Update of Java 7 13 not recognized by Firefox 18.0.2

I recently updated my java update version 7 13 and FF 18.0.2. Somewhere between the two, Firefox no solitaire doesn't recognize Java. I tried to completely remove Java and then reinstalling Java 7u13, but Firefox doesn't recognize. It does NOT appear in the plugins folder. In the Java settings via the Java Control Panel, I noticed that the 'Mozilla family' is unchecked. Even after checking the box, it gets unchecked when I go back and look at it.

Is there a compatibility issue with Java 7u13 and and 18 FF?
Is there a way to * force * FF to recognize Java plugsin selection?
FF blocking Java installation?
Is there a way to prevent the blocking of the FF addons?

I think I found the problem. I had a Borland also installed Java plugin. Once I took it off, and then re-installed Java 7u13, FF detected it. However, now that FF crashes with when I try to load Java. =|

EDIT:
Correction of the crash. During my diagnosis, I had set dom.ipc.plugins.java.enabled = true. Once I returned it false, it worked. I'm fine now.

  • Java version 7, updated 17 is NOT recognized by FireFox version 19.0.2

Sigh. He has such a cacophony of solutions to solve Java installation problems that even a user strays. The last solution to the problems of installation of Java refers to Java v7 u10. The solution is yet to indicate the version of Firefox, they run. It comes to March 2013. The latter was published in September 2012.

Frankly, I am very, very disappointed. I love Firefox - but someone dropped / is dropping the ball on this one.

What on Earth is the solution for Firefox version 19.0.2 not recognize installation of Java version 7, 17 update?

    Anyone in the community KNOW?

    Answer to my own post:

Out of all the solutions posted about Java install problems, I was able to glean one thing: a re-installation of Java and a reinstall of Firefox may well resolve the issue.

Well, for me, so far, he has.

    The simple steps I followed:

    1. Create Restore Point (Control Panel, search for "Create a Restore Point")
2 uninstall my version of Java (Panel, "Uninstall a program")
    3 reset
    4. Download Firefox latest version (for me, was the 19.0.2, version in my downloads folder)
    5. download AND install the latest Java (now version 7, updated 17 @java.com)
    6 reboot
7 install the latest Firefox ("Firefox Setup 19.0.2" application-double-click in my downloads folder)
8A started Firefox (NOTE: my current extensions and plugins are not affected) and went to my favorite site that requires Java.
9 THANK GOD, it worked! (NOTE: he did ask me if I wanted to RUN THIS APPLICATION)
    .
I hope it works for you.

(Technical note: all posted solutions, I have taken note that it becomes clear registry entries are not updated or are deleted.) The re-installing Java (after the withdrawal and reset) and the re-installing Firefox solved 'my' problem).

Java does not work.  And I tried to open mp3 rocket after java 6 update 22 d/l would be and now, nothing happened, is no longer, box pops up saying cannot access c, but the program does not come either.  Does anyone know how can I get rid of the update of java 6 23, I think that's the problem, but it just will not, uninstall I think I need strength somehow remove it.

  • Last rocket installed update - now the "rocket" is not recognized in Windows XP. (SOLVED)

    Good morning-

The latest version of the rocket via our Vista laptop to the library.  We are stuck with dial-up at home

The "rocket" says it has firmware ver. 02.02.28A.

When I brought this back home, our main PC, which works under XP, ceased to recognize the "rocket".  I mean, nothing.  We don't get the small USB icon in the systray, no devices appear in 'My Computer', and the "rocket" is not even start charging!

Fortunately, it always works on the Ubuntu PC.  The only difference is 9.04 was a little i-Pod-search icon neat on the desktop.  Now, I get an icon that looks like a piece of paper.  It's kind of weird, but at least it still works...

EDIT: Another post said to check the USB Mode - apparently the update of the firmware put USB Mode back to Auto-Detect.  I had set it to MSC previously.  Series MSC, transformed, plugged into the PC XP and everything seems OK.  In Ubuntu, I always get not icons cute i - Pod.  I will defer.

The update of the firmware default always back to Auto-Detect.  Which means that if you have WMP 10 or 11, he should go to MTP mode, and if you have WMP 9 (comes with XP), it should go to the CSM. But Auto anything is not as trustworthy as DIY.

  • I did the att update and now it's not recognizing the netgear router which has been great for the last 8 months. I have the 2 wires then the router.

