  using Windows 7:

  Just plug in the USB key and then run the SPnnnnn.exe BIOS file downloaded from the Web site drivers HP.

  I guess that your new processor is faster. Right?

  I think that this BIOS (v2.0) is not released for Windows 7 and that it has also not been tested with Windows 7. This BIOS has published 21.01.2009 and Windows 7 was released on July 22, 2009. However, on the other hand it s not mentioned that this BIOS is not compatible with Win 7.

  Windows 7 drivers are not out on Sat A110, but this does not mean that you couldn't install Win 7 on this device. Of course, you can install the Win 7 system, but Toshiba does not provide any Win 7 software for this series.

  Back to BIOS update:
  In your case I would try not to update the BIOS if the laptop works properly.
  Why? Because the update of the BIOS is still a technique sensitive and you could damage it the motherboard if something goes wrong during the update of the BIOS.

  You can only update the BIOS to the operating system that came with the computer.  In your case, Vista.  This means that you need to perform a system recovery to return the computer to its original configuration.

• Rolling back recent updates to Bios, Vid, its driver

  In my attempt to get my Blu - Ray player to play Avatar BD, I followed the instructions and attempted to try to operate by updating the Bios, sound cards and video drivers. I received the new bios installed, new ati catalyst center installed graphics card drivers installed and sound and it still does not. In addition to this, the new drivers audio and video are spoil when I watch the video on my TV via hdmi. Before the update, when I have quand j' ai branche plugged my laptop to the TV via hdmi the sound would automatically change between the helmet speaker hdmi and s/helmet back when I unplugged the hdmi Jack.   To restore your system to where was go to the Control Panel, switch to the display of the icon and find the 'recovery' and go to the system restore. Follow the windows and choose a custom restore point to where coincide when everything worked normally.

  The BIOS is not affected by the Windows system restore, but if everything is back as it was, then let the new BIOS only.

  XP MCE drivers are the same drivers for Win XP Home or Pro.

  I use very long books and I've never updated the BIOS if not necessary. What laptop works well, OS stabile, why should I do it? I don t care if new BIOS update is available or not. I've always been skeptical about the updates to the BIOS. That's just my opinion.

  As far as I know, it is not possible to downgrade the version of the BIOS without special tools and it can be done by service partners. It is not easy to tell if the BIOS is responsible for this, but if possible, try to send us illustrated if BSOD errors.

  If I were you I backup all important data and reinstall the recovery image, configure OS for my needs, and make sure that everything is clean pre-installed. My experience with BSOD were always related software.

  I recently bought a Satellite L450-188 (number PSLY0E-03K019EN) running under Windows 7 64-bit

  I use the laptop with a DJ program called Rane Serato Scratch Live, I got latency usb problems, getting usb dropouts when I try to use the program on the smallest audio buffer position (which I expect to be able to do)

  When I contacted support at Serato team with my problem, they suggested that I run a program to check the time DPC on my laptop, when I presented the report to them, they said ACPI.sys was the origin of the problem and suggested that interest me to turn it off, but I wasn't too comfortable with that.

  The other suggestion was to try to find updates the bios for my laptop, but I'm not too set up with that sort of thing, and I'm worried I might damage the laptop maybe installing the wrong thing.

  Can someone give me advice on this topic, because I don't know what to do

  Normally the ACPI means Advanced Configuration and Power Interface and control options for energy savings.
  So if something is wrong with the ACPI.sys file I recommend reinstall Windows using Toshiba recovery disc.
  By the way: are you running pre-installed Windows version or another?

  Before you begin the BIOS update, close all running programs and extract all the files from zip archive. You start the update as an administrator and connect the AC adapter. Also, make sure that the battery is fully charged.
