Unusable slow of the macbook pro at the start of the internal drive
Hello
A couple of days my macbook pro (mid 2012 13 inches) has become unusably slow. Nothing doing, even just by clicking on the desktop would give the minutes of spinning beach ball.
To troubleshoot I tried the following:
Safe mode: same questions, constant beach ball
Apple Hardware Test (extended test): no found error.
Booted in single user mode and drive repaired using fsck: I got the message 'volume (name) seems to be OK. "
Finally, I started again in mac os x and the console have pulled up to see if I could find something.
I found an online "localhost kernel [0]: disk0s2: i/o error." at the same time my problems began. Due to this I thought that my drive was dying.
After installing a new disk and hang the old an external, I decided to start just to see what would become of the former.
To my dismay, it worked perfectly, smooth as butter and no rotation beach ball.
So I think that's not the drive that is at fault.
What else could be the problem and how would approach I find it.
Thank you
Alex
I have the same problem on my Macbook Pro, which also runs on OS X Yosemite. and is the same model.
It starts very well I can access my files for about 2 minutes and then it freezes and slows down just. This is for me the wheel of death of Rainbow forever, regardless of how long I left my Macbook on the race. I have nothing to cause this problem, he slowed down just in itself, but I can still access my files
I tried to search for this problem on the internet, but there is no help for this issue at all or not so much information about it.
Docking station opens, but Rainbow wheel does not disappear and the freeze continues.
I tried both SCM and reset the PRAM, but that did nothing.
Can someone help us? I would like it to go faster still.
* UPDATE *.
He seemed to have solved my problem!
I left my Macbook to run while loading slowly after sign in about 20 minutes. Then all of a sudden the Finder came back and it seems to work fine... for now... give that a try.

I have a macbook pro with only 128 GB of hard drive. I installed lightroom and all my photos on an external hard drive. Can I keep my library on the external hard drive also lightroom?
Yes. Find LR catalog file in Edit/settings/general catalogue. Close LR and go to this place. The catalog file is one that ends by .lrcat - move it where you want. Beside the .lrcat file is a subfolder called Previews.lrdata. You can move, but if you don't not LR will generate new insights. Double-click the .lrcat file in her new home and LR will open with this catalogue. Set preferences in more recent catalogue.

How can I find out which slows down my macbook pro
How can I find out which slows down my macbook pro? What is running?
Download and run EtreCheck, created by one of his own assistants here in CSA. It is a diagnostic tool that is very useful for us to find problems. It will also give us additional specifications on your Mac. After his execution after the logfile here. It will never contain any personal information.

MacBook Pro does not start. Tried a lot of things, but no luck. Ideas?
MacBook Pro mid 2012 does not start. Getting the various screens of gray. When trying to make right boot, get flashing folder.
Other things does not: recovery of OS X, without failure, verbose mode, Boot Manager, single-user mode. IRA to the re-establishment of the Internet, enter the password, stall (error - 2002F-).Tried to reset the memory NVRAM and SMC, but nothing.
Tried with the new hard drive, but accurate results same with the old hard drive (I thought that the old hard drive can be damaged, so got a new one, but get the same results).
Any ideas? Could go to the Apple service center, but closer to here where I am is 3 hours away.
Should note that there are many attempts Mac starts up fine (by divine intervention I think), so saved all all on, but after computer use as usual for an hour (especially Internet browsing using Safari and Chrome), computer slowed to snail pace, so tried to restart but still got results above.
Any help or ideas greatly appreciated. Thank you!

MacBook Pro OS 10.8 retina no DVD drive, how to load drivers for HP PhotoSmart Premium C310 please?
We do not have the software 10.8 HP for your printer posted on hp.com and yet, once that happens, you can just download and install. You don't need to do it though, in order to get your printer running on your new Mac. Simply connect your printer, on the sur le meme same wireless network or via a USB cable, add in printing and fax and let the operating system find and install the software from the Apple software update. You will be able to the printer and scanning will however be of Image Capture.

