Update BIOS and Tecra A9 - no sound with Win 7

Hello

I installed Windows 7 from a Tecra A9 laptop and everything works fine except the sound. Sound card for Windows 7 driver is already installed. The speakers and the microphone is detected. While playing music in sound devices the green bar under the speakers raises up and down, but I can't hear anything.

I read that the update of the BIOS can help, but it does not work under Windows 7, with a Live CD of Windows XP or in Windows XP Mode for Windows 7.

I don't want to reinstall Windows XP.

-Does anyone know how to get the sound working properly?

Have you checked it with headphones?
Have you noticed the same thing?

To be honest I don't think THAT BIOS will change anything on this subject. If the audio driver is installed correctly, check that all the settings in Windows and also in Audio DD Realtek Audio Manager.

    Dear members

I have Tecra A10 - IC5 (- ptsb0e - 03d01ken) and have * windows 8 * installed on it. It was my wish to update the bios with the latest version.

Therefore I sailed on the Toshiba site and, using the tool of detection to Toshiba, was directed at the list drivers for my model.

The list of the drivers included updating the bios, and it has been designated as "independent operating system".
So I downloaded and unzipped the file and started the program.
    BIOS (2009110452403)

However, as soon as I did the program abruptly ended with the message "this computer is not supported.

In this regard, I want to ask for advice - could someone please tell me what I need to do to update the bios

    Thank you

I can see BIOS version 3.00WIN is available for your Tecra.
You want to install this version? You can install it on any OS except Win8.

If I m remembering well Toshiba offers updates for Win8 BIOS and all available versions starting with version 6.0 or higher.

Is there a problem with your Tecra and some reason for the BIOS update?

How can I get close to it.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello

I think the problem is that the update of the bios (which is using windows) doesn't work under XP, so won´t you luck because it takes a working XP and common modules installed on your machine.

Unfortunately there is no other way to update your bios, but in your case it s is NOT necessary update the bios since the new version adds not important functions. So I think that it s not a BIG problem, and if your computer is running well, then ' that one ' and follow the good old "never change a system up and running.

  • Updating BIOS for Tecra A2

    Hello!

I'm trying to update the BIOS on a Tecra A2 and I need help. I downloaded the current version (1.40 - WIN) and then extracting the zip file to copy on a diskette as instructed, the package extracts from 1.84 MB! Obviously this will not keep on a floppy disk, so how can I perform the update?

According to the installation instructions this model no is not upgraded to Windows - if the version name contains WIN (?)

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Itsame.

I'm agree with sascha BIOS update published on the Toshiba page focuses on the victory of BIOS and this can ONLY be changed during the execution of a Windows operating system.

So download the BIOS, unzip and then run it the exe file

  • Updating BIOS on Tecra M10 - Install2 does not work

    Hello
    I have a Tecra M10 - 13L with Vista Business SP2 32-bit installed.

I tried to update my BIOS from v1.6 to the currently available in download v3.0 "bios - 20091104152403.zip" page support and unpacked "P0065v300.exe", dated to the 4.11.2009. When I run the program, I always get the message windows "install2 does not work" and that the process is abandoned.

In the C:\TOSHBIOS folder. UPD, I found an install2.exe dated 12.08.09 which seems is decompressed from the bios update file.
Any ideas how the update can be done?

I already loaded the update servers diferent BIOS file and tried several times, but its still the same problem.

    Hello

Why do you update the BIOS?
Is there something wrong with the laptop?
BIOS should be updated only if you have a problem. If the laptop works well, then I wouldn't update this

However, I found three BIOS for Tecra M10 v3.0
    -bios - 20091104172541.zip
    -bios - 20091104152403.zip
    -bios - 20091103164158.zip

Try if one of the packages of the BIOS might be decompressed correctly and the exe file could be executed.

  • Question about updating Bios for Tecra M5

I bought the new tecra as M5 on May 12, 2006. I found the following bios updates.

    16/05/06 update BIOS Toshiba 1.50 - TRAD
    16/05/06 update BIOS Toshiba 1.50 - WIN

Should I go for this upgrade? Please recommend me.

    Hello

I na? don't know why you want to update the BIOS.
Your device is fairly new in this case I na? t see any direction update the BIOS.
Please note that the update of the BIOS is not without risk.
If you use a bad BIOS or bad BIOS procedure if you may damage the card and these laptop parts are not very cheap.

I agree with Flo. If your laptop computer is operating properly you shouldn't? t make the updates to the BIOS.

  • Portege 3410 - how to update BIOS and install XP?

Hello, I have two questions on Portege 3410.

First: I can't update the BIOS (current usage, 1.50 there, I want to update to 1.60). Instruction does not work: I connect Teac USB into USB port, turn on the USB - FDD emulation to activate, portable switch with pressed F12, the message «Ready to update BIOS...» "appears, I touch in a hurry, but nothing happened. What's wrong?

The other: I can't install Windows XP on laptop (it does not start from USB disk or external USB DVD drive).
    How can I install Windows?

    Thank you.
    Mikhail

    Hello

Just a question: why do you want to update the BIOS? Is this really necessary?
I ask this question because this update is always somewhat risky and you might damage it ROM module
In any case, have you tried to load the default settings in the BIOS before you start the update and install XP?

