• Cisco IOS IPS in router 2921/k9

  Hi all

  I have a router from Cisco 2921 box database (error C2921/K9) series with BAse IP IOS (IOS SL-29-IPB-K9) image. I want to activate the function of IOS IPS level on this router now. Based on the Cisco Document, I found that I need to purchase a license additional subscripton enale the IPS feature. My querry is-

  It will build on the IOS for basic IP base or do I have to change the IOS?

  If I need to buy the Licesne subscription, how can I get the part number and the cost for the same thing?

  Do I need to purchase any additional module for this as (NME-IPS-K9)?

  Hi Sunny,

  You do not need a module (however you might install a module instead function in IOS IPS).

  You need 2 licenses:

  1 - a 'security' for your 2921 license enable the IPS feature:

  SL-29-SEC-K9

  License security (paper) for Cisco 2901-2951 (the two system & spare)

  (if you don't have a router, but you can order it with the license as a Pack: CISCO2921-SEC/K9)

  2 - a signature subscription license, which is part of a contract of "services to SPI.

  A "services for IPS" is essentially a SmartNet contract (including the replacement of equipment, to the TAC, etc) more access to the update of the signature.

  SKU for that start with CON-SU or CON - SUO and depends on what level of service for the replacement of HW, and if you want a replacement service on the spot.

  for example CON - SU1 - 2921SEC - this includes a SMARTnet agreement with 8x5xNBD without on-site intervention

  the last ios for ips is 7.0 (2)

  and the last ime is 7.0.2

  If I have already installed the ime with 7.0.1 but the image of the ips now is 2.0000, should move the ime to 7.0.2?

  The IME 7.0.2 Basic function has not changed since IME 7.0.1 you need not update if you do not want.

  IME 7.0.2 supports more sensors now (increase of support from 5 to 10 sensors).

  To upgrade 7.0.2 IME you can just run the Setup file on top of the existing version. I just make sure you close the IME before the upgrade.

  -Yes, IOS IPS will work without a license.  However, the router will not be able to update signatures.

  -no impact, except for the fact that IOS IPS can not install new signatures

  You can think of it as pay an annual fee to antivirus subscription.  Yes, the antivirus will continue to work with existing updates.  However, new threats are released all the time, so unless the antivirus is updated, the host is still vulnerable to the latest threats.

  I just looked in the files of the latest signature S128 for IOS IPS and these documents are available.

  They are, however, disabled by default. So you will have to edit the file and allow it before applying the S128 to the router.

  If you download and unzip the S128. You can edit the file virtualSensor.xml (another name for the attack file - drop.sdf) and find the 3 signatures you mentioned.

  A factory reset, are you saying that you restored the unit to the factory? There is no factory setting. Configure you it as news, but what kind of content you add to the device? You have not used your backup at all? If you restored to the factory and set up the device as new and do not add any content or use your backup and are still faced with a problem, then you must make an appointment at the Genius Bar to the nearest Apple store to have the material examined.

  Hey there! It's my third post about the problems Ive been face on my devices after 10 updated iOS. Initially, after that I've updated, the music app was not running on my phone-all I could see was an empty screen and the APP crashed and I was redirected to the homepage in a few seconds. Tired to restart the phone, deleting and then adding the app back, nothing worked. Not at all. So I tried to restore my phone, save all content via icloud. Followed all the steps and after the restoration of the aircraft of other problems surfaced, BUT the music app still does not work.

  Now, not only the app does not work, I can no longer sync my iPhone with iTunes. Whenever I try, I get the following errors:

  (1) itunes cannot sync the iPhone connection has been reset

  I have tried pretty much everything, restart both phone & iTunes, reset the network settings on my iphone, reset itunes sync history, by removing the lockdown folder, running iTunes as administrator on my PC, change my USB in corduroy, update iTunes, reinstall iTunes on PC-nothing seems to work AT ALL. And it's extremely frustrating. I can sync music/documents on my iPad after update of the device and the restaurant then (iPad also has major problems) and then play the music on it but just isn't my phone can be synchronized. It is a function important and if I can't synchronize my device is a sitting duck.

  The new update of iOS also gave my massive lag of phone. Screen freezes, apps for time-consuming, HDR photos take longer to be broken. It is just too heavy to wear.

  CCAN anyone help me please with my iTunes sync + music matters app... I really regret updating to the new iOS. Please help me.

  PS apologies for this long post, I had to write everything I tried.

  If you are on Windows, uninstall iTunes, uninstall Apple Mobile Device Support. Once both are uninstalled, reinstall itunes, see if it syncs with itunes then.

  OK not sure if anyone else has this problem, but I can't connect to my Airport Extreme update IOS 10 my wife is.

  We all have two iPhone 6 and 64 gb & update at the same time.

  We have an ac 802.11 Airport extreme also an extreme dual band of airport & an express airport which none of us can connect to.

  We can connect to the Home Hub 6 provided by our service provider broadband with no problems but it is only in a part of the House that we are unable to connect to my office or at the back of the House.

  Tried resetting the network settings on the phone thought I might ask before having to try to reset back to factory settings base stations.

  FWIW, I upgraded my iPhone SE 5 and Pro iPad to iOS 10 as well, but knows me not any problems connecting to one of my base station AirPort to Wi - Fi.

  Or the other of your iPhones must all problems connecting to other networks in addition to the Home Hub Wi - Fi? In other words, are they only having problems connecting to your AirPort base station? If Yes, do you have someone nearby who also has an AirPort wireless network that you should check your iPhones with?
