Uninstall a plugin program

I am an avid baseball fan and have been watching the games on my laptop via TV MLB until very recently.   I downloaded a plug-in called NexDef.  Since then, I watch is no longer the games as before.   The games are herky jerky and start and stop all the time.   I want to uninstall the plug-in but can't find it in the control panel.  I am running Windows Vista Home Basic Edition.   I looked under programs in Control Panel, but it isn't here.   When I look in my Start Menu upwards, it is according to Start Up, but when I click on it nothing happens. What can I do to uninstall it to see if that's why I post is no longer as before baseball games?

Hi Saulfarms,

To know how to remove a plug-in, please follow the steps below.

1. Click here to open the Windows Media Player.
2. press the ALT key on the keyboard. the options of the Menu bar will be displayed.
3. click on the Tools option, and then select Plug-ins in the menu dropdown.
4. Once you highlight the Plug-ins select click on Options.
5. in the Plug-ins tab, go ahead and uninstall the NexDef plug-in by clicking on the button Delete.
6. exit and restart Windows Media Player and check if it works very well.

I would like to know if it works.

  • Impossible to uninstall a plugin

I seem to have several suspicious Add-ons in the plugin/panel(under appearance) category that I can't seem to remove. any help? as a delete button hidden?

    Hello thegoodman.

You cannot delete the plugins from Firefox. On the right you will see a menu drop-down, you can change this to ' activate ' to "never activate", which allows to disable the plugin.

To remove a plugin, you must go to Control Panel->programs and features and uninstall the program that added the plugin.

Since you mentioned that the Add-ons are suspicious, you might want to search for malware. Take a look at this article Troubleshooting Firefox problems caused by malicious software

Let us know if that solves your problem.

  • Cannot uninstall the old program, reinstall, or remove the folder

I bought this home edition of XP used from Lady in my building.  His father-in-law was.  It has the older version of mozilla firefox here since 2009.  In the Panel of control-add/remove programs-it will not uninstall.  I tried to click the icon for it and it will not open.  I tried to delete the file and receive error message: access is denied.  I went on the site and can not download the latest version either.  What should I do now?  It does not close also.  It restarts after said save setttings and stop.

You bought a computer with a preinstalled operating system or just the OS and put it on a computer that you have ever had?

    Search for malware:

Download, install, execute, update and perform analyses complete system with the two following applications:

Remove anything they find.  Reboot when necessary.  (You can uninstall one or both when finished.)

Search online with eSet Online Scanner.

The less you have to run all the time, most things you want to run will perform:

Use Autoruns to understand this all starts when your computer's / when you log in.  Look for whatever it is you do not know using Google (or ask here.)  You can hopefully figure out if there are things from when your computer does (or connect) you don't not need and then configure them (through their own built-in mechanisms is the preferred method) so they do not - start using your resources without reason.

You can download and use Process Explorer to see exactly what is taking your time processor/CPU and memory.  This can help you to identify applications that you might want to consider alternatives for and get rid of all together.

Do some cleaning and dusting off this hard drive:

You can free up disk space (will also help get rid of the things that you do not use) through the following steps:

Windows XP should take between 4.5 and 9 GB * with * an Office suite, editing Photo software, alternative Internet browser (s), various Internet plugins and a host of other things installed.

    How to use disk cleanup

You can disable hibernation if it is enabled and you do not...

When you Hibernate your computer, Windows saves the contents of the system memory in the hiberfil.sys file. As a result, the size of the hiberfil.sys file will always be equal to the amount of physical memory in your system. If you don't use the Hibernate feature and want to reclaim the space used by Windows for the hiberfil.sys file, perform the following steps:

-Start the Control Panel Power Options applet (go to start, settings, Control Panel, and then click Power Options).
-Select the Hibernate tab, uncheck "Activate the hibernation", and then click OK. Although you might think otherwise, selecting never under "Hibernate" option on the power management tab does not delete the hiberfil.sys file.
-Windows remove the "Hibernate" option on the power management tab and delete the hiberfil.sys file.

You can control the amount of space your system restore can use...

    1. Click Start, right click my computer and then click Properties.
    2. click on the System Restore tab.
    3. highlight one of your readers (or C: If you only) and click on the button "settings".
4 change the percentage of disk space you want to allow... I suggest moving the slider until you have about 1 GB (1024 MB or close to that...)
    5. click on OK. Then click OK again.

You can control the amount of space used may or may not temporary Internet files...

Empty the temporary Internet files and reduce the size, that it stores a size between 64 MB and 128 MB...

-Open a copy of Microsoft Internet Explorer.
    -Select TOOLS - Internet Options.
-On the general tab in the section 'Temporary Internet files', follow these steps:
-Click on 'Delete the Cookies' (click OK)
-Click on "Settings" and change the "amount of disk space to use: ' something between 64 MB and 128 MB. (There may be many more now.)
    -Click OK.
-Click on 'Delete files', then select "Delete all offline content" (the box), and then click OK. (If you had a LOT, it can take 2 to 10 minutes or more).
-Once it's done, click OK, close Internet Explorer, open Internet Explorer.

You can use an application that scans your system for the log files and temporary files and use it to get rid of those who:

    CCleaner (free!)

Get and install the hardware device last drivers for your system hardware/system manufacturers support and/or download web site.

  • How to uninstall a plugin Camera Raw?

I bought an Olympus OM - 5 d Mark II and downloaded Camera Raw plugin 9.1 on Photoshop CS6 (on PC). Now, I realize that 9.1 is not compatible with the CS6. Photoshop CS6 has always been able to upload images, including the raw files from my Nikon D800. Now, CS6 doesn't download all images of the D800. I tried to locate the Camera Raw plugin 9.1 to uninstall, but it does not appear on the list of programs to uninstall. plugin 9.1 is indicated on the Camera Raw 7.0 plug-ins list. How can I get rid of Camera Raw 9.1 and return to the default value of Camera Raw 7?

Not sure I agree that the Camera Raw 9.1.0 plugin is compatible with CS - 6.

I've just loaded Adobe Creative Suite Production Premium Version 6 in new PC, Windows 8.1.  Also have 5.0.2.4 bridge and the Camera Raw plugin 9.1.0.441.  Bridge will not load several images in Photoshop layers.  My old PC has even CS-6 except there Daddy Camera Raw 7.0 and it works very well.

  • I managed to stop annoying popup windows from amazon today by the uninstall of a program called firefox maintenance. Was this spyware or software legitimate?

I started getting pop ups very recently (oct 2015) I went to the Panel and programs a characteristic and class list install by date. At first it was one that I distrusted, maintenance on a hunch and firefox decided to uninstall it. I made the right choice - and how this program type of spyware/adware on my computer.

Hi, there is a legitimate program called Mozilla Maintenance Service, which in your programs, should show the same under Firefox version number - what is the Service of Maintenance Mozilla?. If that's what you mean, it would be not responsible for pop-ups advertising. If it is really "Maintenance of Firefox", then I would have certainly considered with suspicion.

You can check your settings pop up here - the Blocker settings, exceptions, and troubleshooting.

If the problem persists, you can try these free programs to search for malicious software that work with your existing anti-virus software:
