn't move on this one there then you cannout currently using SRM. It has many disadvantages in terms of DR to use a single VC, so reason why SRM architecture uses two.

When you have two SRM of the VC can work active / active and by that I mean you can have two production datacenters each replicating to the other, each acting as DR to another in the event of a site loss. SRM supports this configuration.

From my experience of VMotion between sites with more current VC25/ESX35 never really gives you a lot in terms of use cases since it is really an option for customers which is DC are close together and even in this case you end up with is a virtual machine running on a site that is accessing its virtual disks at the other site not that desirable. Another point here is what to do with this way of working, you should also have areas of SAN that accepts the LUNS are accessible on the sites and also potentially beyond safe limits.

Granted, I can see some obsucre use cases you want to to be able to vmotion VM on the site but nothing which makes it really interesting architecture this now, ok one day you might want to vmotion all around for the other site while you perform a hardware upgrade of hugh, but there are other ways this round with storage vmotion which give you even without interruption... Go ahead there is much more to come that will make vmotion over distance, a closer integration with the most interesting storage replication.

When you're right, now I think that the more important thing to establish is that it really your customer wants, is it simply a solution allowing them to run two production DC so they don't have standing kit slowed to a place? If yes then MRS can do for them now in a configuration active / active. I find lots of customes think they must cross the vmotion site without really thinking through and without thinking about the implications for things like vCenter design, such as:

The VC inventory / layout, be careful with the design, because everything is tense, to be very consistent and accurate with conventions of naming across all objects of inventroy will use the virtual machine

DRS/HA settings, ensure that you know which VM is important and set the correct settings by VM for recovery. Unless you have N + 1 reserve capacity on each site, you will need to set up the parameters HA/DRS that highlight the most important line of the first VM and not end up in a situation of failure with all your virtual computer online dev/test and half the production of 'Down' of the VM because you have not set the correct priorities in HA. In SRM, it is something that the descriptors of recovery plan and you can control.

Half brain, if you run the two sites as a big cluster HA/DRS ensure test you different failure scenarios, for example if the DRS (or manual VMotion) moving a bunch of VM is site1 to site2 but no failures that took place at that time there will now be left with contexts of CPU/memory/network of the virtual computer running on hosts to Site2, but accessing their VMDK on site1. This will work but is not always desirable from a perspective of latency (maybe no problem if enough bandwidth) However, what will happen if you suffer now Site1 disk failure, at this point the VM will not crash immediately Site2 and HA will take awhile to achieve those VMS have a problem. Try it and see, if you disconnect the storage for a virtual machine, the virtual machine will cling to life (assuming that IO is normal) for some time before a blue screen appears.

Presentation of storage, if your customer wants the area sites to actually be 'open' to all ESX hosts, then check that understand you the implications of the ESX LVM parameters with regards instant / will of the disc. You will potentially have ESX hosts that might at one point access to a source and target LUNs at the same time if someone or something to change LVM default settings. As we discussed earlier, with architectures of SRM this is handled by RS as the SRM architecture, you would not have this kind of open area.

Zoning by-law if the vsan / zones are truly open or guests as well then as certain events of fabric can be a potential pain. No event of thugs this RSCN disrupt both sites at the same time if all ESX hosts are on the same fabric open so be careful here. Not something that is too often but I have seen hurt some customers, usually comes down to bad HBA or cable can be a real pain to track down.

VC / limits ESX, you build out of campus cluster design ensures the design will you quickly to reach the limits of what she has supported this concerning things like the maximum number of machines virtual/VC, max number of LUNS/ESX host, max number host ESX/lun/paths etc.

  • Difficult to understand the name of netbooks Toshiba

It is difficult to understand the designation of toshiba netbooks for beginners is this prefix after etc. 500 550 nb-113 110 tell us about the battery? What is the best?

Thank you and sorry for the bad English. What battery keeps arround 10 hours? Why NB305 (money) is more expensive than 500?

Each Toshiba laptop inside has Toshiba label with basic information.
It is written to the first name of the model: for example NB500-113
Then you can see the number of pat s notebook: for this Satellite is PLL50E-xxxxxxx.

