Unsupported personality: PCL on print Laserjet 1012 from Windows 7 Pro 64-bit

I have an HP Laserjet 1012.  My PC has Windows 7 Pro 64 bit.  I used the Laserjet 1015 PCL 6 drivers.  When I printed the first two times, it worked fine.  Now each page just print "Unsupported personality: PCL ' at the top.

What should I do now?

Thank you for your ' Experts for a day Tech Support.

When released drivers for the laserjet p1006 for windows 8 pro 64-bit? I have a printer which i cannont use...

Passed Windows 7 32-bit to 64-bit Windows 8, had all the problems mentioned above, trying to install Laser Jet P1006.  Downloaded and installed Windows 7 64 bit P1006 drivers from HP web site, hp_LJ_P1005_Full_Solution_Row.exe, and ljP1000_P1500-HB-pnp-win64 - in .exe.  Had to install both in the order listed above, printer would not work with a driver in itself.  Printer works like a champ, can't install the new 64 bit drvr Win8 when (if) HP comes out with it.

Update: A worked well for a week, out of nowhere the same document is sent to print twice, one showing file size, a display 0 kb to the size of the file cannot be deleted 0 kb file without unplugging the printer and restart the computer.  May have to do with the installation of Office 2010. Back to the drawing board.

Update 2: after failing to uninstall driver, used HP print and Scan Doctor in order to get the docs on the queue, and how 'delete device '.  After that, couldn't find no port selected in "Print properties", I use the usb port 2, but was not yet registered, usb 1 was for my other printer (Lexmark).  Computer restarted, a second icon p1006 printer/device manager, was listed usb port 2 and was selected.  Printer worked.  Uninstalled first icon legacy p1006, unfortunately the two p1006 icons disappeared.  Computer restarted, windows detected printer and installed, p1006 icon reappeared in Device Manager, usb still selected as port 2.  At the moment the two printers work.  All I have to ' do now is of fig on the flag "yellow" on my pc modem... 8 windows aah.

    Also:
    1. recently installed Office 2010.  In previous versions of windows and Office, had a similar impression of the problems with the hp laserjet p1006 queued default printer.  The fix was to choose Microsoft XPS Document Writer as default, and then select the printer that I want to use in the program when I tried to print a document.  Even once just in case.
    2. having two HP printers (for example a deskjet and a laserjet) downloaded on your computer causes all sorts of problems of print queue.  Has to do with both printers using common files. HP has ever imagined a fix for what I know (haven't checked lately), so if you have an HP printer that is installed, and you want a second printer, you have to buy a different brand as Lexmark for your second printer printer.  Suppport from HP will talk about common files, but not on the installation of a different brand printer, then you will have to take my word for it that it works.

  • Downgrade from Windows 7 Pro 64-bit of Windows XP pro 32 bit

    Hello

I have a desktop running windows 7 pro 64-bit, but need to switch to windows XP pro 32-bit as I has an electronic Development Council which is not easily compatible with this version.  I understand from licensing that as I Pro I would be entitled to downgrade, this applies to the downgrading to 32-bit as well.  If it's ok where can I download some ISO Windows XP pro 32 course and it's just a case of putting my windows 7 inside product key?

    Hello

Until you, ensure that you will have drivers for your hardware + devices on x 86 XP. If this isn't the case, I wouldn't do the downgrade you will have many problems.

Did you first try to run the program in compatibility?

  • HP Compaq 8200 Elite SFF: Downloading an image from Windows 7 Pro 64 bit with product key

I have this machine and the product key for the operating system, but WHERE I can download an image or a file with she understood EVERYTHING?

I donot want to download 10-20 different parts... just a bump - but where?

    Hello:

You can legally download W7 wherever you more unless you have a product key from retail full version, (including one on your PC isn't the case).

The best thing to do to reinstall W7 would call HP at this number (USA/Canada) and order a set of W7 for your PC recovery discs.

1-800-334-5144 PC serial number handy to give to the customer service rep.

A set should cost about $10 mailed to class 1.

    http://h30434.www3.HP.com/T5/LaserJet-printing/unsupported-personality-PCL-on-LaserJet-1012-printing-from/TD-p/470237

HP will not develop a Windows 10 driver for this printer. The best option is to buy a new printer or get a laptop computer with the operating system prior to Windows 7 because this error occurred on Windows 7 computers due to inadequate software support driver for the printer. Perhaps a simple shooting turn also works as described in the link.

  • Printer error: "Unsupported personality: PCL.

I'm running Windows 7 on a Dell XPS M1530.  I have an HP Laserjet 1012.  I installed the driver for the lj 1015 and it worked for awhile, but when I try to print something, anything out of print now is the message: "Unsupported personality: PCL.

Any help is appreciated.  Thank you!

I seem to remember (but did not attempt to verify) that:

    • The LaserJet 1012 is a host-based printer, which means that he doesn't understand or support for, the traditional Language of Description of Page (PCL5, PCL6, PostScript).
    • LaserJet 1015 does PCL5support, as well as the Protocol host-based; Therefore, at least one of the pilots may very well be an a PCL5.
    • The LaserJet 1012 probably has a rudimentary ability to treat a small amount of text, gross, and maybe some PCL5 simple sequences, in order to provide a diagnosis / capacity report, but this will work only until the page of the printer buffer is full.
    • Turn off the printer and then again clear the buffer of the page, then it will again appear to understand some non - GDI entry until the buffer is full again.

  • Downgrade from Windows - 8 updates from Windows-7 Pro-Windows-8 causing of programs; Troubleshooting and problems

    Dear Microsoft community team,

I installed the Windows (27) - 8 and Office 2010 updates yesterday that was recommended in the notifications of security & systems.

After installing these updates (27) in my HP Envy h8 - 1520t PC, my programs said crash and stop and start automatically. This has been a recurring problem with the updates of Windows-8 that I installed in my new PC.

As a result, I am unable to play my favorite games, use applications and have constant program blocks.

I am very disappointed with these problems. I bought a copy of OEM OS-Windows 7 PRO 64 bit and would like to downgrade from Windows-8 to-Windows 7 PRO 64-bit OS. Can you please provide me with instructions to install Windows - 7 PRO on my PC?

I spent countless hours online and search for bugs on the web sites of Microsoft for Windows-8 updates of the anomalies and corrections, with no resolution. HP has no alternative but to contact Microsoft support. I can't find a link email Microsoft support anywhere.

Please help me as soon as possible. Many individuals have downgraded to Windown-8 to-Windows 7 PRO with positive results on their HP Envy h8 - 1520 t PC. I never had a problem with the Windows 7 operating system.

    Sincerely,

Thanks for responding to my question.  Unfortunately I'm building a new pc for myself and there is not yet installed on the pc of the OS. It is not clear if the downloaded package requires a previously installed operating system of existing windows.  Anyway, thanks again for taking the time answering my question.
