You insert your CD/DVD installation of Windows XP and in the pop-up window, find the link that allows you to add and remove programs from windows and turn off the backup utility. You can also use it to remove the other windows programs you want

I'm not on my XP machine right now but I'm quite sure it's "tasks to Perform additional windows?

I have Toshiba Portege R500 with Windows 7 Pro connected to SBS2008 field. Some time ago, I changed my password of domain, utility prints password digital (FPU) asked for the password, but after that I put it it says that the password is incorrect.

I downloaded Windows6. 1-KB976972-x 64.msu Similarly if chipset in my computer does not match the known as KB article (i.e. NVIDIA USB EHCI chipset). The update wouldn't install, stating that it "update is not applicable to your computer.

I bypassed the problem by making the backup with the external hard drive plugged into a USB2 port, rather than the port USB3.

Please tell us how do I use my player/port USB3 to make backups

    Thank you

So backup Windows works using a USB 2.0 port, but does not work using the USB 3.0 port.
    Is this right?

In this case I n t think that MS knowledge base article update would be useful here. Also, you receive the message that "update is not applicable to your computer. This means that it is not compatible update and not the right solution for you.

It seems that more people have a problem with USB 3.0 and Windows backup and this doesn't sound like a hardware problem of problem but the software.

I found this thread in the Microsoft forum:
    http://goo.GL/MOEZD

the guy has a laptop from another manufacturer and the backup of USB 3.0 does not work but it works using USB 2.0 ports.

  • Backup Win XP does not recognize my external hard drive

Windows XP Backup Wizard does not recognize my external hard drive and does not list it as an option for storing backups.  I suspect a registry problem because the backup wizard previously recognized this drive and saved on it several times before I was running ARO 2012 for cleaning the registry errors.  I can always open the player in windows Explorer and see the files it contains, but Explorer Windows XP now lists the drive as an "expansion disc" instead of a 'removable disk '.  When I right click in windows Explorer and open 'properties' for this drive, it shows it as a 'local disk' instead of a 'removable disk '.  The drive is ok when I click the button 'Remove hardware safely', and it reports "safe to remove hardware" after I click on "USB storage device - Drive (J :). ».  Help!

Who did.  Thank you!  Now... I used Aero2012 to clean up the errors in my registry that's because my computer is desperately slow, especially when you start (8-10 minutes) and also with internet explore (move cursor to previous typos when you compose a new e-mail message).  Is there a safe way for me to speed up my computer?

  • Win 7 - cannot restore some files from a successful backup

I recently bought a new laptop with Win7.

I managed to restore all my important files to a backup of my old computer which was under Vista.

When you try to restore my emails from the old vista computer, although I can see the files in the backup file real (using the tool of restoration provided by Win 7), after the execution of restoration, it is said that the restoration was successful, but the records seem to be empty and that's why I can't download my old emails to my new computer that represents a major problem for me.

I noticed that, well I can see the folder Windows Mail in the file backup using the restore backup Win 7 laaredj, the folder that corresponds to Windows Mail seems to be on a color much clearer than the other files, however, if I double click on it, I can navigate and see its contents, but nothing is restored.

Can anyone help? I would certainly appreciate any ideas, I tried to recover individual files, the entire file, one together records, tried to use different locations for the restored files but nothing seems to work. All other files in the same backup have been restored without problem.

    Thank you!

    Hello

Check if by chance the folder you are trying to restore is hidden (as you say that the folder is located in a color lighter than other folders).

    To verify the folder property

    (a) right click on the folder

    (b) select checking properties of the attributes.

Try to restore the folder on another computer and check if it is successful.

    Hope this information is useful.

  • Win 7: cannot access my external backup drive origin

    Hello

I use 500 GB external drive USB3 (WDP) Western Digital passport as my backup disk

At first, I backed up my OS Win 7, on the new PC, I could find my WD E drive easily whenever I plug it as it's the only drive.

After that, I used WD passport to backup Win XP from another PC with the size of the 25 GB drive only.

The backup software has created a new drive for me G

After the WIN XP back, when I plug the WDP to the new PC Win 7, I can only access the G drive and E drive where to save the Win 7 OS. All new, the backup cannot be done to drive G and not e.

For your information, I couldn't have any problem starting Win 7 of the WDP. The Win 7 OS backup disc E seems to be hidden somewhere.

Can I know how to change the default drive to drive E to the future back to the top of the documents?

    Thank you

    Low

    Hi there,

-Are you sure that you do not overwrite E: with G: drive?

  • Re: Satellite C660 - 1 CL-wireless button do not work running 8.1 Win

    Hello

my wireless button does not work. I have windows installed 8.1,
I have vap and installed flash cards and still does not.

    Any suggestion?

As much as I know the Satellite C660 can't win 8.1
This means that the drivers and Toshiba tools are not released to win 8.1.
I think you can use Win 8.1 but be aware that there is no guarantee that you can use all the features of the special specifications.

    > I have vap and installed flash cards and still does not.
I doubt that this is correct since VAP don t exist to win 8.1
Toshiba system driver is the successor of the VAP in case you use Win 8.1

However, try to install the driver of Toshiba and Toshiba function Key Utility system to win 8.1
You can download this software that has been released for other series like Sat C870 for example.
