Update a reference

I have a Heisenbug (a bug that disappears when you look at it closely).

I use the user to input text control. Elsewhere in the program that I use a reference to the control to get the value. When I use it in a loop, I can't get the Value property to fill a text indicator. When I put a probe debugging on this, it works fine.

I guess it has something to do with the logic that updates Windows widgets. The code that updates the debug probe also forces the correct behavior in the program. How can I force this update occur without debug probe?

I found that if I used the property of Text.Text, it worked as expected. I guess that the Value property is not updated until the end of the input (Enter key or when the focus is changed).

  • Update the reference in the structure of the event

    Hello

I would really appreciate if someone can help me with the next issue:

I have a main VI with the structure of the event in the while loop.

There is a case of a button initiating the Subvi, which extends an engine.

To stop the loop inside the Sub - VI I pass a strict type reference him out of the main façade of VI.

The problem is that in the event structure is not updated to reference, i.e. on press the abort button I can't stop the engine.

The strange thing is that, without the structure of the event (only in time loop) it works. I try to put the button on the outside another loop: it does not depend on it. Without the structure of the event - everything works.

I want to create a new edition of a book that has many files component (chapters), but keep the old one intact. The files of the components have many cross references. Is it possible to easily all these cross references updated to their new location?

Unfortunately, no, for references interfile since links are absolute and will always point to the original files until you change them.

  • Numbered update cross-references blocks InDesign CS4 CS6 and

I have a major medical journal that has a hundred references, I met with the thought that the customer can insert or change the references. I was correct and the client has now several references to go, I have updated the first in the list numbered at the end and disappeared to "update the cross-refernce" and InDesign crashes. I tried this in CS6 and CS4 but both crash.

You could try exporting as IDML and opening the IDML and saving it under a new name.

  • What is the best way to update the references to file after a move?

I have a Photoshop Elements catalog picture with about 25 k images all pointing to a network share I call \\thehive. I moved, or sync'd if you want, all the files in the network share \\thehive on a drive of local storage for better performance, which is now located on P:\ drive. I intend to treat the P drive as my main drive that reads the catalog and use \\thehive network simply as a clone of the P drive that I intend to keep in sync with SyncToy. I have already all this configuration in place, the files are sync'd on the drive P and \\thehive, everything works as expected so far. But how to do to update the catalog so that it starts from the P drive instead of the \\thehive? A photo today points to \\thehive\2008\somepicture.jpg, and I need to point to P:\2008\somepicture.jpg.

I'm a very advanced computer user, I could edit an XML file or do some advanced operations not supported if I had to. Would appreciate your thoughts and suggestions.

The fastest way is to directly edit the values in the catalog.pse9db database.  The database is a database SQL Lite, so if you know (or know someone who knows) how to run SQL queries against a database, you have the chance because Adobe has done a great job of a highly normalized database schema design.

I highly recommend this tent first on a copy of your database.  In general, the procedure goes like this:

    1. Add one of your images on the P: drive in the catalog.  This establishes a list for the P: drive and its identification in the volume_table table.
    2. Run a SQL query on the table of volume_table to see a list of all the lines.
    3. Note that the values in the column 'id' for your volume "the thehive" and one "P:".
    4. Run a SQL query on the media_table table to update the value of the id_volume column, replace all instances of the id number "the thehive' with the identification number of the reader"P: ". The SQL query will look something like this:

    Update media_table

    Set volume_id = "."

    where volume_id = "."

I tested with PSE9.0.3 on Win7, changing the location of a CD on my E: drive on a USB on my F: drive.

    Good luck!

  • Update of an indicator on the VI main while executing a under VI

    Hello

I was wondering if you could help me with the following.

I have a VI sub that basically reads a text file and sends it to the serial port. What I would do is update a bar (indicating how much of the file has been read/sent) progress on the VI main while this VI subroutine is running. I would also like to update a text box on the main VI to display the data read in the text file.

I need to keep so I intend to use the sub on other projects LabVIEW VI modular.

