Unwanted trashing of deleted email files

My deleted files are dumped on every 1-2 weeks.  How can I stop this and protect my files dleted to be trashed until I'm ready to do it myself?

The trash is not empty on its own, you probably have a cleanup utility that's supposed to or you have scheduled the disk cleanup tool to run on a regular basis.  Look in Control Panel > scheduled tasks to see if there is anything there.

    General file recovery

    If you stop using the drive, it is possible to recover files that have not been overwritten by using the recovery software such as MAC Data Recovery, Data Rescue II, recovering files or TechTool Prodeleted.  Each of the previous ones come on a bootable CD for use without risk of writing, more data on the hard drive.  Two free alternatives are disc drill and TestDisk.  Look for them and demos to MacUpdate or CNET downloads. Recovery software generally provide trial versions that allows you to determine if the software would help before actually paying for it. Beyond that, or if the drive has completely failed, you must send the drive to a recovery service which is very expensive.

    The hard drive remains the most widely used and the data are recorded, the greater the chance that your deleted files will be overwritten.

  • Why the trash has not deleted a file? Where is he?

    Hello. Using Vista Business SP2.

    I did drag a file on the desktop in a window of the trash. I had the SHIFT while dragging. I drop the icon above the trash window.

    The file has literally disappeared. He is gone from the desktop. Never, he appeared in the trash to delete. Where is he? Is it deleted?

    Thank you.

    Hello

    If you hold the SHIFT key when you delete a file, you go around using the Recycle Bin.

    If you want an item to be sent to the trash, you can also > right-click on > select Delete > so it's in the trash if you want to restore it at a later Date for a reason, or delete "permanently".

    Now the SHIFT key by using the above method also allows to bypass the Recycle Bin.

    See you soon.

    Access your webmail site, sign in to your account, see if these emails are still there. If so, remove them.

    If you are the only user, clear the option that says "leave a copy of messages on the server.
    Assuming you are using Windows Mail...
    Open Windows mail > tools > accounts > your account > properties > advanced. Uncheck 'keep a copy of messages on the server' > OK for the benefits of others looking for answers, please mark as answer suggestion if it solves your problem.

    I deleted the files in my trash, I need back them, how can I do this?

    Hello

    You may be able to recover the files deleted using the component of previous Versions.

    1. open the Windows Explorer and navigate to the folder where the files are stored.

    2 right click the folder and select the restore previous Version in the menu.

    3 in the previous dialog, select a version with a date and time before when you deleted the files.

    4 select the copy button. Select the desktop as the location for the copy , and then click the copy button.

    5 go on the desktop, open the copied file and search for the files.

    If the files are there, move them out of the folder copied to the desktop. You can then delete the copied, previous version of this folder.

    Let us know the results.

  • Deleting the files from unwanted program

    I uninstalled a program, but I can't delete the files. When I "think" I deleted (recycle emptied) they reappear later. How can I get these on my computer? Oh, and it still shows on my installed programs (w/34.5 MG program sometimes stays, but no msg is used) and when I click on uninstall, it says there is no such file or directory. But there are? Me sorry I tried the shareware.  They are in c:/user/programfiles /-programs are PC Confidential by Winferno, SRS Studios and Stardock Objectdock.

    Hello
    Assuming that you have uninstalled via the Control Panel, software (not only deleted the folder of the application) it might help to reinstall the offending application and uninstall it right afterwards.
    Kind regards

  • I can't delete emails from my Inbox

    I can't delete emails from my Inbox

    Confirm that the "Deleted" folder is empty.
    Right click "Deleted" (which might be called "Trash") folder and select "Delete empty."

    It is a POP or IMAP Inbox email account?

    As we know not if there is no corruption on the Inbox, please create some duly named folders and move all the good emails sought in these cases.

    Then, when the Inbox has that unwanted emails - no you don't mind to lose - just right-click on the Inbox folder and select "Compact".

