    Hello

Click Start > right click on computer > left click on properties > see if you have Vista 32 bit or Vista 64-bit installed.

It will also tell you here what Service Packs, if any, are already installed.

Then, choose the download of 'bit' OK to use to install Service Packs, first of all the installation of SP1.

    Vista SP1 32-bit (x 86): http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=30

  • Impossible to install Vista Service Pack 1 through Windows Update

    Hello

Recently I had to reinstall windows vista home premium 32 bit on my old acer aspire laptop. I did a "clean install", all was well with this operation. I had to install a large number of various updates after doing, now I am notified via windows update vista service pack 1 is available for download/installation. When I try to perform this action, I get a popup window that informs me of what to know before installing sp1, then I reach a window where I have to accept the terms of the software installation. Once I click on the little square and accept the conditions, it goes to another window with two choices... install & cancel, when I click the button install... instead of windows update download and install the update, I am presented with the view of windows update, the update has been installed successfully When in fact it was not. I prefer to install sp1 via windows update, because she was supposed to be a size smaller than the stand-alone version available on microsofts website. Has anyone else had the same question, and if so how do you fix? Of course this laptop is not my main computer, but as it still works very well I continue to use it.

    Thank you

    David

  • Install Vista Service Pack 1

I recently had to reinstall my computer & operating system (Vista).  Then, I've updated the Vista service pack 1.  However, although the history of the update indicates that the service pack has been updated "successfully", it does not seem to be that when I check the Windows Update menu and available updates, Vista Service Pack 1 (KB936330) is visible for the update.  In addition, recently, I tried to install Norton 360 and I get a message that the software is not compatible with my computer/operating system, I need to have, among a list of operating systems, Vista Service Pack 1 or later updated.

    Can anyone help?

    Thank you

Thanks for the helpful tips.  However, I've solved my problems by downloading a stand along Service Pack 1 (instead of repeating the download task in my menu "Download availble").  I was able to update SP1, and more importantly see as Service Pack 1 edition of Windows in the "basic information" for my system.  After that road, I was able to install my new Norton 360 Security drive with no problems.

Thanks again to this community for your quick response.

    Hello

May I ask how you are trying to install the Vista SP1?
You try to first download it from the Microsoft Web site, and after a full download you are trying to install it?

I have a Vista on my laptop too and I installed the Vista SP1 through the automatic update of the OS.

The Vista SP1 update automatically, please go to-> Windows Update control panel.

Here you must press the button install updates.

The entire procedure will take some time, but everything should run automatically.

  • Update for Windows Vista Service Pack 2 for x 64 systems (KB948465) _

Whenever I try to update Vista Svc Pack2, she says that it has completed successfully. When restarting the laptop he spends 1 out of 3 in which the 1 configuration ends then start the 2nd and gets 1%, it restarts again and comes back with an error message. I have to shut down the computer and then the computer performs a check to boot. According to me, trying to download Service Pack 2, it has corrupted systems as if it has a virus. Please can someone help me with this, it's very annoying.

3A give Norton or McAfee application already installed on the computer?