Who is the most logical way to do this? By the way I want each control to update in reference? Or is there a better way?

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Kind regards

  • Impossible to update the common Assembly of 8.1 to 8.6

    Hello

I develop c# code to interface directly with my Renault NI.  There are some examples of excellent for .NET code with DAQmx drivers; for example, AcqOneVoltageSample.2005.

Unfortunately, I have recently updated my DAQmx, which updated the Assembly of NationalInstruments.Common of 8.1.20.616 to 8.6.35.131.  It is not surprising, when I try to open any project example .NET, as the AcqOneVoltageSample.2005, a dialog box with the logo of National Instruments appears entitled "update project references" and asking me to check that I update the referenced version of NationalInstruments.Common from 8.1.20.616 to 8.6.35.131.  I say 'Yes' and check that the assembly is referenced in the solution has indeed been changed to 8.6.35.131.

But now, the solution will not compile.  Specifically, the compiler (Visual Studio 2008, compilation under NET2.0) get two errors:

    (1) the type 'NationalInstruments.ISynchronizeCallbacks' is defined in an assembly that is not referenced.  You must add NationalInstruments.Common version 8.1.20.616

    (2) the type 'NationalInstruments.ISupportSynchronizationContext' is defined in an assembly that is not referenced.  You must add (same as above).

Both errors refer to the code that instantiates the DAQmx.Task object, even if it is defined in the common version 8.6.

I checked that new version 8.6 the common is properly referenced.  When I remove that reference and add the older version 8.1 it compiles properly.  I tried to rebuild the solution, delete the .bin and .obj directories and reconstruction, by checking the option "local copy" when you reference version 8.6... nothing works.  I don't see anything special in the assembly.cs.  I can compile using the last Assembly NationalInstruments.DAQmx 8.7.20.11, just not the new NationalInstruments.Common Assembly.

How can I get the sample files .NET for Visual Studio 2005 to compile with the new versions of NationalInstruments.Common against the. NET2.0 library?

    Thank you

    -Jim

    Jim,

You reinstall the DAQmx Driver after the installation of Measurement Studio? You will need to reinstall the drive and make sure that you choose to install support for Measurement Studio.

  • FPGA VI reference number

    Hello guys,.

I have a question/problem about the FPGA VI reference.

My situation: I have the state machine on my system in real time, calling successively the different bitfiles. To break it down into two different bitfiles.

In situation 1, I call a bitfile and I like to read analog values and I use I2C.

In State 2, I call a bitfile, read the same as in State 1 and besides I do other stuff on the FPGA.

Since I use a lot subVIs on my RT system, my FPGA references are related to type 2 different defs, so that I don't have to update the reference "FPGA VI" - indicators and orders by myself, if I use a slightly updated bitfile up-to-date version. But now, I have a problem, if I use the same Subvi 'read I2C' for bitfile 1 and 2, that it does not work, because controls of type def are different. If I linked the two bitfiles to the same type definition, I get a red dot of coercion to the Subvi of entry and read/write inside functions do not work.

Does anyone have an idea? I don't want to copy the Subvi and exchange all indicators reference inside...

    Kind regards

    Slev1n

    Well, you can have both...

You can perform a cast of dynamic type only if necessary (before your subVIs shared as I2C) and use the static references to the unrequited subVIs.

You could use a typedef for the FPGA ref in your Subvi I2C (with only the common subset used in the Subvi) and use the typedef as the cast function.

  • Get a reference of Subvi w/o using Open VI reference

Is there a way to create a reference of VI without specifying the path to the file/folder to the open VI VI Refrence?  I would have thought I could right-click on a Subvi in a diagram and Create goto-> similar to the controls and indicators reference.

My only problem with the specification of the location is the name of the VI must be hard coded in the path.  If ever I change the name of this VI special I'll have to remember to update my string constant.

You can use a static VI reference. I didn't check, but because it's treated as a Subvi should update the reference if you're doing a "save under...". "of the LabVIEW Subvi.
