Unlock the password on Windows Live Mail
When I turn on my Windows Live Mail on my computer at home, always connect firstly in a password. I'd rather not have to do that, is there a way I can clear this requirement?
You need to check Remember password, uncheck the box no. Don't know why it asks you to log in if it is checked.
I use windows 7 and use WINDOWS LIVE MAIL to access my account of Vidéotron also my msn account. I have a connection separate msn I don't change the password, but if I go through windows live mail the two accounts appear. I want to change my password for windows live mail. How can I change the password?

Hi Doug MacDonald.
- Did you the latest changes on the computer?
- What web browser are you using to print Web pages?
If you use Internet explorer, then change the margin settings to the title of the page setup in the file menu and check if that helps.
See the articles below and check if it helps.

OT: I'm sorry, I just got an answer that is not accurate. Windows Live and Hotmail ARE THE SAME! BECAUSE WHEN YOU CHANGE THE PASSWORD THAT IT MODIFIES THE OTHER. I was told that it is 2 different passwords?
I wanted to see if Windows Live and Hotmail was the same thing, and someone told me that they are 2 different passwords and not the same thing.
I changed the password on Windows Live and it has changed my password:)
Thank you, Angelo

After saving the emails from windows live mail, why not open them on my computer as the file extension is wlmail.fol?
wlmail.fol is a tiny text giving the name of the folder. The exported messages will have filenames like 00D13E83 - 000025DF.eml. If you don't see all of the files like this, your export probably did not work properly.
For a successful export, follow these directions:
- Set Windows Live Mail to work offline before starting.
- Create a temporary folder on your desktop * to contain the exported messages.
- In the Export Wizard, select the temporary folder, and then select all the folders.* *
- When it is complete, check that the number of files in each folder to the temporary folder is one more than the number of messages in the corresponding folder of WLMail.
- Copy the temporary file to its final destination.
If you use a reader not NTFS to do this, you will see a warning that certain file properties will not be copied files. This can be ignored.
* Windows Live Mail do not work with files that are not on a local drive, as opposed to an external or network drive. This is avoided by using the office as a temporary folder location.
* If you want to export the files sampled only, select each of them containing messages. Subfolders are not automatically selected by default.
I suddenly lost my taskbar at the top of windows live mail. I have to delete messages by right click. Could someone help me please. I'm a novice at this. Thank you.
Thank you for your help Bruce. It worked and I can see it now.I wish you a very Merry Christmas and a safe and healthy year.Dawn was soon

I have a desktop icon for "windows live mail" which takes me directly to my hotmail account. Recently, instead of going directly to this account, my password, wonder if I can 'Cancel' and he opens the account. How can I get a setting where clicking on the icon will open hotmail instead of ask for my password?

My wife's e-mail is demanding a password to receive new e-mail messages. This was not required in the past. We have forgotten the password, because it has never been used since the initial installation. When I use the site "password reset" to change the forgotten password, email address or picture characters are not allowed.

The steps I have provided previous works if you use a web browser to connect to your emails. Windows Live Mail is an email client that requires your password to be added during Setup. This service can be set to disconnect when you quit the program
If your computer is shared, a work-around for you would be to create a new user account and this secured with a password. This only will allow you to access your emails.

I can't go back to Windows live mail using my original e-mail that I don't remember the password. Via a Hotmail account means that all my contacts are missing. How can I recover the password to the original address?

I'm having a problem where I get a sign in error whenever I try to access my Hotmail account using my smartphone or windows live mail.
I CAN however use my web browser to connect and access the account in this way.
I tried using 2 different laptops (windows 7 on both) and my android phone.
I have reset the password twice and still have no chance to access the account outside the approach of above web browser.
It seems that this problem has affected my direct mail phone and windows at the same time, and I am at a loss for a line of conduct.
Does anyone have a solution?
Thanks in advance
It seems that if you have activated the two-step verification when you changed your
password. If you did, you can not use this password to authenticate in stupid
programs like Windows Live Mail which cannot ask or submit to security codes. You
need to generate a unique password app to use in situations like this.
