Unlocked BlackBerry Storm 9530 blackBerry smartphones

Hello

I use a storm 9530 accompanying VZW, but currently it is with the Vodafone India.

I unlocked it by buying the unlock on ebay code. Now my question is if I update the

device and new it oneself. Then, I'll be able to unlock it by the same code or not

Good answer to this...

Ellina

Once unlocked, always unlocked.

Nothing, including an upgrade of the operating system will be re - lock.

OK, so have you followed all the steps in the tutorial to remove the cod browser_daemon file and replace as well as 10 to 12 steps I copied above?

Similarly, until you get the generic TMO service books copied on from TMO so pushed tutorial, you won't get anywhere.

  • Blackberry Curve 8320 unlocked blackBerry smartphones

    Hello

I have not actually bought my Blackberry yet, but I'm looking into it right now. I want to buy a unlocked Blackberry Curve 8320 which was previously on AT & T or T-mobile (I'm a couple more different). Anyway, I wanted to buy a Blackberry and place it on a data plan with Rogers Canada. I'm doing this because I want to be able to use BBM, so I think I need a data plan.

I buy the Blackberry separately because I want to be able to use overseas when I use another GSM SIM card for example. I know doing it on contract is cheaper, but I don't want to do that because I will be locked on a 3 year contract and I won't be at the Canada for 3 years.

I just want to know if the Rogers data network will work with a Blackberry unlocked as I described above. I asked Rogers customer service and they said that they cannot confirm that the Rogers data network will be to 'connect' with the unlocked Blackberry because it once belonged to another provider and I should buy a Blackberry from Rogers. I don't know if they just said that if I would buy the Blackberry from Rogers rather than elsewhere. I know the unlocked Blackberry should work fine with a regular for calls and SMS GSM SIM card and all that but I want to know specifically about BBM - ing.

Sorry, my question is so long. Thanks a lot for your help!

While Canadian companies may be different from their American counterarts I do not that the differences are only significant to materially affect my response.

When you buy a 'new' locked onto a support device will be offered the device at a price at a price significantly lower than the retail price recommended for her.  That's what prescribed contractual lock in as they recover for the duration of the contract, the difference between what you pay and the cost.  They're subsidizing the price in order to collect a healthy monthly fees for access.

All U.S. carriers require a data plan for smartphones in addition to any general "plans" for just minutes and text packages etc.  I guess that Canadian businesses require the same.

In order to use BBM you need a dataplan carriers which is what allows your device use the features of the BIS (Blackberry Internet service) requiring Blackberry data push, e-mail, all what is "data".

This is a new in the box device purchased by your friends at Rogers.  They sold you a Blackberry and they dance as they listen to the registry will chaching.  This is music to their ears.  This is an item being sold and it is "locked" to Rogers.  Of course, for each month of your servitude under contract happen to dance again once the Registry continues to provide them with more chaching.

You bought a camera from them, you can use it at this stage only with them.  They will be as you might or might not be aware subject to various and assorted penalties if you tire of their service or their absence and take your business elsewhere, or try.  Costs of early termination can easily exceed your initial cost plus for a premium, in a credit institution, violating laws governing wear.

It's what keeps dissatisfied customers even with the carriers that are less satisfactory.  It is just too expensive to leave while allowing some, but not all carriers for you 'sell' the balance of your contract to another.  If Rogers of permits that are unknown to me.

If you buy an "unlocked" device it is expected of the band is compatible with Rogers (GSM/CDMA as the case may be) perfectly capable to be activated on their network.

Their after-sales service is to use a euphemism, blowing smoke.  They know perfectly well that a device unlocked regardless of its origin.  They won't make you a device for which they do not receive rewarding chaching first and make run on their network.  Since you did not pay a subsidized price for the device that you are not obliged to a three-year plan or some length Rogers requires for locked for new devices.

While they play stupid indeed hoping you will buy them and locked himself in a service contract.  It's guaranteed money for thirty-six months.  It's a lot of money.

