Unknown devices shared on the side bar of the Finder

Quick overview of my MacBook:

MacBook Air (13 inch, early 2015)

OS X El Capitan 10.11.6 Version

So I just moved into my place of residence of the school, we are provided access to the Wi - Fi connection for students. When I connected to the WiFi, peripheral unknown begin to appear on the "Shared" tab after a few minutes (which could be peripheral other students also connected to the Wi - Fi connection)

Should I worry, as if they can see my browsing history? Or they can browse my device?

Is there a solution to the 'non-shared' to all of these devices? (The context menu does not show that delete all option device or something similar)

Thanks in advance and sorry for the bad English.

They can not see anything on your Mac and may not even be aware that your Mac is there with them.

These computers only send messages on the network to show you that they are there and you can try to communicate with them.

You have sharing services turned on in sharing the System Prefs? If this is not the case, they don't see you.

You can remove most of them by turning off computers Hello in the sidebar of Finder preferences.

I suspect you suspect correctly. It should not affect the security of your Mac at all.

I tried to get with it, but I couldn't find anything, you know what?

    Hi friend

theres another post with the same question:

    http://forums.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=31190

the discussion is about this device. I guess this could really be something like the HARD drive acceleration sensor (the sensor that parks the disk heads HARD when the machine is moved faster then usual).

Maybe then it's a device that can be left since you won´t get the drivers for it. Another good option would be to google for this error...

  • Tecra A7: Two unknown devices after installing the OS Win

    Hi all
Recently bought an A7 and was convinced all the preinstalled software Toshiba slowed things. Managed to fresh install windows, then use Toshiba Apps Installer to restore items that I really wanted to. Everything went well and the computer is about two times faster now. However, I have two following unknown devices:

    (1) device type: other devices
    Location: on Intel(r) 82801GBM (ICH7-M) LPC Interface Controller - 27 b 9
    Hardware ID: ACPI\IFX0102

    (2) device type: other devices
Places: On system compatible ACPI Microsoft
    Hardware ID: ACPI\TOS620A

I installed the latest Intel Chipset drivers and no luck. Perhaps one of them is the sound card (although I have installed the drivers as well) and one of them HARD drive Protection (that I have no intention of installing anyway).

If someone can confirm what they are it would be much appreciated.

    Kind regards
    Christin

    Hello

Installing drivers and utilities Toshiba should be made in the right order.
The chipset utility must be installed at the beginning and then the common modules.
You must use the form chipset the Toshiba site.

The Tecra M7 also supports the protection of the HARD drive. Normally you will find it at the last position under "Audio, video and game controllers" in Device Manager.

I found this document Toshiba how to identify an unknown device:
    http://support.toshiba-tro.de/KB0/TSB57014E000QR01.htm

    Maybe it helps.

  • Unknown "PC servers" in the Finder

My home network is running on an Airport Extreme. We have two MacBook Pro, El Capitan, an old iMac G5 running OS 10.5.8 running, a Hello networked laser printer, wireless printer/scanner, a smart TV and a booster of "micro cell" signal for my mobile phone.  There are three shared devices appears in the viewfinder of my old iMac G5 which identify themselves as "PC servers. Two of the three devices use names that are variations of the name of MacBook Pro to my wife: ' * 'Macbook Pro'.» The names of the two devices are "jjmacbookpro" and "MacBook-Pro-b0ae. The third aircraft has the identity "npide8e69. I added a picture of the relevant section of the finder window.

Showing my ignorance of networking, I fear that this "PC servers" are robots, or something similar, that have infected my wife's cell phone. Thoughts? How can I identify what are these servers 'PC '? When I highlight and choose "Get Info" there is no information other than "kind: PC Server.

    < published by host >

This should be completely harmless. MacBook to your wife has probably activated and in this file sharing through smb file sharing.

You can go to preferences-> sharing on this computer system, click file share, and then click the Options button and see if it looks a bit like this:

The server 'PC' is just the mac using files on smb. You can disable this option if you wish, or restrict access to specific users on the mac accounts.

