Update freezes at 0%

Hello. My computer has not worked for a while now.
My automatic updates have not been updated correctly, it remains
0% when I switch to the icon at the bottom bar. Also, when I try
restart my computer or l ' turn off it freezes in the
screen "Configuration of updates - please do not power off computer.
I left it on this screen once for 2 days and nothing happened. I have
also noticed that most of my programs / games no longer work with the
exception of programs such as pokerstars. I'm obviously not very well with
computers, but any help would be great.

I use Windows Vista: 32 operating system family Premium b.

This gives a shot:

1. download the Norton Removal Tool, save it to your desktop: ftp://ftp.symantec.com/public/english_us_canada/removal_tools/Norton_Removal_Tool.exe

2. close all open applications (that is, anything with an icon on the taskbar).

3. After completing some you have a copy of your handy product key, uninstall all Norton software (including LiveUpdate and everything Norton Add ons) via Control Panel | Programs | Uninstall a program (or Control Panel |) Programs and features, if you are using the classic view).

4 IMPORTANT! -Online activate Windows Firewall immediately after the restart.

NB: Now you're "working without a net": no to ANYTHING else online (e.g., navigation, reading e-mail, chat) until you have completed step #7 below!

5. right click on the file that you saved in step #1 above, and then select run as administrator.  DO TAP not your keyboard until the race ends, then restart.

6. do a clean install of the 2010 version of your Norton application, using your product ID & reboot: http://www.symantec.com/norton/support/kb/web_view.jsp?wv_type=public_web&docurl=20080514162318EN

TIP: Do not activate or install additional modules of Norton (for example, Norton Anti-Phishing) immediately.

7. manually and repeatedly run (Norton) LiveUpdate until you get a prompt "no update more".

8. for good measure, reset the IE advanced by http://support.microsoft.com/kb/923737

8 b. now reset Windows Update also:

NB: Access KB971058 via Internet Explorer (32-bit), not any other browser.

9 test.

  • Update freezes

    Guys and girls,

For the 3 latest updates of MacOs 10.11 my computer freezes during restart. After installation, it evolves into a dialog box which asks a selection and will not take any input. The only way out is to do a hard restart using the switch at the back of my iMac. The update seems ok and works fine after I restart the computer, but I'm about to download and install 10.11.6 and does not want to go through the problem again.

    Any thoughts?

    Hello

Start Safe Mode removes the system caches that can help.

Follow these steps to start in safe mode.

    1. Start or restart your Mac.
    2. As soon as you hear the startup tone, hold down the SHIFT key.
    3. Release the SHIFT key when you see the logo Apple appears on the screen.

After the Apple logo appears, this may take longer than usual to reach the login screen or your office. This is because your Mac performs a check of directory of your drive to boot in safe mode.

To leave safe mode, restart your computer without pressing any keys during startup.

If this does not help, the startup disk needs repair.

Start your Mac while pressing the command + R keys. From there, you should have access to construction in utilities to check and repair the drive if needed using OS X Recovery.

  • Windows Update freezes

    Hey guys,.
So I recently had a problem with XP Pro SP3 computer that works perfectly well in the normal tasks such as word processing, navigation, media, etc. I went to troubleshoot a Windows Update that I recently tried to install failed and Internet Explorer stops responding and freezes. So, here's exactly step by step what I do which creates this problem:

    (1) open upgrade from Windows (Internet Explorer then opens upwards)
    (2) Windows update site launches, but then a pop up asking to install something Microsoft is
    (3) I click on install
    (4) Internet Explorer freezes

Every time I open just Windows Update and let is sit here, it freezes within 30 seconds. Whenever I click on do not install, it freezes. The only way to get it is to stop the process. Norton Internet Security is installed, but I created a rule to allow the updates of Windows Installer and I recently installed updates (11/15/09) last Sunday and they have installed successfully, except one which was what I tried to solve the problems.

I already tried to re-registration of the Windows Update files, but also re-download of Windows Update and it still freezes. I am also able to navigate Internet Explorer perfectly on other sites with the exception of the Windows Update site. I ran scans and no viruses or malware were detected. The system is very healthy. Something to note is that the computer is on a domain. Please, if anyone out there has any ideas on what could be causing these constant freezes, let me know. Thank you.

After a reset of Internet Explorer, the Windows Update site would still freeze. So what I had to do was to go to manage add-ons in Internet Explorer or disabled toolbar Norton Confidential installed Norton Internet Security was installed on the computer. After you disable the toolbar, Windows Update site showed correctly with all of the updates I needed and properly installed. It's amazing how Norton Internet Security control is same with simple and legitimate services that are necessary for your system. This is the exact reason that I do not run full software suite like NIS. Thank you for your help. Problem solved.

  • Aspire M3400 won't boot to Windows 7 after Windows Update freeze

A couple of days, I restarted my PC and he tried to do a Windows Update Auto - saying "ready to set up Windows - do not turn off your computer. He froze then. When I turned off & on again once I'm said BSOD - STOP 0x0000007B messages. Whenever I have start Windows now whether attempts to run checkdisk - which finds several unreadable file record segments, then freezes before it can complete or it executes the Startup Repair which takes 1-2 hours to run, but solves nothing. None of the System Recovery options will work - I just get error messages - it can't seem to find the operating system. The eRecovery console has two options grayed out so I can't use it. I have no Windows 7 disks. I read that it might be the RAID controller causing problems? I tried to use a hard drive from my old PC - with Windows XP on it. As I repeated BSOD - the same error 07 b - until I changed the SATA to IDE mode. He then started in XP ok. However, leaving on IDE with my CD original HD (with Windows 7) means that he did nothing at all when I try & start. Any ideas?

If the update froze in the middle of treatment, the operating system is more than likely corrupt.  We offer you to try a recovery outside of Windows. If this does not work, you will want to look into obtaining a recovery media for your device. If you are in the United States, you can visit the Store of Acer.  If you are outside the United States we suggest to contact technical support in your region for further assistance in this matter.

It is also possible that the hard disk itself has not.
