Update of Silverlight caused black screen on Netflix
Now that I've updated to Silverlight, Netflix work anymore - I just get a black screen.
- I tried to delete all applications Silverlight plug-ins, etc.
- There is no plug-ins to remove.
- I erased from the Recycle Bin, deleted the cookies and update of Safari.
- I even tried to install an older version of Silverlight without result.
I looked into other online forums and this seems to be fairly widespread, but none of the solutions I found worked. Someone at - it another idea?

It sounds like this during the update of the BIOS, that something was going wrong. I think that the ROM module must be reflashed or in the worst cases, the motherboard should be replaced.
In any case, you should contact an ASP for help. Technicians can try to reflash the ROM module and solve this problem.

Updates to Silverlight causing Windows 7 32-bit system to hang at the office
Having two machines running windows 7 Pro 32-bit. After yesterdays critical updated for Silverlight, both machines will begin but crashes after loading office. At this point, I can see the lights in car crazy but can not enter in the Manager of tasks to process information. Can not open all apps and get no response, but the mouse pointer is active. Boot into safe mode and do the system restore to remove update Silverlight and both machines run perfectly. Any ideas?

Just thought I'd share what he had me flumoxed for awhile.
I found that Windows Update has published around July 16, 2009 cause BT crash and Wlindows to go back to a blue screen.
KB961371 is installed automatically by Windows Update If you have set it to do.
Unistalling it end the Bluescreens.

I've done a few things:
(1) I checked the updates in the App Store. Nothing obvious jumped.
(2) I tried to restart everything again. No luck.
(3) I checked System > Library > CoreServices > Firmware updates. It is empty.
Not sure why it does this. But really want to stop. It makes reboot take an extra + 30 seconds, at least.

I suggest to manually restart the computer and try to start in safe mode and perform a System Restore. To restore the operating system to an earlier point in time, follow these steps:
1. Click Start, type system restore in the search box, and then click System Restore in the list programs. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type your password or click on continue.
2. in the System Restore dialog box, click on choose a different restore point and then click Next.
3. in the list of restore points, click a restore point created before you started having the problem, and then click Next.
4. click on finish.Once the computer is restored to the earlier date, try to install the updates manually.
You won't lose your data saved in the hard disk by performing a system restore.

You can access Mode safe? Repeatedly press F8 as you start? If yes you can try Control Panel
-Double click - Driver tab - click on UPDATE driver - device Manager - map - graph

Black screen problems are extremely difficult to repair and all hotfix is usually a hit or miss
base. That there is no information on a black screen as there is just a blue screen
adds to the difficulty. Often using a restore point or Startup Repair will have no effect.

I have a desktop HP Pavilion Elite HPE-400z running Windows 7 (64), my computer was working fine, however I thought that I needed to update the drivers and things from the HP website.
The first thing I installed was the following: H - RS880 - Μatx Motherboard BIOS Update
That restarted immediately frozen mouse on a black screen. When I turn on the computer the lights and the fan turns on but the screen remains black. Their is nothing wrong with the monitor, it's light is on, but when turn light it just says: "monitor going to sleep".

Disconnect the PC and press and hold power for 30 seconds. Remove and replace the battery CMOS. It's a $4 item. Now let's see what happens. If no joy, then try the steps above once again.
If your PC support has been changed or modified then put it back in its original state.

New update causes macbook black screen failure
I just installed the latest update to the design of the experiment, and now, whenever I run the application, I get a black screen of death crash.
I use a Macbook Pro retina 2013 model.
I uninstalled the app and reinstalled a fresh version, but the problem still persists.
Someone else has this problem and is there a work around? Customer, I have work to do today!

- Try to restart in Safe Mode - reboot and hold down the SHIFT key. Then, run the application and see what happens.
- It could be a problem with your PRAM - a member of the team suggested trying the reset of the PRAM: A Solution for the MacBook Pro to boot to a black screen

Satellite L300 - update BIOS black screen caused to go
Got Tempro opinion on Satellite L300 Bios upgrade. During the upgrade installation, laptop rebooted by itself. Result is fresh light on and power light, fan turns but black screen. What should I do to recover the machine.
Try this:
Remove the battery and the AC and let sit for an hour, then try to start again.
Open memory cover and remove the second Module of RAM (or change the size of the RAM). This may reset the system and startup.If this fails, the BIOS was damaged, in which case you will have to send the laptop to an ASP for repair.

Discovered this cause after several days using the Safe Mode and system restore to get the job of the computer. I couldn't uninstall it so I reinstalled a new version of Security Essentials, and this seems to have cured the problem.
But this bad patch has "successfully" installed on my computer several times
over several days last week and is always sent by Microsoft for installation.

Firefox 9.0.1 only video stream Netflix - goes to black screen.
I've updated my Mac Firefox 9.0.1 and now can't get videos to stream on Netflix. It's just a black screen. I googled the bug and found a conversation but I don't speak tech.
I am running Silverlight 5.0.61118.0. How a) remedy or b) back to another version of Firefox that will allow me to stream.
Closing Firefox.
Open applications. Select Firefox in a single click.
CTL + i this will open a window.
At the bottom, click on the box that says start in 32-bit mode.It worked for me and my Mac (with Silverlight, Firefox and other updates all courses).