  • Unknown devices appear on the network?

Hello. I just bought an E900 and I make TVs and phones on the network, which i haven´t connected. They don t appear in the DHCP list, and I've changed the SSID and password and restarted the router and the PC. They do or see when running - an arp. As soon as I connect my old router that these devices disappear and Don t appear again until I have plug the Linksys. PC is clean, antivirus and anti-malware.

It also seems that the Linksys forces my G930 to reconnect, that didn t happen with my old router (Belkin F7D2301 V1).

(Until I got a TP - Link TL - WR941ND V4 that reconnects, who was one of the reasons why I've changed for the Belkin.)

    Any ideas?

    Greatings

    Ammageddon

    Hello Jay_D.

I just tried again. Factory reset the router again. Changed the SSID and password in a totally different frame then seized. I even changed the Routername. Always get devices in the network.

Devices to disappear and reappear again after a short period. However, that TV Bravia disappeared and hasn´t again, phones are still there and now I even got a few Phillips TV showing. The TV only I have is a Toshiba, and doesn´t even have a network card.

  • Unremovable Server shared in the finder.

For a while now, I've noticed something a little odd with my finder window, we have this strange username under the "Shared" section Now that I've used the software as Hamachi and LogMeIn client before, but everything I try I'm somehow not able to remove this annoying one shared source.

Now whenever I try to connect to this server, or anything really, I seem to be unable to create the connection. I uninstalled Hamachi, but I had a problem with the menu icon and now his party (so I hope it's a positive note) Unfortunately, this a shared source echoes on my network and I can pick it up on my MacBook too, I have the slightest idea of what is, and I'd love to rid my computer of this identity is unknown.

Any help would be massively useful,

    -Rookie.

My guess is that you have a Wi - Fi network, if yes, this machine is simply one that is within the range of Wi - Fi. Your machine is secure and you can ignore what you see.

  • Portege M440 - Vista problems: problems of Bluetooth, the unknown device and tablet.

I just installed Vista on my Portege M400 and installed all the drivers on the driver Vista page.
    But I have several questions...

1: bluetooth does not work. I can't find anywhere in Control Panel whatever it is on a connection bluetooth or something else.

2: after you have installed all the drivers on the driver Vista page, there is 2 "unknown device" in Device Manager. I can't find any information on what are these devices. However, when I tried to manually install the driver bluetooth on the first of them "Unknown device" he admitted the driver. This does not work on the other. And it does not solve the problem of the bluetooth missing.

3: the tablet itself feature works very well - the pen and everything. But when I turn the screen into tablet mode it does not change the screen layout. Or the buttons on the lower part of the screen to work.

I hope that there is some sort of solution to these problems - and that someone can help me.

    Concerning
    Jonas Hermansen

I am also very interested in these drivers because all I know Toshiba Vista drivers are not available at this time.

  • Satellite U500-115 - unknown devices after the Installation of Win XP

    Hello

I just installed Windows XP on a Satellite U500 - 115 (PSU5EE) and cannot get rid of several unknown devices in Device Manager.

Before to install the operating system, I changed settings AHCI in the BIOS to Compatibility-Mode (IDE), so I don't need to inject the SATA driver during installation.

    These are the unknown devices:

    ACPI\PNP0C32\1 (location: Intel ICH9M LPC Interface Controller - 2919)

    ACPI\PNP0C32\2 (location: Intel ICH9M LPC Interface Controller - 2919)

    ACPI\PNP0C32\3 (location: Intel ICH9M LPC Interface Controller - 2919)

    ACPI\PNP0C32\4 (location: Intel ICH9M LPC Interface Controller - 2919)

    ACPI\TOS6205\2 & DABA3FF & 0 (location: System compatible ACPI Microsoft)

Of course, I installed driver chipset and graphics driver from the toshiba download page, but the unknown devices are still there! Can you please tell me what kind of driver I need to install ACPI devices - and get rid of these unknown devices?

