For example, if you currently have Money 2006 installed on your computer, you should be able to open a Microsoft Money 2003 data file.

  You can download and install the trial version of Money Plus. You should be able to restore the backup file.
  Once that the backup is restored, make a backup in this edition of Microsoft Money. Now, install the Microsoft Money 2003 and you will be able to restore it.

  I don't remember the log in detail for my Net Passport, and the link to the creation of a new Passport does not work.

  The term "net passport" was removed a long time ago.  Then it was the ability to connect to multiple sites using a single email (username & password).  The name of this concept is now a MIcrosoft ID.

• Microsoft Money sunset has failed and damaged my files

  I live in Australia and use Microsoft money since 1995.  Last version I was using was 2005.

  I thought it was probably time I looked at the installation of the version of sleep in the Sun.  He warned that it could not operate outside the Australia but hey I might uninstall and reinstall right?  Evil.
  The version of sunset the Sun would not work so I uninstalled.  I uninstalled all versions of Money.  I've used RegClean.  I turned the PC off and back on.  I have re-installed Money and... it says my file "cannot open... maybe because it is read-only or you may not.  It is not read-only.  It is not open, so cannot be locked.  It does not have a password, but I used that.
  Any ideas - it's 17 years of financial data upward in smoke.
