Update | Migration - Cisco TelePresence Content Server

Hello...

I have a physical camera TCS M2, I would like to upgrade to the latest version 7. XX verified but it is apparently not possible to perform this procedure for the unit of these versions. What are my options? Is there a version compatible with the model of this device? My solution would be virtualization? Can someone help me with a possible solution?

Best regards...

You mention that you're running a TCS M2, which is a second generation aircraft, non - UCS Server?  If so and you want to stay on this material, you can run TCS S6.1 up to S6.2.1 as a virtual machine on that server.

If you plan on TCS S7.x running, you must migrate the TCS to the virtual device, you can run it either on a third generation or fourth generation TCS device or third spec-server meets the minimum requirements.

I've reviewed a few information about the content of telepresence server and thought someone here might know the answer.  I read conflicting information.

    1. The content of telepresence Server allows to watch a live stream?
    2. The content of telepresence Server allows SIP?  The data sheet said yes, but the doc said H.323 only.
    3. Then the auto-join the content server with TMS telepresence session?  My hypothesis is Yes since the endpoints can be set to auto-answer/join.

My goal is to set up a registration and solution to this TCS in combination with REV and a DME is proposed, but if the TCS can all do by itself and then unload the records to a NAS, so I wouldn't need the rest of the solution.  Thanks in advance.

    1. The appliance and the virtual TCS can support 5 or 10 simultaneous on the records of the application, and any one of those, 2 of them can also be broadcast live.
    2. You can use h.323 or SIP with a standalone TCS.  From TCS version 6.2, you can now have a cluster using h.323 or SIP, before 6.2 it was only H323.  The user guides and admin are incorrect and still be up-to-date to reflect the SIP enhancements in version 6.2.
    3. You can schedule recordings of TCS with TMS without problem, we do it every day.  The downside is that you can't plan a TCS cluster using SIP, TMS have not yet updated to reflect the changes in version 6.2.
  • Telepresence Content Server: Dissemination to the Public and private users

New to this, so I don't know what would be the best way to do this, but basically the goal is to broadcast videos of TCS to the users of the network internal as live audiences without security problems. Try to do this without an external broadcast service.

It is the State that works very well for internal users, but is not available to public users because it's on a private network.

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Thank you
    Mike

You will need to provide public access to your Cameras, you can consult the administration of CHT Guide for a list of ports. We have our TCS on a private network and have the lanes of traffic through the network load balancers that rely on the public network to provide all access public and private.

  • Content Server Cisco telepresence - separate content

We have a Cisco Telepresence Content server v5.3 build 3486.

My client is looking for a recorded video to divide without content. Kindly advice how to do it. Please note that it is a recorded video.

I went through the models that we have to TCL, but there just passing through, joined, stacked and PIP.

If you already have a record that contains content, that content is displayed, there no deactivation part as it is already registered.  I noticed you questions about video recording without content in another discussion, I hope this is helpful in this case.

    Hi Mohammad,.

The link you are trying is the TCS rescue mode. The reason for its non audit admin uname & pwd you might have changed the authentication settings on the site settings page. If authentication earlier was local and you have changed domain or LDAP then TCS will try to authenticate by using this mechanism and will not take admin local credentails.

To avoid this, once connected via rescue link, create a user with admin rights

Configuration > users and groups > add users and group > add a user with rights to site manager

Log out and then try looging with the user that you created. It works perfectly.

This also happens when earlier you use domain authentication and you've changed your LDAP authentication or vice versa. Creation of the user with rights to site manager is so important before you change the authentication mechanism.

    Hope this information helps.

Please rate if you find it useful.

  • Cisco Content Server default reset password

    Guys,

I have Cisco Telepresence Content Server, I was able to login using username: admin, password: cisco123. After I try to change the user name & password, but somehow it is not successful. When I try to access using user: administrator and password: cisco123 is not open a session.

I'm trying to "default system restore" by CLI, but I can not connect still not use the administrator user and password cisco123.

Is it possible to restore the password?

    Concerning

    Rizal

    Hello

If this is the case you can try the recovery link in Internet Explorer:

    http:///tcs/ #page: connection & rescue: true

Which prompts for the user name and password. You must use the credentials you use for remote desktop and you should be good to go!

    See you soon!

  • Is any impact of a change of the password of the local user account on an instance of a content server Cisco TelePresence virtual computer?

    Hello

I'm looking to see if there is an impact to change the password of the local user account on an instance of a content server Cisco TelePresence virtual machine?

The software version is v6.2 build 4073.

    Thank you in advance,

    Robert

I'll assume, you are referring to the administrator account, but it can be applied to any local account which is located on the TCS server itself.  It has no impact to change the password, unless you are using doesn't say account to connect to the server of TCS or web interface, it will not affect the application of TCS as most things such as external storage or clustering rely on domain accounts and not the local server.

