Unwanted Web site still load before the home page

Whenever I open Firefox, or a new tab, another Web site load before loading the page you want. It was a legitimate website, not malware, spam or something like that.

Hello, you can try to reproduce this behavior when you start firefox in safe mode, once? If not, perhaps an addon intrudes here...

You can change your shortcut on the desktop Firefox with two starting URLS. To try:

    • Shortcut on the desktop: right-click on the icon, choose Properties
    • Icon taskbar pinned: clic click right on the icon, right click in Mozilla Firefox, click on properties

Windows normally selects the shortcut tab. If this is not the case, go ahead and click on the shortcut tab.

You will see the target highlighted. On 64-bit Windows, which is usually either not less the following:

    "C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe"

For the specific shortcut launch pages, you can add them to the end, for example:

    "C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe" -url "http://www.dilbert.com/" -url "http://www.gocomics.com/pearlsbeforeswine"

After OK'ing the Properties dialog box, you can test everything right now to confirm that Firefox is now launching a window with tabs. Either:

    • Double-click the shortcut on the desktop
    • right click on taskbar icon pinned, click Mozilla Firefox

    If so:

    • If your home page setting is correct, one of your extensions may be overriding your setting. Open the page modules using either:

      • CTRL + SHIFT + a
      • "3-bar" menu button (or tools) > Add-ons

In the left column, click Extensions. Then, when in doubt, turn off, or if evil obvoiusly, remove. Often, a link will appear above at least an extension disabled to restart Firefox. You can complete your work on the tab and click one of the links in the last step.

    If not:

If the problem only occurs when you use your Firefox shortcut icon /, it could be hacked. Right click > properties > Shortcut tab. The 'target' for 32-bit Windows 7 should be it (no more, no less):

    "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe"

If anything else follows, try to remove it.

You're better off use the Chromedit Plus had extension to play with 3 user folders, such as Firefox 4 and later versions do not even have the required folder \chrome\ and the example - files of this version of Firefox. The user must create this folder itself, as well as files, too - Chromedit Plus takes care of this for you and gives you an interface in the window of Firefox to edit these files, so that a reset button in order to test your changes more conveniently-close Firefox, change the user to a remote folder file and save it, then open Firefox to check change the work - and when it is not the process all over again.

    Recommendations or thoughts?

I just talked to my host, and there is no option to make non case sensitive links... Strange because I searched I found some linux servers claim to have this option, perhaps not. . I think that what I'll do is just to change Windows hosting, as I hear it. Most of the site is just happy and will never need anything in particular, who need Linux or other
