Unknown device after upgrade from windows 7 to windows 8

My laptop is a Pavilion m7 1015dx

I just upgraded to windows 7 to windows 8 and everything went well. Now after installing all the drivers updated for my particular laptop, I have a unknown device in my device manager.

The hardware Id are:

ACPI\VEN_HPQ & DEV_6001
ACPI\HPQ6001
* HPQ6001

I don't know what it is or a driver for it.

No matter who else knows it or know what this device and where I can get a driver for it.

Much appreciated!

Hey thought I'd tell someone on the Microsoft Answers site found the driver. It is the wireless button driver.

Here is a link for the driver:

    Hello:

You have given us all the information needed to answer your question, but the model number of your PC.

Go with your model number and the driver page and download and install the driver of ENE CIR Receiver for windows 7.

If you can't find this driver on the driver and support for your model page, use this one and see if it works. It should be.

These are the modem and the features of com of your compilation in the 3G module.
Unfortunately the drivers are not available on the European download page now.
I guess it will take a few days until that pilots will be released.

  • In the 8.1 Fusion after upgrade from Windows XP Pro to Windows 7, the NIC cannot connect to the net.

Looking for the right place to post, so if my post does not belong here, please let me know where.

    The problem:

Updated to 8.1 Fusion Fusion 7 where I had a Windows XP Pro. After the merge upgrade I have upgraded to Windows 7 and followed the steps in the video by Stephen Gardner based on "upgrading a virtual machine VMware Fusion of Windows XP to Windows 7 (1015396).

After the removal and the reinstallation of the network card I have no network connection.

I tried to disable the Windows Firewall on the virtual machine and I gave permission to Fusion App and start App to run in the Norton Firewall on Mac.

I uninstalled and reinstalled VMware tools and tried different settings for the network card, but nothing gave me the connection to the network

Anyone else has this problem, or can tell me how to fix?

    Thanks in advance.

Fusion 8.1.1 upgrade solved the problem.

  • After upgrade from Windows Vista to Windows 7 get error 0000 when turn on computer

I've recently updated my Windows from Windows Vista to Windows 7. Now, whenever I turn on my computer, I get an error message that says ERROR 0000. How can I fix this and what it means? I tried to get help online, but my ID is not recognized. Can someone help me?

You could try a few things first, check the Action Center in Windows 7 for all possible solutions (click Start, type: Action Center > press enter).

Then you can also try repair your installation of Windows 7:
    1. Insert the DVD of Windows 7
    2. restart your computer
    3. When asked if you want to boot from your DVD player, do it.
    4. Select your language, click Next.
    5. click on "repair your computer".
    6. Select the operating system you want to repair.

If the problem persists, try these other suggestions:
    Click Start
Type: CMD, according to the results, right-click CMD
    Click on "Run as Administrator"
At the command prompt, type: sfc/scannow

This will check for any breach of integrity

    Restart your system

Check your hard drive for errors:
    Click Start
Type: CMD, according to the results, right-click CMD
    Click on "Run as Administrator"
At the command prompt, type: chkdsk /r
When you restart your system, your computer will be scanned for errors and will try to correct them.