You can install XP without CD. Therefore, you must copy the folder i386 on the HARD drive from another computer and the boot to the HARD drive files, I think you need a little search with Google to find a workaround for this. You should find enough! ;)

  • Update BIOS of Tecra 8100

I try to get a DVD/CD to work my BIOS is outdated (2.30) so I download the last excerpt from BIOS (2.50) maybe the file, delete all devices PCMCIA cards etc, stop all programs and start than the windows upgrade.

He arrived in the 'screen now update the BIOS' and crashes.

Fortunately a restart is triggered the machine again (wonder what he did). A quick check tells that the BIOS is always 2.30

Run the traditional BIOS upgrade program and he writes some stuff for a dsiskette disk. Restart the machine from the floppy, and... nothing! "Just hangs their with A: > if I type DIR I get a directory, then the program is finished!

Restart (always miraculously OK), but BIOS 2.30

Should which, if any, the files I launch
    CHBIOSA. EXE
    CHGFIRMA. EXE
    Biofc32t.com

I relaunch the program windows and make sure the BIOS is still 2.3 (what is. No change there!)

What should I do to upgrade the BIOS?
    Is how important it?

Why not have it not executed automatically

    etc.

    Worried

    Hello

Sorry, but I'm a little confused. Can you please be more specific about the problem of CD/DVD disc?
Maybe you don't need any update to update BIOS.

Please refer to the BIOS update. He described the BIOS update procedure. I think you forgot to follow:

Turn on the computer laptop with the key (see photo below) that, depending on the keyboard layout, is located to the left of the space bar or to the right between the Alt Gr keys and INS. Press and hold until a short beep can be heard.

    Good bye

  • Computer laptop keyboard and mouse does not work (updated Bios and took the batttery)

    I have HP G60-530US.

I read all the posts that talked about updating the BIOS and then by doing a hard reset by removing the power cable and speaking on the battery and then hit the power button for a minute or simply to leave the computer for several minutes.

A lot of people seems to have solved their problems.  Not me.

I updated the BIOS and also did the hard reset like 10 times.  What other options are there?

I have Windows 7-64 bit.  This problem occurred after I did the updates windows 11/04/13 or 12/04/13.

Mouse power switch and the power button wifi button keys are the only ones that seem to work.

    Hello

Go back to the device, right click on the Device Manager and select uninstall - when it is finished, restart the laptop.

    Any change?

  • Windows installed the automatic windows update agent and I would appreciate help with the settings option in this newly installed agent update so no update never install or download unless I choose to do.

    Hello.

I have windows vista 32 bit home edition.

Today somehow automatically installed windows ' automatic update agent 747600226

I always keep my settings to check the updates but let me choose whether to update or install.

With this new "update automatic agent" which automatically installed on my system, I want to make sure I have place it properly so that it remains in the same way that I always have my settings but two settings (options), he checked, and are confusing for me to know what those checked settings will do.

I would like to help you with these settings to make sure that the update is still as I want.

Below chose correctly when the new program installed today.  That's how I still want the settings to be:

Look for updates but let me choose whether to update or install

Please let me know if I need to change all the options account required in addition to this update agent to ensure that only, I choose to update or install.

There are four options and a box is in two and I don't know if I should remove the check marks or not.

Here are the other four options that I need to know how to configure it so that only I have update/install.

Once again, the download automatic microsoft today (update automatic agent 7.4.7600.226) without asking for my incentive preset automatic update options and that's what I'm trying to make sure is set correctly so that nothing installs or updates without asking me or let me do.

Option 1: (this option is checked. If I leave it checked will be it install or warn me only?)

Give me updates recommended in the way I receive important updates.

Option 2: (this is not checked and am not worried about this one)

Allow all users to use installed on this pc.

    Option 3:
(this is checked and want to know if should uncheck; what I don't want is any what to auto install, but the wording of this option and option 1 are vague because of the "give me " so I don't know what it means or will do.)  If this box is left to it automatically update/install?)

Give me updates for Microsoft products and looking for new optional microsoft software when I update windows

Option #4 (this is not checked, and I am not concerned about this).

See the notification me detailed when new microsoft software is available.

Thank you very much for your help.

    Take care! :)

    Hello

The Windows Update automatically updates the updater (himself), regardless of your settings.

    1. Yes it will alert you so you can update or install.

    2. check if you need more of yourself (other users) to be able to select and install the updates.

    3. it will let you know when they become available.

    4. just gives the news of additional details about some of the updates.

Looks like you're ready for anything you like.

  • 200N updated Bios and drivers - where?

Where can you get free driver and Bios for Windows 7 updates.

Googled Pheonix for Bios and get directed to a site that will scan your system, which gives a list of the updates that you find that you have to pay $30 for the updates. Lenovo website does seem to be about 3000 200n 0769

No Win 7 support for the n200.
If there is no problem of "fan noise", do not update.

If the update to the most recent, run the update in Compatibility Mode
    for Vista.

If you have no current problems as an update of the bios
may fix, do not update, because there is a risk of update

If your laptop uses Nvidia Optimus (Intel + Nvidia GPU), try to download and reinstall the Intel HD graphics driver on the following link.

    http://ftp.HP.com/pub/SoftPaq/sp74501-75000/sp74569.exe

    When reinstalling, restart the laptop.
