  I suggest that you visit the gigabyte website for your region (and/or the site global http://www.gigabyte.com/?f=g ) and check your motherboard for compatibility with Windows 7.

  The problem you are experiencing would imply that Windows 7 has no native driver support for your disk controller, so if Gigabyte don't have drivers that you are locked unless you buy a discreet disk controller that is compatible Windows 7.

  I think my Standard dual channel PCI IDE Controller Driver is outdated. The current driver, I have installed has a date of June 21, 2006 driver. If I try to update through the window of the driver details in the Device Manager it tells me according to update... but it says on my audio, video and drivers ethernet which have been exceeded. I went to the Web from Foxconn site, because they are the manufacturer of the Board of Directors (Destroyer), but their drivers are up-to-date.

  Seeing that Microsoft is the provider of the driver, is there somewhere on the Microsoft site, can I go to get the latest driver for my Vista 64 bit system?

  When you are in Device Manager by looking at the disk for Standard dual channel PCI IDE Controller, have you tried to uninstall the drivers? (You may need to restart)  When your computer starts back it can recognize the non updated material.  If this is not the case, go back to Device Manager and install the driver.

  Can someone help me? I have a PAVILION A6150UK pc... I came with Windows Vista and I have recently (15 months ago)... Installed windows 7... Everything was fine until last week. I did a system restore to remove a program installed my son... As he was restoring, we had a power cut... PC wouldn't start... Since then, I had the problem of being visible in the bios sata drives, but not when I went to reinstall windows 7 says there is a missing IDE controller... Do not have a clue... Any help would be appreciated...

  I recently had some performance issues with computer ym so I went into Device Manager to update the drivers and such and this AD60D7P4 IDE controller has a yellow exclamation mark next to it. So I clik to update the driver I did this multiple times yet no driver found for him. Also, I downloaded several programs for the update of autopilot just to make me pay for them after pretending to be free.   I suggest updating the drivers from the chipset of your PC by downloading the latest version from the manufacturers Web site.

  I try to install the Windows 7 RC on my PC.  A compatibility check is fine, so I try to install it.  I chose Custom because I want a new beginning, not an upgrade.  When I select the hard drive (a drive, a partition), it says "windows cannot be installed on disk 0 Partition 1.  The details say:

  Windows cannot be installed to this disk.  Windows needs the driver for device [Standard dual channel PCI IDE Controller].  Click on "Load Driver" and load the required device driver.

  I tried to copy the drivers that use XP Pro with no luck.  I copy to a flash drive and choose them from the installation of the user interface.  He then just goes back to the same message.  Thanks to anyone able to provide some advice.

  I'm tired of playing with the integrated card.  I went out and bought a cheap good NETWORK adapter from Best Buy ($17).  Probably could have saved a few bucks by buying from NewEgg (get for $6-10), but I didn't want to wait.  The new map was compatible vista and worked at startup.

  In my opinion, there is no reason to do something like that. If the laptop works well let it go. Go to the Toshiba download page and download driver chipset for your laptop model and install it manually.