Assuming you get to admit only a 8320 unlocked (GSM) will play well with their network that you can buy a phone, monthly data on the plan without being locked in a period of time.

You will absolutely need the dataplan however, at least the minimum plan they offer will prevent access to the services that make it a Blackberry.

Of major importance for you in as long as purchaser of a used instrument is the only one not is indeed "unlocked" but the PIN was released by the former owner and the access to its carrier, T-Mobile or AT & T.  Every Blackberry is assigned a unique PIN that lives with her forever.  For example, if I want to sell my unlocked Blackberry Storm I will have to make arrangements for the release of the Verizon PIN so that a subsequent purchaser can activate the storm on Verizon (my service provider) or such that it is unlocked any service provider, as it really is a universal device capable of activation on a CDMA/GSM/UMTS network or Global.

I would like to buy a used if and only if it is verifiable that the PIN was released by the previous owner/carrier.  With the instrument in hand, it can be checked on the device or not it is unlocked.  The output of the SPINDLE must be verified by the previous carrier and I'm too cynical, but I wouldn't take the word of the seller unless it was a very trustworthy family member and even then, I would like to politely ask for verification.

Rogers wants money on your part.  They want the money upfront to sell you a Blackberry and they want the contract guaranteed money for the long term for the months down the line.  For Rogers, it's win/win.

You can, even if it's an expensive to buy a new device of Rogers at the MSRP and not you will not lock in a three-year contract.  The majority of carriers who does not advertise that the difference is more than lost long-term do not lock you in their.

I hope this helps.  If I appear cynical, it's because I am.  Carriers are there to increase their profits and integrity is lost in the maze.

  • Unlocking blackBerry Smartphones 8830 World Edition GSM and code provider

    Hello

I'm a guy unsavvy tech and have an 8830 World Edition phone. Bought this from Auntie Indicom (Vendor ID: 269), a CDMA operator which also provided a GSM SIM for only international roaming. Last month, number portability Mobile came into India, and I went to a GSM provider, Vodafone India. After the transfer of numbers, simply inserted the new Vodafone SIM and the phone and Blackberry services are working well with the new operator. Two questions:

    1. from the Options-> advanced-> SIM card Options, after typing MEPD, I see:

    ID: a large number

    Customization:

    Disabled SIM

    Active network

    Network subset disabled

    Service Provider disabled

    People with reduced mobility

Does this mean that my Blackberry is locked? If Yes, is it blocked by Vodafone? Given that I have moved the Auntie service provider Vodafone and does not seem to wear the same number on the same phone, aunt locked the phone.

    2. type Alt-EACE, I always see the Vendor ID 269 (Auntie). See also the logo of Auntie initially upwards. Is it possible that I can change the ID of the seller or at least stop getting the start screen for the old vendor? This ID Vendo has something to do with the above-mentioned lock?

Would be very grateful if some kind soul illuminates.

    Thank you

There must be something different on a BB WE that allows the use of other SIMs, though always stuck at home carrier. Odd, but your experience proves the theory. I seriously doubt that release will make a difference, but certainly to try I guess.

I don't know why your BB is as you describe... but, I want to propose the following steps, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried. However, you want to be careful here. I don't know how you originally got your BB running services on your current operator. All BB services are controlled by the Service books. If a carrier does not natively support a BB model on their network, there are a few things that need to be taken to get these SBs on than non-native BB. If only it had to do, don't go here... you could just wipe out all your services level of BB. But if none of these tricks are required (which would mean that your carrier supports natively your BB model), then you should be safe to go ahead.

Steps 1 and 2 each should translate into a message to your BB to come:

    (1) registry HRT

    • KB00510 How to register a BlackBerry smartphone with wireless network

    (2) Service reference books

    • KB02830 Send the directories for the BlackBerry Internet Service

    (3) restart to take batt

    • Each time a random strange behavior or slow creeps, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the hood back and remove the battery. Wait a minute, then replace the battery and cover. Power on and wait patiently through the long reboot - about 5 minutes. See if things return to functioning. Like all computing devices, BB suffers from memory leaks and others... with a hard reboot is the best remedy.

