Untintalling version 6.0 blackBerry smartphones
I liked the old version of the blackberry how unstall the 6.0 and go back to the old version, any help would be appreciated.
Hi and welcome to the Forums!
An old saying...
- The best device for anyone is that they become the most used for
I could dare guess that if you give yourself time, you could grow to love it.
But, if you insist, then from a PC, you can install any bundle of BONES to a BB via this procedure:
Note that although written for "reload", it can be used to upgrade, downgrade, or recharge - it depends on the OS package you download and install on your PC. You can even use a different OS package carriers simply insert, between steps 1 and 2, the deletion, on your PC, a file named PROVIDER. XML. remember that you remove from your PC, no matter what other packages devices OS BB as having more than one installed on the PC can cause conflicts with this procedure.
If you are on a MAC, you are limited to only your sanctioned carriers OS packages... but can still use any level they currently have to sanction. See this procedure:

Versions 2 BB blackBerry Smartphones is installed - could they conflict?
I have 2 versions of BB's installed - in Control Panel | Programs and features, they show that: "BlackBerry Desktop Software 7.1" - 7.1.0.37 and "BlackBerry Device Software for the smartphone BlackBerry 9320 V7.1.0" version - version 7.1.0.746 (Platform 9.49.77).
These would be contradictory. Should I uninstall the previous version? Thanks for your help.

Hello 34woody
The two are different software, one for BlackBerry Desktop Software and the other is a software for your device.
BlackBerry Device Software for the smartphone BlackBerry 9320 : v7.1.0 is your Device OS (Operating System)
BlackBerry Desktop Software 7.1 : is the BlackBerry Desktop Software version 7.1
So no need to remove those from your PC, they won't cause conflict

BlackBerry Smartphones Desktop software version corresponding device OS version?
Hello and good day,
I am very new to blackberry. I just got a 8830. I'm getting ready to download the Desktop Manager and was wondering if (since the OS on my device is v4.2.2.123), if I have to only download the desktop v4.2 Manager... or can I get 4.5 or 4.6? Also, I downloaded the upgrade for take my OS v4.2.2.196 device so I can use a full 8 GB card. Tips on how to install this on my device (it's currently just on my desktop where I downloaded it)? Thanks for your time and patience and have a great day!
BP
There is no relationship with device software and desktop manager version. You can download and use the updated 4.6 with your Blackberry.
Check the steps below for OS - upgrade
Step #1
Before you begin, make sure that BlackBerry Desktop Software is installed on the computer.
Step #2
Make sure that you have installed the software for device updated on your computer. Visit this link to get the software for device update the carrier OS download site.
Step #3
Users can perform a full or selective data backup by using the tool of backup and restore in BlackBerry Desktop Manager using the following steps:
- Connect the BlackBerry device to the computer that is running BlackBerry Desktop Manager.
- Open BlackBerry Desktop Manager.
- Double-click on the backup and restore.
- Select backup to perform a full backup or select Advanced to make a backup of specific databases.
- Choose a location to save the backup file, and then click Save.
Step #4
To perform a clean installation of the BlackBerry Device Software, do the following:
- Connect the BlackBerry smartphone to the computer and open BlackBerry Desktop Manager.
- Double-click The Application Loader icon.
- Click Next to start the installation process.

- Click on the checkboxes corresponding to the names of the applications you want to load, and then click Next.
- Click Advancedand then click the check box next to delete all already installed applications.
- Click on Next.
- Click the check box next to do not automatically back up the application during the process of loading data.

The version of Whatsapp new Smartphones blackBerry froze my BB... Help?
Hi, I've updated my version of Whatsapp a couple of days. Initially, no problem, however this morning my battery was dead so I plugged in to recharge. Now if I get the same notification again and again and again for Whatsapp http permissions. I can't close it as whenever I say allow/deny/tick/untick all the possible options, he appears again immediately. My phone is now unusable because I can't call even with it.
Thus, Whatsapp message signs are useless. Any ideas on how I can stop the application when my only options are the BB keyboard and notification app with 2 options "Allow" and "deny"?
Hi yksdoris
Welcome to the Forums of the BlackBerry Support
Please try first a battery as this device on pull the battery of waiting back for a min. then reinsert it wait until your device takes a long restart. See if the problem resolves.
If the problem persists then start your machine in safe KB17877ModeHow to start a mode BlackBerry smartphone safe. On Safe Mode uninstall Whatsapp from the unit, on your home screen for Options > device > application > scroll down and find Whatsapp and then press the menu key and then delete.
After deleting Whatapp perform a reboot to get another battery as shown above. If the problem is resolved you can download again later on whatsapp.

