  I just installed CS4 on Windows 7 and I get the message that I need to update the NVIDIA driver.

  Is it really neccassary to update the driver even though I have no problem using Photoshop?

  I have never, never had to do anything to any program by updating a device... driver just to a Windoze restart after the installation of the new driver

• HP Envy 14-J009tx: updating the Nvidia driver is blocked?

  So, I bought this laptop last month, and I tried updating the Nvidia graphics driver for the last of the 347.52 version supplied with it. I opened the GeForce experience app to update, it tells me that it is impossible to connect to Nvidia. Not still even though I changed my home network to the endearing phone, it won't let me update, saying that it cannot connect to Nvidia and I should try again later. I also checked the firewall and AVG (I changed the antivirus immediately after purchase) and allows the application to access the internet.

  So my question is: is it done deliberately by HP or there may be something wrong with the whole of my ISP? And besides, I am interested in upgrading to Windows 10, will there be any problem with all the app that requires Nvidia? I really need the graphics I want to do a lot of CAD in the future.

  I read your post on Nvidia driver update and I wanted to help.
  
  It's generally a BAD idea to update the video drivers laptop NVIDIA (or AMD) because the OEM manufacturers often use specialized versions of video chipsets for which these pilots are not suitable.  The best approach is to update only from the OEM drivers.

  If you press the check now button, he will see if there is new video HP drivers for your PC, download and install them.  If there is no newer drivers, I would leave it alone.

  I am running Windows 7 64 bit.
  I tried to go to the Nvidia website and installed the driver from there. Good, however, he removed Aero interface, so I rolled back driver.

  Check the drivers in Windows 7 64-bit compatibility mode in the Compatibility Center. The driver update Nvidia is likely still to be released by the manufacturer Nvidia, even if you are prompted for an update.

• Updates... Which one to choose?

  If the updates that are provided are so important, that HP provides them, why wouldn't accept all? Why I be offered the option to install or not to install? I do not understand almost all of them say. So, how to make a guess, one way or another? Should I just install all the updates? It would be the safer plan for someone, like me, who is a little computer illiterate?                          Thank you

  It can be confusing when you see a list of the updates that were often less-than-useful descriptions.  A good rule is to allow all Microsoft updates as these will often focus on issues of security with the operating system.  The updates you mention in your post that are offered by HP, I would consider it.

  1. you have a problem with your PC that is mentioned in the updates are available.  Forinstance, if you scan a document or image, you are able to find the file.  If you can't find the file, it would be a good idea to apply update no. 3, but if you have no problem to find the file, there is really no need.

  2. the second update is a driver for your Modem PCI.  Once again, if this device works Ok (or like me, you do not use) there is really no need to apply the update.  This also applies to the first update, you mention - if you have never had the 'Installation cancelled' error you need to apply the patch.  If it arise in the future, you can always apply the update then.

  Updates BIOS will always have tem "Bios" in the description and code no.. as F14 or F32A also in the description.

  If you are ever in case of doubt, you can always ask your question on this forum and there are a lot of people here who will be able to advise you.

• After download Photoshop elements 13 there are two folders to the title of 'package' have both a setup.exe.  Which one to use?

  The 'package' folder for Photoshop elements 13 donwloaded has two subfolders named "PhotoshopElem13 32 bits" and the other "PSE13".  Both contain a file "set - up.exe".  There is no instructions on the difference and that might make install.  Which one?

• After Windows Update my NVIDIA GeForce 9800GX2 does not use NVIDIA drivers

  Vista Ultimate x 64 with NVIDIA GeForce 9800GX2 graphics card.

  It worked perfectly until one update windows cannot load the new driver for the graphics card; now, it will work only in VGA mode, and the map is shown as an unknown device in Device Manager.

  I tried to manually load the drivers for the card, but Vista some how block installation.

  How can I get my drivers loaded so I can use the graphics on this card.

  Try drivesweep. 3rd party software to remove the drivers.