Generally two numbers don t say much but for your info:
The model name is depending on the country. For example, NB500-113 may be available only in Germany, but you won't find it in Spain. In Spain we NB500 - 22H. If the two laptops have the same reference number that designates two of them have identical hardware platform with identical inside hardware components.

Toshiba NB500 offers three different numbers - PLL50E, PLL60E and PLL5ZE. With other words, you can buy NB500 with three different technical facilities. It is also possible that one of them will be offered in your country. It is defined by Toshiba s marketing strategy.

What you need is good info on models available in your country. Please visit the support page of Toshiba for your country http://pc-support.toshiba-europe.com/ and option computers laptops & Netbooks.
Compare all available models and look for info on equipment and the battery.

I hope you now understand how it works. :)
If you have any other questions you are welcome.

  • understand the flow of photos from iPhoto library photos vs vs

I just transfer a bunch of photos from an external hard drive in my iPhoto library.  I created several new Albums right here.  The problem is that my photos are not displayed when I click on the Photos icon on my menu bar.  Also new albums and photos will appear not on my iPad via the photo stream.  I don't understand how the 3things: I picture library, photos, photo stream, work-sharing app.  How to do all of my albums (and the photos in these albums) duplicate in all (or appear to) all my devices?

Migrating from iPhoto to a Photos library library affects only the photos in the iPhoto library in time. Photos and albums added to the iPhoto library after that will be in the iPhoto library unless you also import the photos into your photo library and set and fill albums.

Albums are not spread through my photo stream, only by iCloud photo library.

The new model is of approximately:

    * Use only the Photos app and the library of Photos on your Mac (s). After the initial migration, ignore iPhoto and its library.

    * Use iCloud photo library as the repository ignoring my photo stream unless you have devices that don't support icloud photo library (for most older iPods). You may need to increase your storage plan iCloud to organize all your photos and videos.

    * Use the Photos app on your iPhone (s) and iPad (s) with iCloud as library active. Again, my photo stream is necessary only if you have devices that don't support icloud photo library. You can use the option "optimize storage' to save the storage space on your iPhone (s) and iPad (s).

  • Impossible to uninstall "ITE - other hardware - storage Device UMass (1336).

    My system: XP SP3

Bought a Rosewill RHB-320R 7 Ports USB 2.0 Hub with power adapter and fine installed using the built-in driver of XP.

Saw & installed "ITE - other hardware - storage Device UMass (1336) ' in the hardware section of WIndows Update.

(Should have left alone well enogh but Oh no.)

Then got a BSOD, which I think was due to the new driver.

Then tried to find the update in Add / Remove programs and not him is not even with "Show updates" checked.

Tried uninstalling in Device Manager but it will simply install the same driver.

So my question is how I uninstall the update of the original?

    Suggestions appreciated.

  • using the WSSD as storage additional 15-j171nr

    2 related questions:

    1. I replaced my HDD with a SSD. I need is no longer the WSSD as a cache acceleration. The WSSD can be reformatted to be used as an additional 2 of 24 GB for storage hard disk?

    2. If the answer to the first question is in the affirmative, can I switch to 16 GB of ram without problem? I have read reports in this forum where people have had problems with the help of more than 8 GB of ram with the WSSD. but since it is no longer a cache for the HARD drive and just storage it should be ok right?

Yes and Yes. The WSSD is displayed in the disk management console? It appears in 'computer '?

See Page 43 of the Service Manual for the location of the WSSD:

Open the console Intel Rapid Storage of Windows and see how the MSSD appears here, if so.

I have a 17 envy which I think is essentially the same hardware you have. In order to "unmask" the drive of the WSSD 24 concert and make it available to Windows to format and mount as a lettered drive, I have to go into the BIOS F10 and disable "secure starting" and enable legacy start. Then at the start, you are greeted with the BIOS level configuration tool RAID Intel. You have defined the 24 concert on non-RAID drive, and then restart the secure boot and startup in Windows 8 and the drive of the WSSD should be visible in the disk management console to format and assign a drive letter.

