"Unknown error" whenever I try to access the properties of the network connection
Hi all
whenever I try to access the properties of a network connection (e.g. via right click on 'Network'-> properties-> right click on a connection-> properties), type of connection according to what is, I get a message "Unknown error" box and I can't move forward.
As a result, any setting of any network connection is not editable, more. For example, I wanted to force the IP of the local network of "assigned to DHCP" to "static" with an address fixed IP, but I can't.
Another weird thing is that I even can't delete one of the existing network connections, even if there are a couple that are not in use for a long time...
It should be noted that, apart from that, the network of connections work.
What can cause this behavior, and that might be the way to solve the problem?
I want to upgrade the system to SP3 but I am reluctant to take the plunge with such an "alive"... error
As you may have already guessed, the system is running XP SP2.
Thanks in advance,
Concerning
Yes, I am facing the same problem too. The error message says "an unexpected error has occurred." This problem started out with me a few weeks back and I was under the assumption that it was due to a virus attack. But even after a thorough cleaning session problem continues to exist.
The problem - as mentioned above by the Bell, we can neither open the properties of a connection (i.e. Dial-up/LAN/WLAN), or remove or add a new connection. If you try to open the connection properties, all you get is the message "an unexpected error has occurred" and if you try to delete or add a connection - the system does not respond!
Surely, this link worked for me. I hope it works for you Bell. Check it out.

I downloaded the new 9. ? version said to my PC to run it. It said to restart my system which will come into force. Yes, I did. Whenever I try to access the line, it gives me the message that I have to restart my system. What should I do?
Do a cleaning (re) install and delete the folder of the program Firefox (C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\).
Download a new copy of Firefox and save the file to the desktop.
- Firefox 9.0.x: http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all.html
Uninstall your current version of Firefox, if possible.
- Do NOT remove the data of a personal nature when you uninstall the current version or you lose your bookmarks and other data in the profile folder.
Delete the program folder Firefox before installing newly downloaded copy of the Firefox installer.
- It is important to remove the Firefox program folder to delete all the files and make sure that there is no problem with the files that were the remains after uninstallation.
Your bookmarks and other profile data stored in the Firefox profile folder and will not be affected by a relocation, but make sure that you do not select delete data of a personal nature if you uninstall Firefox.

Original title: data execution prevention-window Explorer error
Data execution prevention launches when I try to access the windows Explorer, and more particularly when I try to watch videos. So I tried to turn off DEP for windows Explorer. Now, I can access my videos, but they all have text on them that says video PHOTO, & www.jpg.com. I have not downloaded new software recently, so I don't know where it comes from. I ran my antivirus sofware and malwarebytes, and my system is to come clean. How can I remove this from my videos? Thank you!
This isn't how to diagnose and repair the DEP errors - especially not Windows Explorer DEP errors.
But 6 days of inactivity and a link to an article of a MSE = automatic response.

I was an active member of this forum for more than a year and was just on the site yesterday. Yet, for some reason, today, I can not access the site. I tried clicking on a search link, manually type in the name of the site... nothing works. All I ever get is the message "Internet Explorer cannot display this webpage"; no error codes... no nothing!
I have no trouble access to other sites with the exception of the McAfee site. I know that the site is running.
UPDATE: for some strange reason, now all of a sudden I can again access McAfee Forum site this morning. Still have no idea what happened here, but at least that the problem is now solved... I hope!
Thnks a lot for your time!
Hello
I am happy to know that your problem is solved. In case, if you need help, you can always post your questions as well as your valuable suggestions in this forum.

The page will load and then get a page not found error. I can still access files using the office program and saying that they have synchronized. I tried to erase the cache, cookies and others, I've used other computers, browsers, and different browsers on different computers, clear the caches and data on establishments. I tried to change my password and log out, then log.
Nothing works, my guess is that it has a file corrupted in my archives or it's a server problem. (an admin may permanently delete all my files?, nothing to important there)
Anything to help.
Thank you

DNS error when you try to access the link online
I have been using a link on my site of doctors for centuries to order a prescription (it uses elbowspace) when I tried to order today I received the follwing message' Oops! This link seems broken. DNS error occurred. Server not found "." I contacted the surgery and they tell me that there is no problem. I can access my other sites OK. Any suggestions as to why this has happened?
Hello
Are you using a 3rd party firewall or anti-spyware?
This is most probably the site causes the error, but you can try to reset your TCP/IP stack.
Start command - in the search box type-
at the top of the list to find COMMAND - CLICK RIGHT to it - RUN AS ADMIN
Type the following commands (or copy and paste one at a time), each followed by pressing on enter.
ipconfig/flushdns
nbtstat-r
nbtstat - RR
netsh int Reinitialis
netsh int ip reset
netsh winsock reset
RESET
That resets your TCP/IP stack
I hope this helps.

First of all. I have Windows 7 ultimate.
Recently, I had problems with malware. I have to click on a link to google search and get sent to some site asking me to buy stuff (I have not). I tried several different anti-virus and malware, including:
1 McAffee (which is a joke)
2 avast
3. stop Zilla
4 Malware bytes.
1-3 have not picking up anything either. And 4 stopped working after 10 minutes through a thorough analysis. With a quick scan, we didn't find any malware.
I tried safe mode and nothing. So I restored to an earlier point when it was working fine.
I tried to download the updates, but I get an error 80072EFE and am unable to download the updates. I checked McAffee and all windows programs have full access, so there should be no firewall problem. STOPzilla and Avast are no problem, due to the restoration. I need help! Help, please! If the cat is available, would be great.
Thank you
See if this triple McAfee fix solves the problem: http://service.mcafee.com/FAQDocument.aspx?id=TS100507
For good measure, also make a Reset (see http://support.microsoft.com/kb/971058).

We had this error pop up in FF 32 and 33 and 34 FF fixed it. How is it that since FF38.1 returned error and even now with 40 FF, the error is still there. Why is no longer an exception option Add to these routers? Even some of the most recent always give this error.
You probably cannot update the key, but you can complain to Linksys.

Can someone tell me what the message and how to remedy the situation?
Thank you very muchHello
1. don't you make changes to the computer until the problem occurred?
I suggest you to follow the steps below and check if it helps.
Method 1: Try to reset components to update Windows from the following link: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/971058
Method 2:
If the problem persists then try to set up your computer in a clean boot state, and check if the same issue occurs.
By setting your boot system minimum state helps determine if third-party applications or startup items are causing the problem.
How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or Windows 7:
http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135Note: After the boot minimum troubleshooting step, follow step 7 in the link provided to return the computer to a Normal startup mode.
Hope this information is useful.

On a m950y of HP with AMD Phenom Quad Core processor 2.4 GHz, 8 GB of RAM, lots of available hard disk space, accepted the software license agreement. Can you tell me what's happening, if this should be fixed, and how it can be fixed?

UH! After posting the added information in my last post, I have acted on an intuition, uninstalled, Office Live 1.5 from the Control Panel, rebooted, reinstalled and everything went well.
So I guess there's a glitch somewhere where Windows Live Update thought I needed the upgrade while in fact I have not, and he is involved in a problem that cannot be resolved.
Thank you for your help.

"Invalid certificate" error when you try to access the internet.
Original title: invalid certificate XP 2001
New computer shop, so using old XP 2001. Can get internet, but sign CERTIFICATE INVALID keeps popping up. What should I do?
Two conditions that can cause this. One is that your computer is on the wrong date or duration. Verify that your correct time zone is set on your computer and the date / time is within 5 minutes of the correct time.
Second, you need to maybe old certificates that need to be updated. Go to the following site:
"Members of the certificate program root Windows.
