Update for Win 7

I have a Dell laptop with Win Vista and I clean installed Win 7 Pro. I also have a desktop Dell with Win XP computer. Is it possible to use my Win Vista COA from my laptop to upgrade to Vista on my desktop?

That's right, the nature of the legal agreement.  It's a "OEM" copy, or the original manufacturer.  It is always unique and directly related only to this specific computer.  It may not be transferred or used on another computer.

If you bought Windows in a store directly, instead of coming up with the computer, then you can transfer and use it however you wish.  But since it is an OEM copy, he is stuck with this PC for ever.

Where can I order the CD Update for win 7 from the Toshiba site. Thank you

    Hello

You cannot order this disk from Toshiba.
You can order just a recovery disk. But if you laptop came with Vista, then the recovery disk contains the Vista OS and not Win 7.

If you want to use Win 7, you can buy this OS and then you could install it on the laptop. Win 7 drivers should be available on the European driver page

  • How to run Windows update for Win XP SP3 using Firefox

My desktop PC computer running windows XP with SP3. My spouse uses IE 8 for its browser. I use Firefox Version 24. for my browser. Previously, whenever we ran MS or Windows update it starts IE and works very well. IE 8 blew up and does more (execution errors). I tried to go to the site to update Windows using Firefox and he came back and told me that I had to use IE to launch Win update on an XP system. Is this true? I don't want to use IE at all. Is it possible to use Firefox to run Windows or MS update on my Win XP system? Thank you.

You cannot run windows update using Firefox because it uses controls ActiveX Firefox is not (and will never). Yes, then unfortunately use IE for Windows update.

  • Pvilion dv7 1210tx: want to update for win 7

Hi, I am eager to finally move from win vista to win7. I have the disk to upgrade of the original offer. I don't know if it is still valid. I chose to not upgrade vista well worked for me. However vista support is slowly stop. Google chrome gives more updates from April this year etc. What should I do to upgrade the computer. I have 32 bit, the original offer upgrade disk, and a store bought win 7 64 bit that is not associated with hp. I'm afraid I'm losing drivers such as the sound with Altec lansing among others. The computer has enough features to supprt this and it still works very well. I would like to keep it as a second computer for backup. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thank you Gary

If you have Win 7 64 bit IE is a never active key Code I'd install clean. At this point your computer would probably really use a new facility to make it run faster. If you are using Vista 32-bit, you can do an upgrade to 64-bit in any case. You can use Windows Easy Transfer to migrate files and settings, but not programs.

    https://www.Microsoft.com/en-US/Download/details.aspx?ID=14179

All applications installed at the factory and the drivers are in the folder in C:\swsetup. Vista 64 bit drivers will usually work on Windows 7, but HP supports a full range of Windows 7 drivers on this model:

    http://support.HP.com/IE-en/drivers/selfservice/HP-Pavilion-dv7-entertainment-notebook-PC-series/3837623/model/3893465

I don't think it's a major concern. It uses DDR2 memory and can be upgraded to 8 GB with 64-bit Windows but 4 GB DDR2 laptop modules are very expensive, while the 2 gig modules are cheap if she didn't 4 concerts I would switch to 4 gigs.

  • Update for Win XP Prof at home on Satellite A75 S209

I'm going through Win XP Home to Win XP Prof when I do, I get a message that the DVD may not work after the installation is complete. I continued and then I get a message that the file cannot be found. When I look at the CD, I find the right files when the installation is looking for it. I can't Win XP Prof to install completely and have now icons missing from my homepage and things are missing as my favorites in Internet Explorer. If I try to add the missing icons on the desktop or for Internet Explorer, I get messages indicating that they are there and I want to write. Can anyone help?

    Hello, Robert

During the upgrade of the operating system, the HARD drive will be the format and all the files, links and data are lost.
So if you need your old links in the IE Favorites you must copy these files in the folder

    C:\Dokuments and \Favorites Settings\ (your account)

If you n t use the Windows XP recover CD, but the CD version full of Microsoft, you need drivers Toshiba, tools and utilities for the correct operation of the laptop. All the necessary drivers, tools and utilities that you can find on the Toshiba site.

    Good bye

  • What, no new update for Win 7?

I checked my wife's Win7/64 computer and found that he had had no OS updates since March this year.  He was updating Security Essentials, but nothing else.  A manual Windows Update command shows the usual Panel, but the green bar just analyzes and scans, for hours.

I read that make a "standalone updater" update would fix this right, so I downloaded and executed Windows6. 1 KB3172605-x 64.msu.  He began and said he was "looking for updates on this computer... "but was done for well over an hour now.

    What is plan B, anyone?

The value "never search updates" automatic updates, restart and run KB3172605. :)

  • New update for Win 7 32 - bit XP - Windows Update will not, so have to do manual updates - that need me?

I updated from XP to 7 Edition Home Premium in mid-March and have tried since then to run Windows Update, but I get the ubiquitous endless "check updates". I spent hours trying all of the fixes I could find (and understand) with no luck. So I decided to just manually download at least the critical updates, but I have no idea of what updates I need. I have Service Pack 1 and my system is 32-bit. I have 13 updates installed that I downloaded and installed in March because they seemed like it might be useful (I don't remember what most of them were for the moment), but I stopped here because I really didn't know what I was doing, or what I needed and I went back to try to fix Windows Update , but I gave that up. So, does anyone have a list of updates I should keep Windows 7 works correctly? Or should I say to hell with it and download Windows 10? I know my time is short if this is my best option. Any thoughts, advice, ideas, help welcome.

It is not too hard to do. The value of the automatic updates to "never check updates" and then restart Windows. Download and install KB3020369 and KB3161608.

  • XP OEM update for win 7 OEM

I have a DELL laptop with windows XP (OEM) version. I intend to move from XP to Win 7.

I can install the OEM version of windows 7 replaces XP, the version of windows 7 retail being expensive.

Windows 7 operating system is available in online stores, including one I buy?

    Thank you

    Srinich

Nothing wrong with using the OEM system Builder Windows 10 license. As noted, you must perform a custom installation, you'd have to do anyway with the upgrade to Windows 7 retail.

Because Windows 7 is in limited stock because Microsoft ended sales in October 2013, this created demand due to its rarity. This means the retail boxed copies request a bonus, while the OEM System Builder copies remain affordable.

    Full version (retail):

-Includes the rights of transfer to another computer.

-Does not require a qualifying earlier version of Windows.

    -Expensive

    Upgrade version (detail):

-Includes the rights of transfer to another computer.

-require a qualifying earlier version of Windows.

-Expensive, but less expensive full version

    OEM System Builder version:

The OEM of Windows 7 versions are identical to the versions commercial full license with the following exception:

-OEM versions don't offer any free direct support from Microsoft technical support Microsoft

-OEM Licenses are tied to the computer first you install and activate it on

-OEM versions allow all hardware upgrades except for an upgrade to a different model motherboard

-OEM versions does not move directly from an older Windows operating system

There is nothing wrong to use it too, especially that all future versions of Windows will be full versions.

I get the message of this update kb3035583 to do, but I also shows the review of my history of update, KB3035583 has been successfully installed.  Thanks for any help and happy new year to all

KB3035583 is part of the 'Get Windows 10' application that Microsoft keeps pushing on Windows 7 and 8.1 systems.

Microsoft seems to periodically repeat this update - just in case anyone has uninstalled but I forgot to 'hide '.