    Thanks in advance,
    Hans

    Hello

In my opinion the unknown devices belongs to the SATA interface controller and these appear as unknown device because you have installed the XP compatible mode.

Try to install the Intel Storage Manager driver.

ACPI\TOS6205 device can be a Bluetooth device.
You must install the battery Bluetooth to get rid of unknown device.

    welcome them

  • Satellite Pro L670 - 18F PSK3FE Webcam works become "unknown device".

The * webcam * on my * Satellite Pro L670 - 18F PSK3FE * who is running * Windows 7 64 - Bit * a well worked until this week. My notifications bar started to say * "unknown USB device" * and when when I went to use the webcam it no longer worked.

When I disabled the webcam in the BIOS the notification has stopped, but when I turned it on the notification came back again to the top. The unknown device is clearly the webcam.

I updated my BIOS and tried the system restore.

I also downloaded the driver for the webcam of http://uk.computers.toshiba-europe.com/innovation/download_drivers_bios.jsp?service=UK and have tried running that - + but it NEVER seems to complete the installation. + I have will continue to try to reload the driver and see if that helps, but from now on, I do not think that the pilot will help.

If it is just a driver problem, someone could suggest how to get the driver to install really :-(

I am now at a loss. I'm not sure what to do now. Suggestions?... + Please! +

    Hello

Unknown device means that the driver is not installed.
I think that the installation of the webcam driver should fix it.

As face recognition also use the webcam, I recommend you to uninstall this tool as well as the older version of the software of the webcam.
Both (or just face recognition) should appear in Control Panel-> software

Now download both applications to the driver page.
Start with the installation of the webcam driver:
    (1) unpack the webcam driver package

    (2) the TC30049700N.exe may also be decompressed (right click-> extract here)

    (3) now you should see different files exe, dll, and others attempt to run setup.exe to start the installation. If this does not work, go to Device Manager, mark (webcam) unknown USB device and install the driver pointing to the folder that contains the files of webcam driver. The system should automatically recover dll files.

    (4) restart the laptop and follow with face recognition software.

    Good luck

  • Satellite A200 - Webcam disconnected message 'unknown device '.

My integrated webcam has stopped working. I downloaded and installed the latest driver available (Chicony 1.7.115.0213) but still does not work the camera. When I run the software assistant camera it tells me that the camera is disconnected. On the other hand, there is a notice from Windows telling me that there is an unknown USB device (Port_ #0001.Hub_ #0002) which I suppose is the camera. I tried Googling the issue or search in this forum but I have no answer. I would be really grateful if anyone can help me find a solution. Just in case, here is my PC details:

    Satellite A200-1DY
    Intel® Core 2 Duo
    Code: PSAE3E-01F00GSP
    Windows Vista Edition Home Premium
    Service Pack 2
    32 bit

    Hello

    > On the other hand there is a notice from Windows telling me that there is an unknown USB device (Port_ #0001.Hub_ #0002) which I suppose is the camera

Yes, it could be the internal webcam.
Seems that the driver has not been installed correctly.
What to say; first remove the old webcam software from the system.
Then clean the operating system using a tool like CCLeaner, for example.
After that, go into Device Manager and remove the unknown device.
    Restart the unit.
Reinstall the webcam software and check if the device has been recognized again.

  • Satellite L550-11th - Webcam appears as unknown device

    Hello

I got my reinstalled (Wwindows 7-64 bit) L550.
Now, the webcam is shown as "unknown device".

The software on the page of Toshiba, that I installed it. Unfortunately, your camera is still unknown in Device Manager.

Solution / or possibly the ' INF '.

    greeting
    D.Kuben

    Hello

The webcam driver v 1.1.1.4 is available on the page of the Toshiba driver and it should work properly.
Did you check in the BIOS in webcam settings is enabled?
    Please do this first!

    BIOS-> Advanced-> Control Panel

If the webcam is enabled, make sure that Win 7 value added package has been installed before the webcam software.

If that does not solve the installation problem, I recommend to try a newer version of the software of the webcam that is set to the most recent series of portable Satellite
