The computer works well but I'm afraid that this update is not installed correctly. Any recommendations?

  • Photos 1.3 "JDK 8 Update 73" shows under the heading import on the left.  I also have a pop up telling me to install it in safari.  Have already installed several times.  Any ideas?

Photos 1.3 "JDK 8 Update 73" shows under the 'Import' section on the left.  I also have a pop up telling me to install it in safari.  Have already installed several times.  Any ideas?

Looks like pictures which I assume you mean Apple's application to view and edit photo files is a 'disk' called JDK 8 update 73 ad.

This implies that you have downloaded and mounted a "disk image file" for the update of Java and it is always 'mounted '. However the fact that you are still being harassed to install it in Safari implies that you have not run the update of Java installation package that must be inserted into the drive.

Then, go back to the Finder and look for a drive in a window of Finder called "JDK 8 updated 73'. Click on that in the window of the Finder and the window should then list the contents of this disc. In this list should be something obviously to do with the installation, most of the installation files have an extension of the .pkg file, it could be called 'update Java 8 73.pkg. Double-click or open the pkg file and follow the instructions.

  • Same updates installed several times on close

Original title: Auto update on stop

I have XPpro/SP3/IE8 and all MIcrosoft updates.   I find that on stop the same 3 elements are auto-installé several times. They are all elements of the framework .net and so can take up to 10 minutes to stop.  I would appreciate a solution

    Hi Danielarbib,

You have the numbers KB (Knowledge Base) updates?

If the same updates are installed on several occasions, there are two probable root causes:

    ·        An error occurred during the installation. The update has not been installed.

    ·        The update has been installed. However, a file was not updated to restart the computer.

To resolve this issue, please see the Microsoft Knowledge Base article below.

  • Loss of connection network several times a day while actively using internet. Will not stop after that.

I read a lot of posts on the Vista network connections problems when changing modes of consumption, or when the wireless adapter is inactive. None of them apply to me because I lose my network connection when I have my laptop plugged in and I'm actively using the internet (for example, watch movies online). After trying "diagnose and repair" options, nothing seems to work. The only way I found to get internet again is to restart my computer. What makes it still more difficult, is that after that happens, my computer doesn't shut down normally. It freezes at the blue screen that says "shutting down". Whenever this problem with the network connection happens I am forced to make a difficult start (hold the power button until the power is off) if I want to use the internet again. It's only happened for about a month, and it's happened before and after that I installed Service Pack 2. I don't remember installing any software a month ago with the exception of Windows updates that I can't uninstall (the button uninstall is hidden for some updates). Any help I can get would be much appreciated because it is very frustrating to have hard to start my laptop several times a day in order to continue to work on this.

    -Sam Goodrich

    Hi Sam

I regret that no one answered earlier.

Since you don't have physical access to the router, this will make the diagnosis very difficult.  And, given that this problem is intermittent, once again, very hard to track down what is causing the problem.  You can very well just to lose the intensity of the signal.

I mentioned the switch on the laptop because if anything goes wrong, who "could" cause this problem, and given that the laptop is no longer under warranty, you will not be able to have your factory repair it (for free of course).

I don't see what other suggestions from the Forum can give you.  Once again, with this problem being sparadic (intermittent) and since you share Internet access with someone else and do not have physical access to the router for troubleshooting purposes, my hands are basically related...

  • T500 breaks down several times a day

I bought my T500 online in June just before my father ran very ill and subsequently passed.  Needless to say, test my new laptop was not high on my priority list.  I use it several times before going on two months of travel in mid-August and has not had a problem until the night before I left.  We thought that we have solved the problem, but I do not. Now, he has begun to plant more.  It will crash several times a day.  It crashed use IE so I changed to FF, but it still crashes.  It hangs when it is not yet on the internet.  It crashes with programs that work on my Dell.  Likewise, it hangs when I hit reboot.

Is - this Vista or just a lemon?

Now another problem is that I am on the road for two months and 3,000 miles away from home where is the orginial box.  What are my options?  If I put up with the noise up to November will be I still be able to get it fixed or replaced under warranty?

I work on the road and really need to have a computer that works.  It's really sad to think that I paid $1500 for this new computer and my old Dell laptop for 5 years is more reliable than my new Lenovo!  (Good thing brought us two computers, or I would really be bad!)

Ideas or suggestions will be appreciated.  A Lenovo reseller will be able to help me?

I have the disc that came with the computer, but I'm not a computer genius... That's what I have sons!  Laughing out loud.  I also forgot to put one of the programs that I need to reinstall.

BUT I didn't realize that we have solved the problem!

First I dycrypted computer that has helped, but then the computer was only plant after the modem would be a problem so then my son remotely installed a new version of my VZManager (from Verizon Air card) and also made an update on the PC card and the computer has collapsed since!  Four days and counting!

    I'm a HAPPY CAMPER!

    Thanks to all who responded.