  (1) uninstalled the drivers first.
  (2) run the driver scan, this will clear the registry of nvidia
  (3) remove the folders from nvidia.
  (4) reinstall the drivers (safe mode)

• Black screen on startup after update of nvidia driver geforce 8600M GT XP home with Bootcamp on dual-boot MacBook Pro 3.1

  My computer is a 15 "MacBook Pro Intel Core 2 Duo dual boot Windows XP family. I recently upgraded to Bootcamp 3.1 that caused a major graphics display problem: the screen resolution has been set to 640 x 480 and wouldn't all interface fit properly on the screen, making it difficult to use to completely unusable. Finally, I figured out to roll back the Nvidia GeForce 8600 M GT driver of the 197 present in the previous version of 195.

  It's all working again.  XP, the interface and all my apps worked fine.  However, a couple of my applications asked me to update the driver, and I am just curious stupidly.  So, I turned on the system restore, backed up my XP using Winclone partition and tried to update the driver again. This time, the problem is even worse. Once XP has started, the screen goes black and I don't have access to the operating system at all.

  Is it still possible to roll back the graphics card driver without wipe partition, completely reinstall XP through bootcamp Assistant and then reload my clone? I have the XP installation dvd, but do not know how to proceed with him.

  OK, I solved my problem. I managed to solve this problem by booting in safe mode using my installation cd.  This got me to the home user interface screen where I could access the nvidia folder and reinstall the previous version of the driver.

  Hope this helps someone else out there with a similar problem.

• Management of VMs: Which one to use, "hosts and Clusters" or "models and virtual computers.

  Hi all

  As the subject says, when you manage virtual machines, which is better to use? Hosts and Clusters? Models and virtual computers?

  It's our facility:

  Previously we had only been using "Hosts and Clusters" manage all of our virtual machines. We organize objects of the individual within vApps and Resource Pools. We had also installation on these both parent objects permissions for who has access to what.

  Basically, we have about 12 members. Everyone has their own virtual machines that they use for training, etc. We manage centralized via AD with users and groups user access. We also have some users assigned to some hosts to maintain the level of things between the two hosts. Our license does not DRS, BTW.

  I just replaced our server vCenter in preparation for our 4.1 vSphere upgrade later this year, Yes, we are on vSphere 4.0 currently. So I went ahead and 'computers models and virtual"allowing to create user folders, gave users access and placed virtual machines of all users within these folders. (I heard recently that the use of the hosts and Clusters was semantically incorrect). Even if they have access to their folder, they cannot create a virtual machine because they cannot access a host. A computer file virtual and models can be assigned to a host?

  I didn't assign permissions to each user in order to add to each host, because I didn't want others to mess with other virtual machines. All users previously red access only, but sinc the virtual machines and templates folders are not assigned to any host, they can get in their folder to create and manage their virtual machines.

  Then, I go on this wrong all the models and virtual computers and do I just keep using our hosts and Clusters of installation above permissions groups?

  Any advice on the semantics in this would be appreciated.

  I solved my problems.

  Check book Scott Lowes ' Mastering VMware vSphere 4 "Chapter 9, he described the use of Resource Pools to the VM group under the view of the hosts & Clusters. Using the same names as the files under VMs & models and adding the same permissions, I was able to force every user to use their own folder under VMs & templates and only their Resource Pool under hosts & Clusters. So now the two views reflect the objects of each user and their access controls are correct.

  Items to remove this Lessines:

  Use Of Resource Pools under host & Clusters to manage the default host for users.

  Files under VMs & models allows you to manage virtual machines model announcement for each user (simple view).

• Java ME SDK versions 3.2 and 3.3/3.4. Which one to use for 3.2 devices?

  We are at the point of a Java ME 3.2 device that will not be 3.3 or 3.4 in the near future. There are two versions of the SDK, but I don't see if you use the SDK 3.3/3.4 I can generate code to run in point 3.2.

  Also, we will start developing for Java ME 3.3 features as well.

  
  Can I use only 3.3/3.4 SDK for all software, or to have 2 environments, one for each version?

  3.2 and 3.3 me have significant differences in the peripheral access API.

  So, for 3.2 device you use ME SDK 3.2.

  For 3.3 devices you can use both ME SDK 3.3 or ME SDK 3.4 (there is no change in API between ME SDK 3.3 and 3.4 of the SDk to me), however in this case, I recommend using ME SDK 3.4 as the newest one.

