  • (Redirected) Vostro 260 + Radeon HD5870 compatible?

    Good afternoon

I'm new on this forum and really need help, I have a radeon 5870 graphics card and a desktop dell vostro 260 pc, at the opening of the case there is a 16 pci slot so that it fits, with a few mods to the HARD-drive carrier, I managed to squeeze it with a 750 Watt (500 minimum) power , problem is that the bios will not detect the card or give me options to tell him to choose this card so I don't have on board graphics, I have updated bios, graphics support (equally serve as a chocolate fire guard) disabled dell in the phone hardware Manager and still can run , map and elongated supply works fine on my other vostro 200 a anyone you have this problem.

  • Dell Inspiron 620/Vostro 260 NO Bios for AHCI

Dell Inspiron 620/Vostro 260 NO Bios for AHCI

Interestingly, I couldn't even update the bios without the INTEL drivers.

Check in the Device Manager, the machine uses the ATA drivers not AHCI drivers

AND will not install the INTEL RST drivers.

    Why is this?

I tried to upgrade to the version of the Bios A04, but this made no difference.

I did some research and discovered that the chipset in this system, the H61, simply does not support AHCI or RAID. There is no way to activate for a reason. :(

Wish I had known this. The value of this system really went down the tube if you intend to launch an SSD in there.

I have a Vostro 260, 4 years and no upgrade internal. Microsoft Flight Sim 2004 will not operate with the installed Microsoft Windows 10 system, (hate).

I was advised to add more memory. Currently 2 GB of DDR3 memory.

Question is, can I add more memory, how much, to make this system work properly?

I'm not computer savvy, so the question.

    Thanks for any help.

You can have 8 GB of RAM and an SSD hard drive:

Microsoft Sim 2004 has been designed for Windows XP, released in 2001, and may not work for a modern OS, such as Windows 10 released in 2015.

  • Driver Windows XP for Vostro 260

    Hi all

I'm fighting for a network of windows XP on Vostro 260 driver

I can't imagine there are not one, but I loaded a driver from Realtek, containing a driver for the reference found in the identification of the interface (DEV_8168 & SUBSYS_04EE1028 & REV_06).

I installed, but the interface does not start. What should do?

    Thank you

    Ch. Waterkeyn

    Hi all

The only factor that contains the exact reference DEV_8168 & SUBSYS_04EE1028 & REV_06 are on the realtek site: www.realtek.com.tw/.../downloadsView.aspx

where we can find the version 5.806 driver of the network interface on VOSTRO260

I thought that it wasn't working, but I do probably not uninstall correctly previous drafts.

So don't forget to uninstall completely any previous driver for the interface (I guess that's always the case, but I'm not very used to the installation of the driver)

Hope that this will eventually help someone...

    Kind regards

    Christian Waterkeyn

  • Vostro 410 - update motherboard

Hi - I had a Vostro 410 for a few years. I want to put in addition to 4 GB of RAM, the motherboard supports (DG33A01) so I wanted to swap out the motherboard for something else. Motherboards are something that I don't know much, so I wanted to ask if anyone had done before, and if so, the other motherboard do you pick?

    Thank you

Dell systems use cards mothers and case exclusive. That said, there is no other advice that works in your system. Your best buy a new rig or build your own.

Also in order to use more than 4 GB of ram, you must run a 64-bit version of windows.

  • Satellite A200 - update motherboard

Hi, I'd like to update my graphics card, but I have read that I have to upgrade my motherboard to do this. Is this true? I want to improve to be able to play 3D games. Motherboard should I go to? I have a Satellite A200.

I believe that this document can give you an answer to your question

The card mother and video card are designed, you cannot upgrade the video card in a series later.

I want to update my card mother p6610f so that I can install a processor AMD 8350 what changes are what I should do and what motherboards do you suggest?

Here are the specifications of your HP Pavilion p6610f desktop computer and its card mother Μatx-RS880-Alvorix (Alvorix). Based on this information, you will need to buy a hat from motherboard AM3 + supports the processor AMD FX-8350, install a new power supply and buy a new copy of Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit. Your Windows installation factory will become non-genuine and your HP recovery disks will stop working. I really do not recommended that you try to upgrade your p6610f by going down this road.

    Please send Bravo

    Hello MattNC79,

I understand that you are looking for an update of the BIOS of your desktop PC HP Pavilion p6-2100 using the card mother AAHD2-HY (Holly). Unfortunately, I couldn't locate an update of the BIOS for that motherboard at this time.

I hope that I have answered your question to your satisfaction. Thanks for posting on the HP Forums. Have a great day!

  • Update motherboard on a DC7700 Sff

First of all, sorry if this is in the wrong place. IM new to the forum stuff. Also, sorry if this has already been answered.

So I'm wanting to upgrade my dc7700 sff as much as possible. Up yet, I upgraded the GPU, RAM disk and windows, but I would like to upgrade the motherboard. From what people have told me, it is impossible to update the motherboard, but I would like some other opinions before I spend money I havnt really on a new PC.

Here is a complete list of my specs (on the top of my head):

    160 GB Sata HARD drive

    3 GB RAM

ATI Radeon X 1300 Pro GPU

    Intel (R) Core (TM) 2 CPU 6400 @ 2.13 GHz 2.13 GHz

If you need more info please let me know and thanks for the help!

If you want another opinion, then I agree with everyone who said that we can't do.

Dc7800 SFF dc7900 SFF and the Elite SFF 8000-8300 have a redesigned cards mothers and where, so that they do not coincide in your model.

And if you are referring to a classic motherboard you can buy from a manufacturer of motherboard (ASUS, Gigabyte, etc.), which can be done either.

  • USB ports not working not not in Windows 10 after update laptop (Vostro 1500)

I updated an old laptop, Dell Vostro 1500 from Windows 7 to Windows 10. Everything is great, the touch pad works, it is much faster than it used to be, one thing is, none of the USB 4 ports work.

I went to the dell website, all I get is an alert indicating the device is not compatible with Windows 10 and that everything is up to date. I couldn't find the specific drivers on the website of intel and their program detects that too, everything is up-to-date

I have google and could not find anything other than sites like pilot scape, which I don't know

In Device Manager, there are 14 points to USB, there are 7 USB Universal Host Controller family with 2830-2836 A numbers

Besides, there are 7 USB Root Hub with an error symbol. When I check the properties I have "Windows cannot start this hardware device because its information of configuration (in the registry) is incomplete or damaged (code 19)"".

I tried to uninstall and looking for changes, that did not work. I also tried fix registry of CCleaner

What are my options, is it possible to get USB ports work on my laptop?

    Thank you

    Hi Benny,.

If please see my previous response to jtrand02 and click on the link for a list of compatible systems.

The model of your system is not compatible with W10. I advise you to stay with W7/W8.1 unless you want to try your luck with W10.
