The problem may be caused, if there is a miss match the IP address configuration. Then I suggest you to release and renew the IP address. For this you can see the steps below.

Release and renew the IP address of your computer:

    1. Go to Start, click all programs and open the Accessories.

TCP/IP defines how your computer communicates with other computers.

To make it easier to manage TCP/IP settings, we recommend using automated DHCP Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (). DHCP automatically assigns Internet Protocol (IP) addresses to the computers on your network, if your network supports. If you use DHCP, then you don't have to change your TCP/IP settings if you move your computer to another location, and does not require DHCP allows you to manually configure the TCP/IP settings, such as domain name system (DNS) and Windows Internet Name Service (WINS). To enable DHCP or change other TCP/IP settings, follow the steps mentioned in the link below:

    Change TCP/IP settings

1 are you referring to upgrade advisor?

    2. what happens when you start the laptop?

    3. you receive an error message?

    4. What is the version of Windows installed on the computer?

  • Outlook 2010 has stopped working after Windows updates

November 11, 2015, my desktop, operating system Windows 7, installed about 28 updates to Windows. When I then put running the computer and open Microsoft Outlook 2010, Outlook closed almost immediately and this message appeared: "Microsoft Outlook has stopped working. A problem caused the blocking of the program works correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available. "(I don't check other office software).

After the problem with Outlook 2010, I rebooted the computer several times and each time has experienced the same problem with Outlook 2010.

I used system restore to restore the system to before the updates of Windows, which included a critical update. Outlook, then worked correctly. I changed the settings for Windows Update to "Never check updates" so that Outlook is not yet damaged.

Was it something wrong with the Windows updates?

The problem was solved when Microsoft released a revised version of the KB3097877 update. Maxwell Joseph, moderator of the Forum Microsoft, announced this in the post, he created at 23:22:03 on November 12, 2015, on the thread titled "update KB3097877 crash.

  • Windows Update uninstalled audio output? (Conexant HD)

I'm running a Pavilion DV9700 with Vista Home Premium. Windows decided to do an automatic update this afternoon and I now no sound. When I move the mouse over the tray icon, I see "No Audio output device installed. It was working perfectly before this update.

Here is what I tried (and results) and try (reason).
I can't update the driver for a device that is not installed.
I searched on hard disk for Conexant, audio, player, sound. Unable to find anything that will help you.
I thought to uninstall updates... but there are about 40 of them, and there must be a better solution.

I can not deal with no music... any advice would help.

BTW, I already said the system can perform automatic updates, but that's another debate for another day.

The update removed somehow the audio device. I tried to download and reinstall, but kept running into problems with the installation. My system did not create (first time I ever saw that) restore points, so I had nothing. I ended up restarting in safe mode and perform Windows Update setting, then reboot back into normal mode, and he's back.

  • Quicken uninstalled after Windows Update

After running Windows Update and install the updates, I discovered that Quicken software I had installed and used on my PC has been uninstalled.

My OS is Windows Vista Premium
After installing updates with Windows Update I couldn't see Quicken to control panel > programs
    The Quicken desktop icon disappeared
Quicken has been removed from the start menu
My Quicken data and some (but not all) of the program (x 86) files \Quicken files were still intact

I installed 15 updated 11/1 and 17 updates 31/10. Many have been associated with MS Office, but a few were related to Windows Vista.

Is this behavior (Programs uninstall) a bug in Windows Update?

I would like to avoid that from happening. Any suggestions on how to prevent?

    Hi sshostek,

Welcome to the Microsoft Answers community.

This behavior is not a bug in Windows Update.

Download Quicken manually and install it.

To avoid this kind of behavior try to install the updates in clean boot mode.

Follow the steps to enter boot mode:

    1. click on start, type msconfig in the search box and press ENTER.

If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password, or click on continue.

    2. in the general tab, click Selective startup.

    3. under Selective startup, clear the Load Startup items check box.

    4. click on the Services tab, select the hide all Microsoft Services check box, and then click Disable all.

    5. click on OK.

    6. When you are prompted, click on restart.

    7. try to update your computer now.

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/331796 . In addition, refer to the section on how to restore your computer to a Normal startup mode

    Hope this information is useful.

Let me know if it worked.

  • Problems with Windows Update after uninstalling SP2 (Vista Home Premium)

    Hello, everyone!

Two days ago, I tried to install SP2 through my Windows Update. During the installation and then restart, it stopped on step 3 (0%), ignored and open Windows normally. But, I realized that I had totally lost Aero (I didn't even have the option in the window color and appearance), and also Windows Update constantly gave me the message that I always important updates - SP2 has not installed correctly (I rebooted the computer several times to try to resolve this problem, but everything remained the same: stop on step 3) ", running Windows, and once again the message that I've updated important). I searched in various forums, but could not solve the problem, so I decided to uninstall SP2 via Control Panel. But it doesn't let me do that - whenever I clicked on the button uninstall, it says that the installation is not finished yet. So, I tried the system restore, but whenever I clicked it, an error message (that I didn't understand at all) appeared. So, I went into safe mode and tried the system restore and it worked (Control Panel uninstall option does not in Mode safe either), and everything is back to SP1. But now I have problems with Windows Update - I get the error message 0 x 8007002 (and even 0 x 8007005 several times). I tried everything I could find in the forums (the thing with automated updates service does not because I don't have this option in Services), but nothing works. If anyone has any advice whatsoever, I would be really grateful for that, because I don't know what to do.

For safety, I use NOD32 anti virus, Tall Emu Online Armor and ThreatFire.

    Thank you very much!

    Hi EvanaZgb,
Thank you for visiting the Microsoft Answers forum.

I would say to first disable the anti virus and other security software. Then proceed as follows:

    STEP 1
    ------------
Download and install the latest version of Windows Installer
To install the latest Windows Installer, visit the Microsoft Web site at the following address:
    http://www.Microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=5A58B56F-60B6-4412-95B9-54D056D6F9F4&displaylang=en

Step 2 now try to update again and post back with the results
    ------------
Cleanup, utility to download and install the Microsoft Windows CleanUp utility. To do this, see the Microsoft Web site: http://download.microsoft.com/download/e/9/d/e9d80355-7ab4-45b8-80e8-983a48d5e1bd/msicuu2.exe

Now try to update again and post back with results
