Hi, I run Yosemite 10.10.5 on a Macbook Pro 15 mid-2010 "

Tonight I continued to get the beachball, while everything seemed frozen. When activity began to return that all of the apps I had open failed - mail, photos, safari, activity monitor - so I force, I found the leaves from the dock. I then reopened safari & ran EtreCheck. I copied the report here that I hope someone can help me decrypt. I wonder more about the unknown file found & don't know what to do - my technical/computer language skills are sorely unfortunately.

Last month, my hard drive is full of unknown files. The magnitude became visible when I ran WinDirStat.

I reduced the space allocated for the restore system to the basket and 2% to 2% Points. No significant impact.

I stopped and restarted the system restore. No significant impact. I turned it then turn back.

I ran MS cleaning disk before and after the change of the other Options to remove all but the most recent System Restore Point. No significant impact.

I ran Auslogics Disk Defragmenter that revealed the paths, sizes and file names. I am unable to make a copy of the list, but it contains a ton of files, many of them up to + 400 MB. The following selection all have paths that include "SystemRestore".

This is unusual.

Files, and system restore points are all contained in the "hidden doubling: directory
C:\System Volume Information\_restore {}...-
None of the paths include the text "SystemRestore".

Access to this directory is strictly limited by default and "WinDirStat" cannot be used to watch this directory without help.

"Access to the System Volume Information folder"

"How to disable and enable the system restore in Windows XP"

My guess is that the files that you see are not system restore area and are completely useless. If these files are all under a common directory, try to rename this directory to something different and restart your machine. If your machine continues to run well, then these files probably aren't necessary and can be deleted. If your system does not work well, you should be able to start safe mode and rename the directory back.

• mode MSC e250 presents itself as the 2 discs with 0kb and unknown file formats

I have an e250 v01.00.12A and when I put in MSC mode and connect to my computer, it shows two disks, each completely empty and with a size of 0 and an unknown file system. The system setting menu has NO option to reformat the drive. I'm trying to install Rockbox or even just update the firmware, but I am completely at a loss on how to address the issue. I tried using the Sansa Updater into recovery mode, but nothing has worked. Manual updates don't work because I have no way to get the files on the device in MSC mode.

Thanks for the help.

Too bad. I have it. I updated the firmware and formatted (Sansa.fmt) in recovery mode. I had to do it twice, for some reason; the first time he totally ruined the memory and it would not connect in control or PSG in addition to showing as 0 MB in the settings menu. Tried again, and it works fine now. Thanks for the help, c1u31355!

• Some unknown files on drive C are piling up

Hello

Lately I've noticed a few unknown files on my C drive and they stack up, I check the ownership of these files it gives no info, everything is 0. What they are how can I remove them?

Thank you

Hi Jeff,

1. you remember to make changes to the computer before this problem?

Step 1:

You can try to remove these files and check.

Delete a file or folder

Delete files using disk cleanup

Step 2:

You can also check the following link and try to download the Microsoft Safety Scanner and perform a full scan on your computer and check.

Microsoft safety scanner

Note: When you perform the analysis, there are risks of data loss you can take a backup of important data before performing analysis.

• Huge unknown file

Hi all:

I have Windows 7 and Norton 360. Recently, when I've been running some antivirus scans that I noticed that she was taking a lot of time and for some reason there are a large number of scanned files (almost 2 million). I have an external hard drive where I keep backups, things no reviews etc. I ran WinDirStat to see what could be cash for the large number of files and noticed a HUGE 'unknown' file on my C - about 44GB drive. I can't open this, I don't know if I'm the see when I use the BACK (DIR /AH - perhaps called ?) and I am reluctant to get rid of it without knowing what it is. Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks, JB

So I had a different problem on another computer and found the following instructions to clean up what's called a reparse point (sounds like a root vegetable).

a. go in Start / All Programs / Accessories / System Tools / Disk Cleanup.
(b) in the drop-down menu, select the drive you want to clean, and then click OK. The reader will be analyzed.
c. in the next window, select the button clean up system files.
d. Select the drive again, and then click OK.
e. in the next window, select the Other Options tab. In the section System Restore and shadow copies, click the clean button, and then click OK.
f. in the next window, select the delete button.

This will remove all temporary files and all but the last System Restore Points.

So I tried on the computer with the huge mysterious file and... It is! Should not have been this difficult to get a basic technical support without spending a fortune of fn.

• After update-> 5.3 4.3: unknown file a LSN..., beyond the end of the paper to...

We use a BerkeleyDB for about six years in production, store ~ 100 GB of data in db files ~ 500 in an environment. The application uses the Perl API to access the BerkeleyDB.

After a week of tests, we have improved our production server of BerkeleyDB 4.3.29 to 5.3.21 yesterday, running on the db db_upgrade files. While the upgrade went well, since then, we have the following problem:
To access some database files to write for the first time, db_put fails with the error message:

unknown file a LSN..., beyond the end of the paper to...
Commonly caused by the displacement of a database of databases environment
to another without erasing the LSNs of the database, or by the deletion of all
the log of a database environment files

Since we did not move the environment or database files, the "common cause" isn't the issue here.
db_verify is happy with the database in question files, db_recover has also been attempted without success.

The only way to get the job of database (we have found to date) is a discharge-charge cycle.

