  I have a XP box with a few applications I want to do in a virtual machine.  I have ESXI free running with several local and virtual machines and the data of the network store.   I installed the converter version 4 and could not convert the PC, so I uninstalled and installed version 3 with the same results.  I have attached customer newspapers and converrter of the last run.  If I look at the process on the area of conversion and customer ESXI, I can briefly see the vm name pop up in the list, and then he disappeared when the error in the conversion box

  You seem to be getting a failure when creating the virtual machine.  Converter 3 and 4 work the same way, that they submit the request for vCenter/ESX to create the virtual machine, as required.  I have seen where an initial conversion has failed once before or another conversion was at the same time, and we had to restart the running converter (Server source and converter) before the lock system was released on the data store.

  No can not copy con MVWARE CONVERTER una Máquina virtual an ESXi environment. The current situation are the following:

  -ESXi-01 Servidor con discos local con una Máquina virtual con Exchange:
  125 GB virtual disco (Disco C: 25 GB - Disco D: 100 GB).

  -REPLICA ESXi-02 Servidor con discos local con una replica (VMWARE CONVERTER) of the Máquina virtual Exchange than realizó habitualmente sin problemas.

  -El disco D of the MV of change to esta quedando sin espacio. Debo nao enlarge. VOY was the MV y creo UN segundo virtual Disco of 30 GB. Entro en el to the MV y en el administrator of clubs, realizó lo siguiente. Convierto en el disco-0 dinamico (discos logicos C y D) y los 30 GB al disco D. TODO OK momento agrego.

  -Name necessary ampliar mas los discos C y D para el futuro y realizó lo siguiente:

  Comentar than aunque teoricamente el tamano del archivo en mi entorno esxi esta limitado a 256GB, el fichero generated in origen (ESXi-01) y tambien en destino (ESXi-02) are 262 GB. ESO if, yo it solo asignado al virtual disco 250 GB.

  No en you estoy following del todo lo estas intentando realize vamos por partes:

  • The virtual disk solo Máquina-virtual tiene a con 2 particiones. Esto are asi?

  • Otra opcion en TR of're volver a clonar Máquina sin x the size of los discos pero doing that each n is convierta en un nuevo disco y este momento el unico disco esta generating problems are el D, una las options are directly ampliar el tamano del disco (siempre y cuando los don't discos sean different y no UN disco unico particiones) y luego con diskpart mover n hasta el final del disco

  Cannot find anything on your error. It is sometimes better to install standalone converter locally on the server that you are trying to convert. Then run the converter locally on your virtual infrastructure.

  I have a question where I can't use vmrun.exe to control my virtual machines hosted on VMware VirtualCenter.

  First a few technical details of my system:

  My client is running Windows XP service Pack2, given MS powershell installed and the SDK Software VMware VIX.  I downloaded (with the default settings of IE 7) certificate of the host of the virtual machine and stored in my folder of C:\VMware-Certs named computer.cer. I also set the environment variable to include the path to the vmrun.exe file in the folder "C:\Program VMware VIX". Please note that all the components are the last versionssince, it has been downloaded and installed earlier this week.

  My host is running VMware VirtualCenter 2.5.0 build 119598 using the defaults (according to my owner of the network), which includes that it is running on port 443.I have checked using IE 7 to connect to the server and get the opportunity to see the Web page of the VMware Server. However, I think that the behavior of the Web page is a bit special. First he asked me for my personal certificate, that I don't have and I click OK.   I finally found the guilty service.

  It was pcmonitor monitor/remote control software. Once I stopped it is service vmware converter could get the capacity of the physical drives.

  It is rather curious because I made several servers P2V conversions using this software (so far the last one two weeks ago - the difference between that server and this one was that the first was not a domain controller).

  I'm under vmWare converter version 5.0 and I'm trying to convert 5 hosts vSphere ESX 4.0 host. The converstion was fine but then it failed with an error

  I tried to restart the conversion but geeting a following error after hitting the button 'Finish': a general error occurred: unknown internal error. I tried to change the settings, then select same different volume to copy the virtual machine but error stil remains. I enclose the diagnostic logs. Someone has an idea, what happens?

When opening a disk on the data converter store tries to create a temporary file in tmpdir. Error code 3 means "path not found" and it is reported when for some reason the temporary directory could not be created. It should resemble vmount-temp\vmware-logX under the temp directory curent. It could be related to the permissions of the user - try to do the same thing when you connect with a local administrator on the computer where the Converter server is installed and also try to turn off UAC if it is on.
