Update is no longer stationary?

I put Windows Update (intentionally) to automatically download the updates, but I choose to install them manually.

With Windows 7, update downloaded in the background and installed during the shutdown.

This no longer seems to be the case with Windows 8. Not only that the update download must be triggered manually, updates also do not install automatically stopped.

This behavior has changed for Windows 8?

Hello

Look into this myself, I think that the "stop and update" option has been removed. If you look at the Group Policy settings associated with discontinuation and the update option in the start menu, it says the following:

Setting: See not display "Install updates and shutdown" option to the closing of the windows dialog box

Supported by: Windows 7, Windows Server 2008 R2, Windows Vista, Windows XP SP2

Help: This policy setting allows you to specify if the 'Install updates and shut down' option in shut down Windows dialog box.

If you enable this policy setting, 'Install updates and shut down' will not appear as a choice in the dialog Windows shut down, even if updates are available for installation when the user selects the option in the start menu.

If you disable or do not configure this policy setting, the option 'Install updates and shut down' will be available in the shut down Windows dialog box if updates are available when the user selects the option stop of the start menu.

Therefore Group Policy does not apply to windows 8, so it's not a feature that is available on windows 8, which I think is a real shame that I have often used this when I was going to close down at the end of the day, but did not want the machine to restart and run all night. Don't understand why they would take this option.

  • Update activities no longer work after WatchOS

    Dear friends,

After installation of IOS and watch OS updated last night my beloved activity monitor no longer works:

After that I went running this morning I noticed that the data do not sync to my iPhone. After some googeling, I restarted the two devices without success and then reconnected my watch to my Iphone, install the Backup it makes when I reconnected it. To my delight my current performance data of this morning showed and I thought everything was fine.

Later, I noticed that both my watch and my Iphone was stuck on 608 calories and remained there even after that I did a 20 minute walk to recalibrate. Training App he showed 150 calories for the market, but it has not added to the General calories or watchmaking.

On the preview screen, it shows the top (see picture) of my day but the calories are stuck.

    If anyone can help me?

    Henrik greetings

    Hi Henrik

It can help to restart your iPhone and your watch. Close the two devices together, and then restart your iPhone first:

    -To switch off your watch: press and hold the button side until you see the cursor off the power; slide it to turn off;

-To reactivate: press and hold the side button until you see the Apple logo.

  • iTunes App updates are no longer sync with iPhone

I'm in iOS 9.2 on my iPhone and iTunes 12.3.2.35 64-bit on Windows 10 Pro.  It was that when I updated my apps on the iPhone and then sync the phone with iTunes, applications would be update automatically in iTunes and then appears in the Recycle Bin, ready to remove older versions of applications.  In this case is no longer, so now I have to update the applications on the iPhone and iTunes separately if I want to update Apps in both.  What is the purpose of this?  Why double our efforts?  I tried to update Apps in iTunes first and then running synchronization.  Applications updates appear then to be transferred to the iPhone while sync ("transfer Apps... 1 of 4... [Application name] "), but then when I finished the sync and see the updated section of the applications in the App Store on the iPhone, they always appear not updated, with a red circle on the App Store icon indicating the number of applications that need to be updated, and the word"Update"still alongside the Apps in question in the updated App Store section.  What gives?

In addition, in iTunes, in the [my iPhone] / Summary / Apps section, I used to see all of my Apps in the left column, but see only 20 of them.  All 100 + Apps are still displayed on the right-hand side of the screen, which reflects the layout of my iPhone windows, but I discovered that, in order to restore all applications in the left column, I had to go to my account name in iTunes at the top of iTunes then click on purchase and then re-download applications.  Why on Earth?  They who don't take up much room on my SSD and they are already on the iPhone, so there is no saving space on the iPhone by showing only not all applications in the left column, so what gives?  What's the point?