  • WhatWhere is the plug-incontainer? happened to the plugin container? He disappeared with the latest version and now firefox crashes several times a day.

I do not see the plugin container in the task manager of Windows since the last update of Firefox and now FF freezes several times per day (since the previous update, before yesterday). It takes several minutes after that I see this until it thaws, and it is faster the "end task" and restart Firefox to wait. • HP ENVY x 360: drive the power outage status several times a day?

It seems to be random, and it was only once or twice a month, but now its several times a day. First of all my internet stops working. To the point where it shows the yellow triangle on my symbol of the internet and only wifi it can 'find' is that it was previously connected to (although he refuses to reconnect). Once the fix is a restart, then turn on the wifi card as admin (that I don't know why it goes off in the first place), but most of the time that isn't the case. I'll try a reboot, it takes about 7 minutes to restart completely after the "DRIVER_STATE_POWER_FAILURE" is displayed on a blue screen.

I tried what I found online. Boot in Safe Mode and uninstalling the bad driver, but that's the problem. I don't know which driver is the problem, because none of them has the yellow triangle. So this would be another problem causing this problem?

    Hi @LolicOnii,

Thanks for the update on the situation.

You still want to search the drivers updated, simply because the Device Manager does not display that a mistake does not mean that the drivers are up to date. You can follow this document since it will helps you update the drivers supplied by Device Manager and other troubleshooting suggestions.

Let me know how do you with this information.

    Thank you!

  • Y550 BSOD / reboot several times per day

At first, I thought I had problems with a recent update of the MS software, but now I'm leaning towards maybe (?) I have some hardware issues (hypothesis!).

After a brief search, I ran memtest on my Y550, but one that is transmitted without any problems. In fact, in these last days, I notice that my Y550 will crash and reboot several times a day.

    Here's what I can find in memory.dmp that I * think * may be useful (?).

  • Outlook Express wants to compact files several times per day

I deleted most of my Deleted messages and sent folders and I greeted the OE to go through the process of compaction, but happens several times a day and it's driving me crazy!   I went into the Maintenance tab under Tools, but it doesn't seem to be a solution.  I have to save at least 3 months of messages in these files for commercial purposes.  What can I do to prevent it from appearing?

Compacting does not delete messages, only the space wasted. If you don't lose messages, it's either because of damaged files or disrupt the process of compaction.

If you compacted it completed successfully, and you see the prompt earlier that 100 closures of OE, then see if you have Windows search installed. If you do, you need to tell Windows Search to stop indexing OE.

In the control panel. Indexing Options. Change. Clear the check box for Outlook Express.

If you have lost messages during compaction, see this.

Two reasons the most common for what you describe is disruption of the compacting process, (never touch anything until it's finished), or bloated folders. More about that below.

Why OE insists on compacting folders when I close it? :

    Recovery methods:

If you use XP/SP2 or SP3, and are fully patched, then you should have a backup of your dbx files in the Recycle Bin (or possibly the message store), copied as bak files.

To restore a folder bak on the message store folder, first find the location of the message store.

Tools | Options | Maintenance | Store folder will reveal the location of your Outlook Express files. Note the location and navigate on it in Explorer Windows or, copy and paste in start | Run.

In Windows XP, the .dbx files are by default marked as hidden. To view these files in the Solution Explorer, you must enable Show hidden files and folders under start | Control Panel | Folder options | View.

Close OE and in Windows Explorer, click on the dbx to the file missing or empty file, then drag it to the desktop. It can be deleted later once you have successfully restored the bak file. Minimize the message store.

Open OE and, if the folder is missing, create a folder with the * exact * same name as the bak file you want to restore but without the .bak. For example: If the file is Saved.bak, the new folder should be named saved. Open the new folder, and then close OE. If the folder is there, but just empty, continue to the next step.

First of all, check if there is a bak file already in the message. If there is, and you have removed the dbx file, go ahead and rename it in dbx.

If it is not already in the message, open the trash and do a right-click on the file bak for the folder in question and click on restore. Open the message store up and replace the .bak by .dbx file extension. Close the message store and open OE. Messages must be in the folder.

If messages are restored successfully, you can go ahead and delete the old dbx file that you moved to the desktop.

If you have not then bak copies of your dbx files in the Recycle Bin:

DBXpress run in extract disc Mode is the best chance to recover messages:

    And see:

A general warning to help avoid this in the future:

Do not archive mail in default OE folders. They finally are damaged. Create your own folders defined by the user for mail storage and move your mail to them. Empty the deleted items folder regularly. Keep user created folders under 300 MB, and also empty as is possible to default folders.

Disable analysis in your e-mail anti-virus program. It is a redundant layer of protection that devours the CPUs, slows down sending and receiving and causes a multitude of problems such as time-outs, account setting changes and has even been responsible for the loss of messages. Your up-to-date A / V program will continue to protect you sufficiently. For more information, see:
