  WordPad is built into Windows, it cannot be uninstalled.

  Looks like you just need to have the Word set as your default program.

  3. make sure the "always use the selected program" is checked on the bottom of the window.

  4. click on OK.

  This type of file should always be opened in this program.

The list is gone.
  So when I click on one of the documents stored in the document library list, that he does not attend the Word Pad at all, but rather, the unwanted app appears in front of the document library, list of blocking and cannot be deleted.  Only when I go out the document library he disappears with the window of the document library itself.

  WordPad is a pretty basic word processing application and, therefore, contains no refinements such as the number of words etc. However, there are free alternatives that you might like to take a look at. One such alternative is Apache Open Office: https://www.openoffice.org/download/index.html
