• FDMEE - add the Application Options

  Hi guys,.

  In classical FDM, you can add additional options for adapters by going to Options, right-click, select the Option Add... You can then fill your new option whose value and use it in your scripts.

  Does anyone know if it is possible to add similar options in FDMEE? For example, a logical place to add a new option would be in the tastes of the Application Options, Application settings or system settings.

  Any ideas how to do this?

  I think that I have faced this issue, but has not had time to research this subject.

  I suggest that trigger you a request of development for "adding custom options.

  Which option you are trying to add? Is the option at the system level? or for the locations?

  I was wondering what is the standard way to backup / restore application options (scenario: options backup to memory card, the user reinstall OS, reinstall app, restore options)

  I would rather not put up my own encode / decode routines if possible.

  I've seen several approaches used in real-world applications:
  * csv like data file
  * binary storage (Berry, weather)
  but I'm not aware on how they have been implemented.

  Any ideas / suggestions?

  as you have already discovered, is not an entry in the menu to access applications installed in firefox for android yet - but you can however access by typing on: apps in the address bar & remove the apps downloaded from there.

  There is no need to uninstall anything, both devices will share information and that there are no 'master-slave' logic on Firefox Sync. All devices are identical.

  There is nothing to specifically for this purpose in the api, at least not before JDE 5.0.

  In JDE 5.0, there is a new interface CodeModuleListener and a new CodeModuleManager.addListener method. I don't know if it would work, but maybe if your app was still running in the background and registered as a CodeModuleListener, it could detect when its own modules have been marked for deletion.

  I guess, even in 5.0, if the application is not running at all there is no mechanism for fire and send a notification that it is about to be deleted. It's really what it takes, in my humble OPINION.

  The files are not deleted on uninstall.

  You can try and set up a CodeModuleListener or add an application which will remove your files once your original application has been uninstall.