• Which one to use?

  I am currently running the Palm Desktop 4.1.4 not 'E' version, which seems to do what I need it to do.

  But the Verizon cd, which came with the replacement phone bought on ebay a version 4.2 for Win and Mac on it.

  Question: what is the best?  What I will win by going to the version "E" (which I'm apparently not noticed so far) or version 4.2, which offers NO Prize for download? (I wonder why!)

  Palm said that 4.2 is for Mac only, the Verizon cd says that 'their' 4.2 is compatible with systems both Win and Mac.

  Any thoughts?

  If you go the the E version you lose media sync capabilities. Go until version 4.2 does not give you a lot of extra benefits, it's just a newer version supplied with new devices.

  Stick with the 4.1.4 version suits you very well and will give you a little more of a hassle (no need to have to worry about the upgrade).

• New on vmware which one to use.

  Hello everyone, I'll buy a desktop computer with 8 16gig of memory - 1 TB hard, AMD Quad-Core etc. It comes to my vision, I want to have this box as a server vm with the positions of vm out there which consist, linux, mac os if possible operating system, windows server 2008 r2 with hyper-v. This should be right, I am fed of co-workers mac os will be difficult to get there, but it is do able. Of course all the software will be licensed copies. All rear power to make this as simple and straight forward as possible is appreciated.

  For the virtualization software, you can use VMplayer is free or buy a copy of VMware Workstation which richer in functionality as VMplayer - two of these willl allow allows you to create virtual machines with the operating systems you are looking at.

• Generate/play digital Pulse - which one to use?

  I use NEITHER cDAQ-9172 (with NI 9472 output module and input module (9421))   I am trying to generate a pulse, run it through a system (just a resistance at this point) and then read it in labview.  I am in a position to generate the momentum without problem, but whenever I try to read it I get an error about the clock.  Any suggestions?

  Looks like that I thought about it.  I had the said clock as timed material, but my hardware was wired wrong.  Once I corrected the connections it worked, so that must have been the problem.

• Don't know which one to use, virtual server or ESXi

  I have a couple of Windows server running on IBM e series.  They do not work with heavy loads so I thought to bring together them.  I used Virtual Server 1 x front on my desk and loved so I thought to use it, but now that ESXi is available I want to understand if this is a better option.

  I know that ESXi will run the VM faster and uses fewer resources, but from what I read, it seems that it is not as easy to manage.  Everyone notes that the console is difficult to transition to?  Furthermore, what about backups?  For example, if I want to make a snapshot I can run and copy off in my NAS box, but it seems that you cannot directly access the VM ESXi files.  Is this correct?

  A snapshot is not a good method of backup, and this isn't how it should be used.  A snapshot preserves the State of a virtual machine that allows you to make changes and revert to a previous state if you need to.  Should not be considered as an alternative to long-term backup.  That's why you have to VCB.

  ESX 3i is very easy to manage, the hardest part is not console, so you can not do operations on the host easily, but you can copy files from ESX via the data store.  While ESX is more suited for very large like VM 15 guests or more, and if you are not running a very high load and not many VM VM Server will work fine.  There isn't really a difference in performance between any virtualization product until you start to reach the breaking point.  ESX can accommodate dozens of virtual machines on a computer, is there that ESX is really profitable (and I know that ESX 3i is free) but pound for pound can match VM Ware ESX Server 3i for small host environments, and given that it's windows it does not have a lot to manage.

• Why several versions of swf and which one to use?

  I completed the review of all the different threads associated with several full motion.swfs created by publishing a .cp as swf file. I am absolutely amazed that the process is so difficult. Honestly, the help doc made it sound like "just insert the file swf and go! No mention of this mess.

  If I would have known I would not have recommended the purchase. But, here it is, then what are you doing?

  My issues desperate, outside of what am I doing wrong, are 1) outside the copy of all FM, sovereign wealth funds in the folder data\resources (not an option) is possible to consolidate all SWFs in a single swf file?

  LOL, I think you're just overthinking it.

  When you publish the temporary folder it created SWF, right?

  Thus, on the empty slides, you just need to click on them to open them in the editor of Captivate.

  Then click on Insert > Animation and head toward them.
