  Yes... from the 10.3.1 deployments, there have been many many people have reported problems when using automated processes "update." Reload the operating system (via the 'official' methods) healed often their problems. Sometimes more is necessary, but this is the first step to try to resolve the problems caused by something of potentially wrong with the automatic update process.

  I'm sure I've upgraded to Vista SP2, but not absolute, I can't find a lot of information in the case of the newspapers with the service pack level... only vista combined with some process is perceptible. I bought July ' 09 new and it came pre-installed with Vista on it. I think this is the tool I used to remove McAfee on this; It also came with Norton as an alternative option and both have been removed using their tools to uninstall BitDefender installation instructions walked me through the location and the removal of two of them before installing BitDefender on the computer. My user account is configured as an administrator, but when I right click on programs with the shield of the UAC on them, I'm not running as an administrator. The UAC slider is set at the 2nd ranked (by default); but I do not know how it was listed previous, I wondered about moving down one notch (but he advises not and I don't want to spoil anything).

  KAV will slow down your pc, it's a resource hog, put on pause/output and see the difference.

  I upgraded to 3.2 APEX today, and I find things that broke in my application. The 3.2 installation went well, then I passed to the schema APEX_030200 and activated the APEX_PUBLIC_USER bounced the Web server and was able to do. But two of my apps were missing.   The variable binding is an application variable. If I use a hard value, the LOV works fine, but as soon as I change out a substitution variable, the drop happens nulll - no value at all.

  For the LOV if you use v ('G_USER_ORGID') how it works?

I suggest you to start the computer in safe mode to see if the problem that is happening there. Read this article here: try safe mode if your Mac does not start-up. Even if the Mac starts up properly, safe mode will eliminate startup problems that could cause problems like what you experience with the Finder.

  Start in safe mode

  Follow these steps to start in safe mode.

  1. Start or restart your Mac.
  2. As soon as you hear the startup tone, hold down the SHIFT key.
  3. Release the SHIFT key when you see the logo Apple appears on the screen.

  After the Apple logo appears, this may take longer than usual to reach the login screen or your office. This is because your Mac performs a check of directory of your drive to boot in safe mode.

  To leave safe mode, restart your computer without pressing any keys during startup.

  If you do not hear a startup chime after pressing the power button, see what to do if your Mac does not illuminate.

  If you use FileVault

  If your boot drive is encrypted with FileVault, you can always hold the SHIFT key immediately after switch on/off your Mac to boot into safe mode.   I have a lot of customers running a 16-bit MS-DOS - program that receives the same error.  It seems not to be a malware problem, as it is homogeneous across many machines (unless, of course, all have the same problem of malware).  By uninstalling the KB2707511 and the KB2709162 they all work. Something in these updates is in conflict with something in these dos programs causing the "NTVDM. Erorr EXE'.
