  You don't need to install CS3 at all - unless you really want to. All that is needed is CS6 installing. It will ask you a serial qualification in the upgrade process. If you offer your activations, then call support, otherwise there is no requirement for this.

  On the old machine, you must first disconnect disable the subscription to this machine and then uninstall applications if you no longer want to use the apps again on this machine.

  Uninstalling a previous version of elements doesn't change anything on your image or catalog files.

  It may depend on which version of Photoshop, it is.  If this is a standalone version as CS6 or earlier, then you just need to open this application on this machine and choose Help-> Deactivate.   If it is a creative cloud installation then you must disconnect the Desktop Manager.