  • Content Server Cisco telepresence - prompter

Y at - it an option to use the server of content like a teleprompter.

My customer has dial E164. Share the presentation of his camera and read the content/presentation.

The content server must omit the presentation and record video. just like a teleprompter...

Could implement us this without modification in MCU/endpoint, but only in the content server.

If I understand correctly, you want to save the video only and not the presentation?

You may disable video Duet on the TCS under the recording Configuration > Configuration call.  Create a new configuration of the call and assign it to the alias that you use, then whenever someone uses this alias special, it will just record their video and recording all content sent will not be captured by the TCS.

  • Content server - migration MediaSense

    Hi all

I am currently migrating my gateway TMS\VCS to CUCM telepresence end points.

My Tandberg Content Server just died and I already have 2 support detection servers deployed.

The question is: detection of support will eventually replace Content Server?

The current feature support detection seems really limited compared to the content server, but I don't need a lot more - just to be able to save and export the video.

Is what someone running CUCM + TMS and use record support for multi detection video conferences with channel content?

    Thank you.

6.2 to CHT's already out earlier this year and available now.  The migration is pretty cheap, on the top of my head, something like less than $5 k per server is what we paid.

  • Cisco TelePresence Manager version 1.7 does support Windows Small Business Server 2008?

    Hello

Is Microsoft Windows Small Business Server 2008 supported the Protocol LDAP, AD and MS Exchange server for Cisco TelePresence Manager version 1.7?

    Thank you

Hello Ahmed - although this configuration "can work", Windows 2008 Small Business Server is not on the support list. This means that it has not been tested and it certifies to work with telepresence.

To my knowledge, he's not on the roadmap for the future support however, I search and repost as soon as I have an answer for you.

  • Cisco TelePresence SX20 + VCS 8.2 Server and Skype for business 2015

Nice day! My name is Dimitri! Have Cisco TelePresence SX20 + VCS 8.2 Server and Skype for business 2015. Is it possible to set up a conference call SFB and appeal to all subscribers of this conference? At present, we can only call on a single client and SFB. We have the current version of the software TCNC5.1.4.295090 SX20 - is it possible he obnoviti 7, and it will help to improve the situation? Thank you!

I'm no expert on this technology, but I have some idea and already deployed some projects dealing with the integration of Cisco (CUCM, VCS) video infrastructure to Microsoft video infra like Lync. It would be the same process to make it work in your case.

How does your deployed SFB? How do you do a conference for audio and video, participants can join the conference by dialing?

    • Mediation server would be required as a front-end server for you to integrate IP/PBXS using SIP trunk to enable voice (audio) Conference with the participants to the PSTN.
    • AVMCU Should be (Audio video Multipoint Conferencing Unit) will host the video conference that will include video endpoints as participants.
    • Video of Interop (SCREW) Server would be required to interface your SFB to third video conference infrastructure such as Cisco UCM or VCS for the endpoints Cisco call client SFB of endpoint of Cisco to participate to the conference organised on SFB by dialing the conference number.

I'd say contact your AM SFB or Support as well for queries about how to plan your infrastructure SFB and direction.

  • Cisco telepresence video Communication Server (VCS) - compatibility CTX X8.1.1?

The Cisco TelePresence Exchange System compatibility matrix (CTX) does not cover version of VCS X8.1.1 (to solve the problem of software). Version X7.2 is recommended and supported which is affected by "heartbleed".

X8.1.1 compatibility is tested by Cisco and the updated matrix?

In fact we run CTX v1.3 with VCS X7.2 and solve the problem of software without leaving the support. What is the recommendation of Cisco?

    Kind regards

    C.Opwis

You could improve your VCS to X7.2.3 which includes a fix for Heartbleed.

  • The implications of Cisco Telepresence server operation mode

I have a CISCO Telepresence server that is currently running in mode managed locally, if change you it remotely and add it to my TMS, will I lose all my permament locally created conference rooms? (be they get deleted?)

    Thank you!

HI Douglas.  TS blade didn't need to be mode remotely managed so that it can be managed by TMS.  This mode is used for the management as a conductor Telepresense.

When it was presented, was 3.0 TS.

    Release notes:

    http://www.Cisco.com/en/us/docs/Telepresence/infrastructure/TS/release_note/Cisco_Telepresence_Server_Release_Notes_3-0_2-24.PDF

Page 2 pretty much answer your questions here.

If your not using a conductor or by using your own program API to use TS in this mode, its better to leave behind in managed mode and add the system to MSD and leave it that way.  This is the normal operating mode if you use the TMS.  Let in managed mode locally, add it to the TMS and you can book etc. against it using TMS meetings.  If automatic discovery is enabled in TMS, permanent meetings should appear in the CCC.

    I hope this helps.