Hey all the... I wonder if I can pick the brains of the people and get good advice re: practice based experience recommended device (f/w? /) s/w version (s) for all PC activities oriented the TELUS Mobility BB Tour 9630, including PC-resident s/w (pkgs) & USB / USB Serial drivers (on XP Pro SP3).
I will probably be wanting to improve various (f/w? /) components s/w after a hiatus of three years on the BB before... However, based on my own experience of technology, newer / more recent (f/w?) / s/w (pkgs) is (are) not always the best for the end user and, same can be limiting in some identifiable ways... I'm speaking in general terms here... so... it might be the last BB s/w is the absolute best way to go for my PC o/s and turn device platform... I'm just out there throwing this idea to make a educated to determine what updates to install and what level of version, in the case where the generalized suspicion that I have described above have no worth.
I don't have (or want) data enabled on the 9630, then, have screen capture or copied the text that he (like all the information in the Options > topic: "BlackBerry (R) 9630, smartphone (3G, CDMA), v5.0.0.419 (Platform 4.2.0.179)", 3G bands 1... "") ([and, or course, there is much more information on this screen...]) me (any suggestion or help on this front would be greatly appreciated) have so far escaped... perhaps the most relevant appliance version information required by the members of the forum to help me to decide this question also appear in my PC screenshots below.
Here's what I left over on my PC from my relationships with my BB Storm 9530 3 years ago:
Thank you, FFF
Hello! Thanks for the clarification... they help greatly to understand your request. Here is my opinion:

In simpler terms... should I upgrade my TELUS Tour 9630 software (currently at: v5.0.0.419 [Platform 4.2.0.179] of the most currently available software, regardless of the version # / platform # which may be?)
Or, is it an advantage in the upgrade only to a certain level of version of BlackBerry OS on this particular device?
For your 9630, you're already on the last level of operating system that fate/Telus media. I don't know if other carriers have published anything more advanced, but you can read a very good discussion here:
Of after what I saw, I would assume that there is nothing 'new' than you... at least not officially... but you can dig through the portal to download official to validate the fact that:
Given that it's carriers who hold responsibility for the release of BB OS packages to their clients, this portal is indeed sorted first by carrier... so you must first dig to find out which carriers support your 9630 and then compare packages of OS coming to present each company support. Unfortunately, it is also the responsibility of carriers to release change log information, but too much of them is rather lax on this point. But this thread I linked to above has I think some very good information that could help you in your quest. You should also look for other threads here (and elsewhere) on similar topics.

And, I had to upgrade the driver USB BlackBerry / USB Serial Driver / Device Manager / Desktop Manager software on my XP Pro SP 3 PC to newer versions? (1st post screenshots all present the current version # s... this software was installed all around mid-2009)
Or, is there an advantage in upgrading only at certain levels of version of the BlackBerry software for each of the above elements... in the case of this particular device?
Desktop software does not care the specific device. On the contrary, it gives some capabilities that you choose. For example, if you need the ability to export your BB to CSV/ASCII, then you need to stay in the range of version 6 because this feature has been removed from version 7. Similarly, if you intend to synchronize your BB with a computer (-) office or PIM, you must make sure that you run a Desktop software version that is compatible with your PIM:
- KB12268 Support for synchronization for BlackBerry Desktop Software for Windows
If none of those that are important and/or compatibility is fine with the latest version, it is often wiser to stick to the latest bug fixes, feature enhancements, etc. Is doesn't want to is not to say that people have no problems with the latest version through the Desktop board software on this site is confirm that pretty quickly! But, in general, there should be no harm/no foul to the use of the latest version of the with your BB desktop software.
In addition, it is always a good idea to also download and install on your PC the BB OS package that is actually running on your BB. This is a little personalized Desktop software so that it can better work with your specific environment of BB. You cannot choose which components within the desktop software you want to update (mentioning "point line" you did)... instead, you install the whole package, and it contains within everything there as 'in progress' based on the global version of the Desktop software package.
Hope that helps! Good luck!

BlackBerry Smartphones Desktop Version of the calendar?
I just bought a Curve 8330 from Sprint, but I chose not to buy the data plan. I just want to use the BlackBerry as a calendar/Organizer/phone.
Is there a computer version of the BlackBerry calendar program? I would like to enter the dates and events on my computer and have my BlackBerry sync to that without having to use the Internet.
I have Outlook 2000 on my computer. I know this is old, but that work? I was hoping that the BlackBerry came with a computer version of its own calendar program.
Thanks for any help!
Nate
Welcome to the forums
The blackberry is not a computer calendar that you can install. It is designed to work with Outlook, Outlook Express, Lotus Notes and ASCII files for syching. The Destop Manager v4.2 SP1 is designed to work with outlook 2000: http://na.blackberry.com/eng/services/desktop/req_4dot2_sp1.jsp
A download link is on the page.
See you soon,.

BlackBerry Smartphones installed DM6, previous version remains
Hello. At the risk of asking a stupid question, I installed DM6 yesterday and was surprised to find that it has not replaced the previous version. The old version is still there and the device. Is there a reason I should keep it, or do I just uninstall it?
Also, this is normal behavior, or something weird on my particular installation?
Thank you for the ideas!
Hello
Yes, you can go ahead and uninstall the old version of the BlackBerry Desktop Manager software on your computer.
Thank you