Please return to the process where when I sync my iPhone my Apps are updated automatically in iTunes.  Why do you do the doubly difficult process?  And, what's now the sync at all, if I don't have photos or new playlists or something like that on my machine I want to synchronize with the iPhone?  There is no synchronization, then, and so unless I have no particular reason to synchronize then I don't be backup versions of the database of the iPhone on my machine on a regular basis!  Apple, you get an Apple rotten to me!  I thought you were all make tech easier to use, more confused!

A feature introduced with iOS 9 called thinning or slicing app app allows each device to download just the code and resources required by this device, resulting in smaller downloads and a better use of the storage on the device. Therefore the device is no longer the universal version of the application that can be installed on any device to transfer applications is no longer supported. I hope that Apple will bring some changes to how it works, but in the meantime, you can download past purchases from iTunes or activate the automatic shopping app downloads to ensure that iTunes has always the apps you want on your device. As long as you make sure that all of the apps are present and updates in iTunes before you attempt a restore there should be no loss of data. I cannot confirm, but it seems a way to recent update all data are restored and apps that are not in the library are waiting to download from the iTunes Store over Wi - Fi, in a similar way to the restoration of the iCloud way works.

For more information on move your library and all the backups of device iOS out of your SSD storage space, see make a library of portable split .

  • October 11, 2011 updated catchy so long delays for IE8 and Outlook Express

After you install Microsoft Updates on October 11, 2011, after a system reboot, Internet explore 8 and Outlook Express experience long delays before starting. During this period, the Task Manager is also locked, so I don't see what process is at the origin of the problem.

I narrowed down it to KB2564958 or KB2592799.

I've uninstalled and reinstalled the KB2564958 and the KB2592799 and the problem disappeared.

Well then I have just updated to Windows XP to Windows Vista, I tried to update my system using windows update. And it was 'Check updates' for a few hours now. Why it takes so long? I mean, the last time I checked, there were only 7 updates for me.

  • Update takes too long to install the right until the computer turns off

    Hello!

I formatted a Windows 7 HP computer, and I was having a bunch of annoying problems related to updated Windows Update (for more than a week, incredible!), more precisely I encountered the problem of the infinite search for updates several times (I formatted in fact the PC more than once), and unfortunately, I have seen no any model when it occurs. I've seen many solutions online, but none of them seem to work. If this computer was mine, I would have already installed another operating system, i.e. Linux.

Now, after several attempts, the last of them was to start first windows in "safe" mode, and then restart normally, I have observed that, although apparently she wanted so much for the updates, under the windows of Hood put to date has already installed some updates and others have been suspended, and we failed. I decided to restart the PC, and now it is install updates after the newspaper a few hours already. Apparently, he was installing the updates normally, but at some point he stuck with update number 234 (on 292). It was at least 2 or 3 hours, which is to install this update, and I think that it is not normal.

What can I do? Could it be related to the internet connection? I had a lot of trouble to set up the internet connection, mainly because of the card wireless PC, apparently dying. But I used it, before ending the session, a USB Netgear adapter, and I was able to connect to the internet, etc.

    Thanks for your help!

I just wanted to say that after waiting a bit more put updated 234 has been installed as well as all the other updates that came after him. Thus, the long waiting times could be due to a problem with internet or any connection simply because the update was quite heavy...

I'll take a look at this post ;)

  • Launch of Windows updates is no longer automatically search updates

    Original title: Windows 7 updates

About 5 months ago, updates of Windows 7 has worked like a charm. I could reboot a computer, install SP1 from the cd and when I launched Windows updates he would find them and there we went. But for the lst 4-5 months it was harder to get updates and for several weeks, it is almost impossible. When I run the application updated Windows he's looking for is no longer automatically updates, I have to say it looks like. Then, the computer can settle there as long as two days before finding the updates. I have two computers with own loads on my bench right now doing so. Once has been looking for updates since Monday afternoon. The others finally fond some yeaterday late but now still looking for more. I tried the tool of Microsoft 'fixit' without change.  What happened to windows update to windows 7? My only guess is that Microsoft has run on a machine Win 98 486 trying to force everyone to go to 10 Windows. It is a totally unacceptable process that needs to be repaired.

It is expected by M$, now we have to go through hoops