Maybe it will make a difference. I really do not know about you, to be honest. It's a tricky business, and you can well serve just as well by getting a new BB you get from your carrier... which by the way, you would have at least that the formal support at your disposal channel.

    Good luck!

  • BlackBerry Storm 9530 to Smartphones unloacks by itself after 1 min and the screen stays on

Hey all the... my storm unlocks by itself after I click the button locking... the screen remains so forever.  Ive had this phone for a few months and just noticed this today.  Someone knows how to do ten this?

If it is a new problem, there is one thing to try first to see if that solves the problem - do a battery pull.  Just open the back of the phone and while the phone is turned on, remove the battery for 30 seconds, reinsert the battery and wait for the phone to reboot (~ 5 minutes).  If this does not help, the next step is to check the settings of your screen.  Go to Options > keyboard/screen.  Check that your backlight delay is set on an appropriate delay time (e.g. 30 or 45 seconds) and automatically Dim backlight is enabled.

    Hopefully that will help!

  • Problems with unlocking blackBerry Smartphones

Hello, I have problems with my Blackberry Storm (Verizon). I got an unlock code and followed the instructions correctly, and he said that the code has been accepted. I put in my China Mobile SIM card, and sometimes it will fit and work properly (at the top and 'edge' under the signal bars, said CHINA MOBILE), other times it won't (go see just travelling triangle and '1 X' under the signal bars). Maybe nobody knows what could be the problem? Both times he will read the same info under 'Status' and 'SIM card' in the Options on the phone.

    Thanks for any help!

    I can tell you this...

    1 X is CDMA

    and

    Edge is GSM

If you pass (correctly or incorrectly) in both directions between the signals. IN the management of connections > Mobile network > network technology, you can choose one or the other, why not try only GSM or 1XEV for awhile and see how it locked to one or the other.

  • Unlocked blackBerry Smartphones Software Update has not received the AT & T brand PRIVATE when you use a non - AT & T SIM card

    Dear whom it may concern,

I saw one of the support forum of Blackberry Web site on "software update, not received the AT & T unlocked brand PRIVATE when you use a non - AT & T SIM card". How can I receive the OTA update in the notification bar?

Now, my OS is Mashmallow 6.01 build No.. AAF355 (June 1, 2016) or do I have to update (auto loadder) my Priv to AAG873 in order to get the direct OTA from Blackberry in the future.

    Thank you

Good questions. I can speculate only at this stage. I guess that since it is updated by BB, they use a revision update for all devices to facilitate management. AT & T updates their different, since they have different methods of approval (Note T-mobile even updated as unlocked devices). Unless you want to get specific version of AT & T that could fix something that the other version does not work, I'd wait for the OTA. I did three refills of OS because I couldn't OTA of AT & T, and they take a lot of time. Take the time then to restore and to reconfigure all the settings you had before. Not funny.

To be more precise questions. Depends on you, but for me, would be updated via OTA only now that it's available. Yes, if you want auto charger, use AT & t. even as before, wait for OTA, unless you have a specific automotive need load the operating system.

could someone pls PM me with a code to c if it corresponds to a wind gave me thank you...

EDIT: For your security, personal information such as lMEI are prohibited. Please see the guidelines of the user   under article ""be sure to." "

Hello and welcome to the community!

The provider, you, the unlock code is solely responsible for this code. Before exhaust you your attempts, you should talk to them some more about 1) fixed it 2) what they will do to you if they insist you keep trying and then exhaust all attempts (so hard - lock, leaving only the factory RIM able to unlock).

No matter who is responsible (WIND or RIM), the WIND is your only source of use... they can degenerate into RIM if they can't understand it. You have no channel to seek help directly from RIM, without going through the WIND. You work with WIND and climbing through them.