You have any idea what is causing these issues?
The BerkeleyDB is stored on mounted with ioerror, vxfs largefiles, delaylog, rw is mwdisable options.
We open the environment with these flags:

DB_INIT_TXN | DB_INIT_LOCK | DB_INIT_LOG | DB_INIT_MPOOL | DB_DSYNC_DB
and DB_LOG_DSYNC, just to be on the backup the value side...

The application runs on the version of Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server 5.6 (Tikanga)

Dear Bogdan,

Instead of environment files steps 8 and 9, we have removed the __db.* and logs, intending to start a new environment from scratch.

I see, it's okay, you can do, but you need to reset the log sequence numbers (LSN), databases so you disconnect the old log files databases and start with new.
To do this, I ran db_upgrade on databases and after that reset the NSE. You have two options to reset the LSN, either do you it programmatically using the DB_ENV-> lsn_reset() (documented at http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E17076_02/html/api_reference/C/envlsn_reset.html) or, better yet, you use 'db_load' utility - r lsn (documented at http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E17076_02/html/api_reference/C/db_load.html) which does the same thing. Once you reset the LSN, replace the old databases, delete the log files and the region, start your application and how you are going.

Let me know if you still have problems.

• studio mx unknown file format error

Help! I use the Flash of the suite Studio Mx Professional and I can't open a .fla file. He tells me that its in a "unknown file format".
But the file opens when I used Flash 8 in my school program. Please tell me that they design programs of series 8, so they were not retro-compatible with the Mx series! Restless... IM in right now so sorry. So if there is a fix or a simple solution that used to make me scream, please post!

Scream - you cannot open it.
You must go back to the Flash 8 and "Save as" in the lower version.
And if you think about it, is it not logical? Flash 8 can do many things that may not Flash MX 2004. How the old program should understand the new features?

• Write to spread generates file of journal of type unknown file in windows 7.

Hi all, I use the Vi 'Write in a spreadsheet file' for writing data in text files. These data can be read by any text editor, such as Notepad in MS, or excel. The problem is that

Windows detects these files as being of an unknown type, and I have to explicitly tell windows what program to use to open these files. In addition, for some reason any the

Box "Always use the selected program to open this kind of file" is grayed out. So I can't assign a file type to these files.

Has anyone else encountered this problem? Do you know how to fix it? And what type of files 'Write in a spreadsheet file' generates?

Thanks for your help,

What extension do you use to create your files? I agree that it seems that you do not provide a file extension. Add a ".txt" to your file names before writing and Windows will play more nicely with you. Or if you use a comma as separator, use ".csv".

XP SP3

Avast antivirus

Hi bobr_589,

A standard procedure for the administration of the system is to reduce the amount of storage space used (typically a hard disk) by deleting temporary files.

That the file is in temp you can remove it because it is not a update file.

In addition to this review, if Windows update is working or not.

A Microsoft security in safe mode with networking scanner to make sure that the computer is completely virus-free
Step 1:
To start the computer in safe mode

Step 2:

The Microsoft Safety Scanner free is a downloadable security tool that allows analysis at the application and helps remove viruses, spyware and other malicious software. It works with your current antivirus software.

http://www.Microsoft.com/security/scanner/en-us/default.aspx

Note: The Microsoft Safety Scanner expires 10 days.

Note: The data files that are infected must be cleaned only by removing the file completely, which means that there is a risk of data loss.

See the following steps to delete the content in the Temp folder.
1. click on Start. Click run. In the dialog box that appears, type temp , and then click OK.
2. open the Temp folder. You can delete everything in the Temp folder, including subfolders. Click Edit | Select all, and then press DELETE on your keyboard.
3. you can also try to delete other user accounts Temp files by performing the next step.
i. click Start. Click run. In the dialog box that appears, type %temp%, and then click OK.

See also:
Description of the tool in Windows XP disk cleanup

• Sansa e280 - unknown files - mp3tag.m3u is not supported

Hello

I bought a sansa e280. First, almost all the files were unknown - I read the other reviews - downloaded mp3tag v2.42.a, modified to ID3v2.3 ISO-8859-1 as the replaced tags witl Ctrl + s. I copy, resulting in 'mptag.m3u is not supported. what I did wrong?

Another thing is unclear: How can I remove database?

Thank you

Peter

Just highlight all the tags and save them (as ID3v2.3 ISO-8859-1). You will see ID3v2.3 in parentheses.

.m3u is a playlist file, then maybe make a playlist with CTRL +. If that's what you want to do, you must save the playlist in the folder with MP3.

The data base in a v1 is the DATA folder in the SYSTEM folder. You must UN-hide the folders hidden in the Options of folders in Windows.

The database in a v2 is mtable.sys.

• How to request a new software added to the software suggested for the unknown file extension?

Hello

When a file is opened on Windows with an unknown extension, there is an option to 'search the Web '.

This option opens the Microsoft Web site with a list of software that can help you work with this new file format.

We have developed a very good video converter that can be associated to several file extensions in Windows.

Do you know how and which Microsoft, I must ask our software to add to the list of extensions on the Microsoft Web site?

For example, the list for the MP4 extension can be seen here:

http://shell.Windows.com/fileassoc/0409/XML/redir.asp?ext=MP4

You can see that there are several software listed there. How an application can be made to add our software in the list?

Thank you.