The limit of 16 gigabytes of RAM upgrade applies only if you use the WSSD as a disk cache acceleration. So feel free to add RAM even with the current configuration. 24 GB of storage is not much, so you might be better off to just remove the MSSD and set aside in case you want to use.

Post back if you need help more with this.

  • I'm building a Windows98SE virtual machine on a host OS to Windows XP Home using Virtual PC SP1 (with the fix for XP home). Do I need to install drivers for the emulated hardware?

As I understand it, all hardware is emulated (that is, it 'sees' that which is emulated, not the physical hardware in my computer: sound card, motherboard, etc.), correct?  Here's my question: do I need to install the motherboard drivers, video drivers, or the audio drivers for the emulated stuff.  In other words, even if I have an Athlon XP 3000 + processor on an ASUS motherboard, do I need to install the drivers from the motherboard with the chipset emulated by Virtual PC?

You have no need track down all the drivers.  They are installed automatically.

  • Photosmart C7280 will not communicate with the network. The diagnosis says that the Radio does not

Photosmart C7280 C5582A work through a MacBook via a Mac (OS 10.5.7) wireless router was working fine last week.  Today when I tried to print, the printer was stuck in the "printing page 37%.  When I checked the Print Manager, the printer was "slowed" and since I had a lot of trouble with this printer connection before losing, I did what HP told me the last time which was to remove the printer and then recharge it.  Except that this time, once the printer has been deleted, he could not find the printer even after I restarted the wizard and reinstated the SSID and WPA many times.  I have reset the printer and the router by turning off and disconnect power provided, but he still had the same problem.  When I ran the diagnosis, he told me: 'Pass on Radio, Radio work on failure, not plugged cable Ethernet-Pass' the rest of diagnosis is "not run" and other data on diagnostic tests are the Mac addess.  The Diagnostic says the "wireless radio does not work.  Contact HP support.  Unfortunately, it's evening Sat and HP support is closed.  Any help or is this printer dead?  (I spent a fortune on ink cartridges)

It is indeed a hardware problem then.  I'm sorry.

I always believe that repair costs would be better put towards buying a new printer.

However, there may be options that I'm not aware where do not have access to.  This document has some support listed options.

However, I recommend you contact HP support at the 1-800-474-6836 (to the United States and Canada).  Phone support can provide that more than an estimate on the repair or replacement of the printer with HP and you could compare this with the cost of a new printer.

A new printer is under warranty and most likely to be an improvement on an older printer.

  • How to change the location of storage

Hi there, because CP programs take too large capacity storage on my main drive, I tried to change the location of storage in which programs are installed, but I don't understand how to do it again. Could you help me?

    Change for Applications installation location

With the application of CC open, select the gear icon in the upper right, and then choose Preferences.  In the preferences of the screen select creative cloud and then look for the drop-down list installation location

If you want to change the location of a program you have already installed, you must uninstall and reinstall after you change the installation location.

  • Help understand the 'Editing Local' option in the volume of the App Manager

Any body can help me understand the "Local Assembly" option in Volumes App Manager?

I want to know if I activate this option, what effect to my environment and I can see this effect? Thank you.

What is happening here is that Appvolumes will check on what data store, the VDI is located and attach this data store Appstacks (if appstacks are in this data store).

It is only of use if you have a storagegroup with mutiple data warehouses, otherwise it will always choose the 1 appstack you have.

This is mainly done to make sure that you don't have to much traffic of data between servers and storage.

  • Understand the RDM?

I just post because I have trouble understanding the principle and operation of the RDM

Car if I understand it, this is a mapping of a normal linked storage OUTDOOR unit a file to the local drive of the ESX VMFS?

Question but my large, l ' unit OUTSIDE of storage Mapper en RDM must it be l ' ext3 or NTFS?

    Thanks in advance

The file system of the RDM depand of your guest operating system disk, view what you not normal a vmdk, all of the volume of your disk file is normal view your VM and is formatted by it. This mainly allows to make under Microsoft cluster with nodes located different ESX 2 or allow the possibility of recovered data from an old server or on the contrary of "be able to participate on a physical server data."