    Good luck!

  • Unlocked blackBerry Smartphones using bb curve 9310 w/Tmobile without data

Hello, I'm looking to buy a bb curve 9310. For the moment, I'm in a 2 year contract with calls unlimited-Tmobile & text, no data plan.

I need to change my phone and I would like a blackberry because I have a lot of text, and also I would use its WiFi capabilities as well.

I did some research and it seems to be is not as simple as just buy the phone and put a SIM card. I just want to know if I would be able to use a unlocked bb curve with my Tmobile SIM 9310 (plan of 2 years, no data)

I already know that I won't be able to use features such as BBM. I'm waiting until my contract expires and may then add a data plan or change of provider.

Any response would be greatly appreciated as I need to change my phone as soon as POSSIBLE.

    Thank you!

What happens with companies like At & t and Verizon. However, T-mobile in the United States is not that. I have an iPhone and a BB 9780 for two of my children on family plans for $5 per month - no data plan.

  • Unlocking blackBerry smartphones

I bought blackberry bold 9780 and the carrier has been T-mobile. I moved to Africa and wanted to unlock the phone so I can use the available local networks. Now I have exhausted all 10 tests given and cannot unlock. Its gives me "0 left" and cannot do anything with it now. Any help?

Hi and welcome to the Forums!

Once all attempts fail, the BB is hard locked on the original media. The official method to unlock it now is to send it to the factory and ask them to unlock it. You can ask your provider if they would help, but since you are not yet using one of their devices, they can be reluctant. Also, I heard, even if everyone agrees to do, cost more than just buying a new.

    Good luck!

  • Screen unlock blackBerry Smartphones can not your password

I have a problem with my 8520 son

When you press the up button or trackball, does not appear the password screen to unlock the phone. I tried:

The soft reset, the soft reset double

Take the battery, leaving for a bit, then put it in.

Plug into the computer, accurate results in the phone being glued connection.

I can't access the phone so I can do a factory reset, unless there is a way to do with going into the menus of the phone.

I don't know if the problem is related to a live wallpaper tropical fish that he downloaded from the blackberry store, before the problem occurred, any ideas how to get rid of?

do a battery pull.  When the red light goes on the front of the phone, press and hold the back

button all the time while the phone is in boot.  When initialization is complete, the phone goes into safe mode.

in safe mode, remove this theme and make an another battery pull.

  • Blackerry to TMobile unlocked blackBerry smartphones

    Can someone help me! .

I currently have T-Mobile as carrier and I am looking to buy a blackberry because I love them! The only problem with T Mobile Blackberry, is that they require that you buy the (internet) data service for $ 20 a month.
I heard that you can buy an unlocked AT & T blackberry or blackberry to another carrier (on Ebay or something like that) which will take my SIM card and I don't have the data plan...

Anyone know more about this device or where I can get a blackberry without a data plan while under the t mobile operator?

    Thank you!!

No, you heard wrong. You can buy a used unlocked or new device from a third party like eBay and you can put a Tmobile SIM in it, and you will get the voice and SMS, no problem

But you get around needing BlackBerry data services like that.

You will get nothing of any data BlackBerry... email, browser, maps, Messenger, etc..

A model with WiFi will get the use of the WiFi browser WHEN you are connected to a WiFi router.

    Good luck.

  • Unlocking blackBerry Smartphones Verizon

I read a lot of posts on how to unlock an active storm on Verizon's network for use with any GSM carrier.  What I did find is anyone who has asked or said anything about unlocking a Verizon phone that is no longer active on the Verizon network.  I made the mistake to go to ATT for some company "discount", but was greatly disappointed by their network and their so-called "discount."  Is it possible to unlock a Verizon Storm even if it is not active on the network?  I had the number moved to ATT and all.

You can try and contact Verizon and ask them to do it for you, as your previous operator.

or you can go to unlocking shop (in real life or on the internet).
