    I get the blue screen when I install the above, and this update was 12/01/2011 and continues to reappear after I restore the system to January 9. So I turned off auto updates but isn't this bad since I DON'T want to prevent remote control?  What can I do to fix these two updates. No blue screen before these updates, but as soon as I say yes to reboot on blue screen. What is a L1T (level a techie) to do. I need this computer until I get a job!

    Thanks to the intervention of Halima S... I'm ready to tackle this problem without restoring the system. My only concern is that this command deletes previous restore dates and that the option is permanently deleted. However, first I have to print the steps to follow for a clean boot and re-read. I will work from there... Still down thanks!

    Hi Apple2DellExperience,

    1. are you able to install some other updates on the computer?

    2. what was the message on blue screen?

    3. do you have security software installed on the computer?

    It is not recommended to disable the automatic update.

    These updates will be revived again after the system restore.

    I suggest that you manually download and install the update, check if it works.

    Also, make sure you disable all the third-party program installed on the computer during the update installation process.

    To help resolve the error and other messages, you can start Windows Vista or Windows 7 by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

    drusecord,
    First thing is to update your network drivers for your system.  Then see if after the update of safety, you have a problem.  If you do, I would do the following:

    Disk error checking

    System File Checker

    Then if there are updates that you already have, but are always available to consult this information:

    Hello, first of all, thanks to anyone who can help me!

    I have problems to install the platform update Supplement for Windows Vista update: KB2117917-french, who keeps trying to update automatically when you start computer.

    Basically, what happens is I turns off my computer and it will update first before turning itself off. I then come back on and it will start installation of finish 3 steps. After 100% on the last screen of the stage becomes black and restarts. As his departure upward, it goes to a black screen and it says something about registry 0/621 or so then he load some files. THEN it goes black again and restart once more.

    This time, it goes to the screen similar to where it puts up-to-date, except it says return update, and then my windows loads very well.

    It's a constant loop and I really need help. I tried the system restore, but I had not all dates really old to restore, and the older that I could do has not solved the problem.

    Again, any help would be appreciated. ^_^

    Recently, I did the update of security and had 17 updates installed.  After installation I closed the computer for the day.  The next time that I started it upward, I received a stop error message 0x81ecbe79 and he started a reboot loop and I kept getting error code 0 x 81 different whenever it restarted.  The first 4 digits are the same with the rest changing with the exception of the 79 at the end.  So far he has done about 30 times until I finally stopped him frustration.  Also sometimes it would ask if I wanted to check on the web for a fix, but he continued the loop.  The loop stops at different places during the boot sequence.  Once he got almost completely before it restarts and a couple of times, it was in the screen of welcome and rebooted.  Is there a fix or do I have to do a clean install?  The way it is now I'm not sure that I can make a back up of my wife's Family Tree Maker files and get it all.

    1. try to restore the system and if necessary a startup repair.

    2. data recovery.

    3. where questions of Windows updates.

    1.

    Restore point:

    Try typing F8 at startup and in the list of Boot selections, select Mode safe using ARROW top to go there > and then press ENTER.

    Try a restore of the system once, to choose a Restore Point prior to your problem...

    Click Start > programs > Accessories > system tools > system restore > choose another time > next > etc.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    If restore work not and you do not have a Vista DVD from Microsoft, do a repair disc to do a Startup Repair:
    Download the ISO on the link provided and make a record of repair time it starts.
    Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.
    At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu.
    When you have changed that, insert the Bootable disk you did in the drive and reboot.
    Link above shows what the process looks like and a manual, it load the repair options.
It cannot be used to install or reinstall Windows Vista, and is just a Windows PE interface to recovering your PC. Technically, we could re-create this installation with downloadable media media freely from Microsoft (namely the Microsoft WAIK, several gigabyte download); but it is pretty darn decent of Microsoft to present Windows users who might not be able to create such a thing on their own.
    Read all the info on the website on how to create and use it.
    ISO Burner: http://www.snapfiles.com/get/active-isoburner.html
    It's a very good Vista startup repair disk.
    You can do a system restart tool, system, etc it restore.
    It is NOT a disc of resettlement.
    And the 32-bit is what normally comes on a computer, unless 64-bit.
    2.
    Data recovery:
    1. slave of your hard drive in another computer and read/save your data out there.
    2. put your Hard drive in a USB hard drive case, plug it into another computer and read/save from there.
    3 Alternatively, use Knoppix Live CD to recover data:
    http://www.Knopper.NET/Knoppix/index-en.html
    Download/save the file Knoppix Live CD ISO above.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

    http://isorecorder.alexfeinman.com/isorecorder.htm

    Download the Vista software from the link above.

    After installing above ISO burning software, right click on the Knoppix ISO file > copy the Image to a CD.

    Knoppix is not installed on your PC; use only the resources of your PC, RAM, graphics etc.

    Change the boot order in YOUR computer/laptop to the CD/DVD Drive 1st in the boot order.

    Plug a Flash Drive/Memory Stick, BOOT with the Live CD, and you should be able to read the hard drive.

    When the desktop loads, you will see at least two drive hard icons on the desktop (one for your hard drive) and one for the USB key.

    Click on the icons of hard drive to open and to understand which drive is which.

    Click the icon for the USB drive and click on "Actions > Change the read/write mode" so you can write to disk (it is read-only by default for security reasons).

    Now to find the files you want to back up, just drag and drop them on the USB. When you're done, shut down the system and remove the USB key.

  • Update Error 80070002 for Windows Vista 64-bit w / SP2 installed

    I have experienced all the steps that I found online, that it is:
    Stopping the service, delete the file and restart the service
    Microsoft Fix It program, run twice
    Analysis of Microsoft tool used, meanwhile I wonder to download and install the hotfix for Windows (KB947821) but always part of the track stops by and never completely finished.

    I'm at my wits end here because I'm starting to think that the only way to fix this is a complete system recovery.  If anyone can offer advice more or may show something I'm doing wrong please.

    Thanks in advance.

    Only a clean installation may solve your problem.

    If you don't want to "take any chances", do so now.  If this isn't the case, physically disconnect the computer internet until you have time to do.

    Yes. You need to reinstall everything- all the updates, all the
    programs installed, all your data files (that you must first
    back up and save on an external support).

    Reinstalling Windows is a lot of work, as I said before and in my
    view should never be done except when absolutely necessary.

    Here's an excerpt from my standard post on this topic:
    You must restore all backups of your data, you must reinstall all
    your programs, you must reinstall all Windows and application
    updates, you must locate and install all the drivers needed to
    your system, you must recustomize Windows and all your applications to work
    the way you are comfortable with.

    In addition to all these things being long and painful, you can
    have trouble with some of them: you will find all your CDs application?
    You will find all the necessary installation codes? Do you have any data
    backups to restore? Do you remember yet all customizations and
    tweaks can be installed to make everything work the way that you
    as?

    So, again, sometimes must do. But if you do not have
    to
    , I highly recommend that you do not have.