I did the update and then he asked me to choose a network address, I have seleceted one and now can not go further

    HI Jeannie,

If the connection wasn't working before the update, and not after, looks like it's the driver who needs to update, so download the newest one (or one you know you were using previously) and load.

Also, here is a link for troubleshooting:

  • Muse of update failed, and AAM is not recognizing the situation

I have a problem. I checked AAM, and no update was waiting. I began to Muse, and he stated that a new version was available to be installed.

I ran the installer, but finished, I was unable to boot Muse.

Tried various things and read the discussions here. Tried to uninstall, reinstall, Creative Suite Cleaner, clean Muse 4.0, checked installation than the latest version of AIR is installed etc.

    Any other ideas?

    Post edited by: Red Maelstrom

Finally, managed to re - install Muse.

When the previous version of AIR (v3.5) was installed (after first uninstalling the version 3.6), AAM is automatically updated to v3.6 - which means that the installation of the Muse was not successful.

By downloading and using the class SettingsManager AIR, to turn off the automatic updates - http://airdownload.adobe.com/air/applications/SettingsManager/SettingsManager.air I was able to stop the AAM automatically updated AIR v3.6.

This then let me use the AAM to install the last current version (version 4.0) of Muse.

I must just remember to reactivate the automatic air updates, once with AIR v3.6 have been addressed.

  • Java plugin does not load on Firefox

I'm working on a machine without administrator rights. Firefox fails to load Java plugin even thought it is installed. Summer search internet and found this and this.
I checked the users on this machine really has only read access to HKLM\Software\mozilla.org. Is this the problem why does not load plugin? He said that this should be fixed in new versions of Java and FF.

    I use Firefox 11.0, Java 6 Update 13, Windows 7 Enterprise.

OK, I read about this problem on the mozillazine kb now...

You can try the following: go to start run & open %appdata%\Mozilla\, create a folder named plugins (where it does not exist). then you need to go to the directory of the java program and the subfolder bin (probably C:\Program Files\Java\j2re < version > \bin\) and copy all the .dll files that begin with np*.dll and paste them into the plugins folder you created before. This must be repeated for each user on the machine.

in the case where firefox then detects the plugin, I would recommend you keep the disabled plugin and activated only upon request (or use an extension like noscript to create a white list of trusted sites that can use the plugin). I have seen many infections than to exploit vulnerabilities in older versions of java, also on accounts with limited user rights...

  • Plugin Google Earth is not recognized by Firefox (works in Safari and Chrome)

For some reason any Google Earth has stopped working in Firefox, and I get a note that I have to download the plug-in. (It works fine in Chrome and Safari).

I followed the 'solution' in the forum without success.

When I search "Google Earth Browser plugin" in the Finder, I find SEVEN matching this search under 'Type' in Macintosh HD/Library/Internet Plugins... .but this 'genre' is associated with the plugins that are "Named" something else - for example, Adobe, DivX, Flash, Flip4Mac, etc. (weird).

  • Today, 26 September 2011: I finally decided to download version 6. I received a message that my java script is not compatible with this version. He did a search, and said that he could not find an update. I need Java script. What now?

Using Window XP Pro with service pack 3 and all updates. I uninstalled version 6 and now back to version 4. 4 GB of ram and over a hundred gigs of storage. Don't use not Norton or McAfee. Check my settings, I find java is enabled, but still "java not installed" on many sites. I went back to version 4, so I can only load the info troubleshooting from there.

It's not JavaScript which is incompatible / people with disabilities, this is the Java Console, which is incompatible or disabled. The Java Console is installed with every update of Java and is not necessary for most users; Read what follows in the Java Console

Make sure your Java works at the following link. If Java runs on your system, it will detect the version that is installed on your system.

  • Java plugin does not not in Firefox 4.0b11, works very well in 3.6.13

Java plugin is not loading in Firefox 4.0b11, but it works very well in 3.6.13 (and in Google Chrome too). It worked in Firefox 4 before, but broken somewhere around beta 5. libnpjp2.so is not really in the plugins folder, but it is a symlink: /libnpjp2.so -> /usr/lib/jvm/ia32-java-6-sun-1.6.0.12/jre/lib/i386/libnpjp2.so. When running the command line, I see FF tries to load other plugins of symbolic links (most associated with totem) but do not because they are amd64 and FF is built in 32-bit. But none of the messages on libnpjp2.so (which IS 32 bits).

Java 1.6.0.12 is old enough, then you can try to install the latest version of Java 6 U23.