I tried for almost a week in all possible ways to get windows installed on a boot camp partition on my main SSD 1 TB drive as a partition, or on my HARD drive, which is installed in place of the optical drive. So far, everything I tried to give me some sort of error at some point in the process. It seems that many of them are case by case, so I thought that I invite you all and see if you can help!
I use a Macbook Pro 15 "mid-2010 that I improved with a 1 TB SSD drive as the startup disk. My optical drive was not functional, so I moved my old 500 GB HARD drive to the location of the optical Bay. I am also under the latest version of El Capitan (10.11.6)
Here are my system specs:
Presentation of the material:Model name: MacBook Pro
Model identifier: MacBookPro6, 2
Processor name: Intel Core i7
Processor speed: 2.8 GHz
Number of processors: 1
Total number of cores: 2
(By heart) L2 Cache: 256 KB
L3 Cache: 4 MB
Memory: 8 GB
Processor speed of interconnection: 4.8 GT/s
Boot ROM version: MBP61.0057.B11
Version of the SCM (System): 1.58f17
What I tried (from what I remember):
I tried to change the Bootcamp info.plist file for my version of the macbook pro to use a USB stick for the installer. It seems to have installed correctly but once I partition the disk and restart the computer, it gets stuck on a white screen with the Apple logo and I am forced to make a hard stop and then hold down option to boot into OS X, recovery, or the EFI Boot.
If I go through the windows installation to start the EFI system, I get an error of:
"Windows cannot be installed to this disk. The selected disk is a MBR partition table. On EFI systems, Windows cannot be installed on GPT disks. »I also tried to create a partition by using disk utility, and that too made me an error in the installation of windows.
So far, the only way that I'm away from windows to run at all has been using the free trial of VMware Fusion 8... but I intend to use windows for more intensive tasks like audio pro, and merger simply does not offer the performance necessary to run these programs. I'm hoping to install windows 8.1 on my internal SSD or HARD drive, regardless of the work - as long as OS X and files associated with it are left alone.
If someone could help me please understand this point, I would really appreciate it!
Thank you
If your computer has an optical drive, you must use the optical drive to install Windows using Boot Camp Assistant.

MacBook Pro 13 '' end 2015. 256 GB SSD drive. El Capitan last version 10.11.4. I turned on the Macbook Pro and it could not start. The progress bar with the Apple Logo would be present but would end not showing the symbol «» I tried to boot mode safe - no go. I have not reset PRAM help. I was able to access disk utility and run successfully the first aid. No help. I was unable to restore two separate backup. The utility show me backups however when I would go to the next screen and no backup is available. Disk utility displays the SSD. Can I erase the disc and download OS X install? Thank you.
At this point, there is no need to delete. A new copy of Mac OS X can be installed directly over the old copy. This process replaces the components of Mac OS X on a file by file basis and adds missing ones, there will be no major throwing away what anyone, unless there is a power failure.
You have already run disk first aid.
Now use mode of recovery (command + R to start) to "Re-install Mac OS X. It should install the latest revision of the main version that you ran last.

help my macbook pro retina 13inch started itself and turned off while in the case
as the title, my Macbook pro retina (bought in 2014) is transformed and then turn off 5 minutes later while in his case today, I only noticed after reviewing the event log and seeing a start and stop. How can this happen? the Mac was definitely off not asleep and I did not put a timer.
It is unusual for a Mac to act this way, but this is not the first time that I heard about what's going on.
It looks like a problem SMC and is easily fixed by a reset see here reset management system (SCM) controller on your Mac - Apple Support this will most likely solve the problem.
If this isn't the case, then it could be a simple sticky switch?
A visit to a Genius Bar is perhaps a good idea if the SMC reset does not work for you, and a new OSX installation did not help.

gauge the battery to the boot screen and battery on report menu conflicting Details about the level of the battery. The gauge from the battery to the Starter incorrectly displays the low battery level that prevent the start of the battery. This happens on macbook pro retina 13 inches
When I try to startup macbook pro retina in battery mode, it will fail to start showing low battery level and an indicator to recharge the battery. It does not start on battery. When I then connect via the power cable at startup (and check the battery level), monitor of battery in the menu bar indicates that the battery is charged to the top.
It gets really frustrating and remove my ability to use the macbook pro retina as a truly portable device...
Appreciate any help on this