    Assuming that you haven't lost any email, try to remove them.
    Right-click on an e-mail in the list, then select 'Delete Message'
    OR
    Select an e-mail so that it displays in the messages pane, and click the button 'delete '.

  • How to permanently delete emails from my computer?

    When we remove the trash on Thunderbird emails, are they removed and replaced (such as Secure Empty Trash on a Mac), or are they still recoverable from somewhere on the computer? If the latter, how can you completely delete and overwrite the deleted emails from the Thunderbird trash folder?

    Thank you

    Beachwalk43

    Simple: compact your trash folders after deleting.

    You might close Thunderbird, ferret on his profile and remove garbage files, and of course you are free to use all of the 3rd party utilities for scrubbing erased files.

    I read users who run Firefox in the batch that deletes all the files that can store data in the session after Firefox has been closed. You may be able to adapt and adopt this approach too.

  • where can I retrieve deleted email I have accidentally deleted not in the folder

    I've tried to condense my account yesterday and so I put the empty deleted folder and I forgot to Ineed some thing back, I went to the basket, he is ' t their, please help

    Re your deleted email, I think you're probably out of luck, if not in the files, including the deleted items folder and/or the trash folder.

    What e-mail program?  If webmail, you can request assistance from your e-mail provider.

    If Hotmail, try http://windowslivehelp.com/

    Good luck...

  • Where will my deleted emails? OE

    OS = XP. Server IMAP (1and1). After a few household on Outlook Express 6, I deleted a large number of files. I also go to Tools/Options/Maint/Clean Up Now and emails compacted. Nothing is checked in the Maintenance tab. Now, all the emails that I remove from OE stopped going to the basket. They simply disappear. I can drag emails to trash and they are visible. I have remove usually by highlighting the button Delete email (s) and pressing, then later to purge. To try to fix it, I deleted the "imap 1and1.deleted messages dbx' and 'delete items dbx '. But the I deleted files have disappeared, the .dbx file that they were in did appear to reduce much (or at all). I restarted. If I delete e-mails from 1and1 webmail they go in the trash and are visible on OE. I hope I gave you enough information to help out me. 1and1 tried but it was useless, I'm afraid. Thank you very much. Sue

    I'm unsure of your Setup, as I don't know is that 1and1, and OE has a record of spam itself.  Ensure that messages you delete are not just being scored in reading and you have the updated files to read messages to hide | Current view.  If this isn't the issue, then try to go to the file. Identities and setup a new identity to give you a new message store and then add your accounts here and see if they behave properly.  If so, then use file | Import | Messages to bring them from the old identity.

  • Outlook express 6 will not let me delete emails

    I can't delete emails from my Inbox on my outlook file Express 6. I can read them and then they show that I have, however none will remove.

    [I swear to you that I had already answered in this post!]

    1. move all the messages that you want to keep out of the folders Inbox, sent items and deleted items and in other local OE folders have created you for archiving (backup) of such messages.

    2. Note the location of the store of your identity (http://www.insideoe.com/files/store.htm#storemain).

    2B. turn on "Show hidden folders and files" via start | Control Panel | Folder options | View (see http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/tutorial62.html).

    3. close OE.

    4. in Windows Explorer, navigate to your storage folder, find & delete the files Inbox.dbx , Outbox.dbx, Sent Items.dbxand Deleted Items.dbx.

    5 empty the trash.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    To avoid such problems in the future, comply with the following restrictions:
    N ' not use Inbox or sent items to archive messages.  Move them to local folders created for this purpose.
    -Empty the deleted items folder daily.
    -Frequently perform a manual compact of all OE while records that "work offline".  More on http://www.insideoe.com/files/maintain.htm
    -Do not cancel automatic compacting, where it would happen and do not try to close OE via Manager tasks or stop your Automatic compaction machine can take place.
    -Disable e-mail scanning in your antivirus application.  It can cause corruption (i.e., loss of messages) and offers no additional protection:
