  Recently had a file corruption on one of my devices logitech with profiles. Tried for weeks the problem without a re - install, but nothing has worked. Decided to format for sorting. After the format, I installed the drivers and then did the windows updates which was when the PC froze during the Setup period before closing. It was left overnight to see if maybe it was just take longer than normal on 1 update, but nothing has changed.

  Had to restart and go into safe mode do a system restore to get windows to work. Tried a fix it tool updates microsoft and tried reset. There is same problem.

  Re-formatted PC, installed only eset smart security and fact updates windows. Once again the PC froze during configuration. This time, I decided to make a secure, used formattingDBAN PRNG stream with 3 assists. Installed windows and once again exactly the same problem.

  I am at a loss for what else I could possibly do to remedy this problem.

  After a-installing Eset Smart Security, the updates installed correctly... must be a problem with one of them.

  1: re-installed drivers from the chipset of the old file to download, I got.

  2: re-installed Skype with an OLD install file, I had.

  3: Skype UNINTALL

  4: Reinstall Skype from the old file again.

  Thank you very much for your help. I tried to use the patch program in suggestion (1). This did not help. In the end, I have solved the problem by starting the computer in safe mode. This allowed then updates the installation (the case as on normal start up the computer froze as he tried to set up the updates). Then I have to restart the computer normally without any problems. I have no idea why it worked! Thanks again.

But as of March 26, 2011, my computer began to freeze in minutes, whenever the update of windows runs. I have troubleshooted by stopping the process of difference in msconfig and it's only when I put the windows update to run at startup of my computer screen would be blocked and I can not access explore or other programs. There is no blue screen or black screen and the movements of mice after the question starts but then it freezes as well and I do a forced shut down using the power button.   I have a brand new Packard Bell PC, AMD Athon II X 4 605th CPU, HDD 500 GB, 3 GB of DDR3 memory, running Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit. Security is ESET Smart Security 4.

  I can load the updates, but when it restarts it stalls at 15% during the configuration of the changes. I left that night to run and it still crashes. Only remedy seems to be off and restart in safe mode and then restart again so we're back to zero.

  Only change I made to the system's security review to operate the SONOS software.

  Personal data backup (which none should be considered 100% reliable at this point) then format the HARD disk and do a clean install of Windows. Please note that a repair installation (upgrade AKA on-site) will NOT fix it!

  Looks more like a hardware or a hardware driver issue.

  I do not remember what, if any, of what you can do in mode safe - but give it a shot.  Even some parts, that you did before.

  I recently updated my card motherboard and CPU. Went from Intel Core2Duo to AMD FX 6 core and motherboard went from Foxconn to an MSI a not sure about the particular model but both were on the card. I had to do a complete fresh re-install of Windows 7 Home 64 bit just to get the pc to boot. I first noticed the problem whenever I plugged my speakers sound on Board decision-making. I thought that it could be a conflict with my mouse because as soon as I plugged it it it would freeze upwards. I went on the installation disc motherboard and ensured that all drivers have been installed correctly. I then plugged my speakers back in and it worked fine. Now it hangs just periodically when I am downloading and trying to use google chrome

• Windows 8 freezes and gives the Blue error screen every hour approximately

  Hello guys. I have a problem with my system: windows 8 freezes and gives the Blue error screen every hour or more. usually it freezes, displays a blue error screen (clock watchdog timeout knode or not handled exception or something on a system request), I force restart it, and then it happens again (sometimes 3 - 4 times in a row, then it will be fine for another time).   DMP file is corrupted and useless.  Please reconfigure your system for dmp files small as described in this wiki

  Please provide us with your administrative Event Viewer logs by following these steps:

  Press Win + 'R' and type eventvwr > enter

  Expand custom views
  Click the administrative events
  Right-click Administrative events
  Record all events in custom view as...
  Save them to a folder where you will remember which folder and save it as Errors.evtx
  Go where you saved Errors.evtx
  Make a right click Errors.evtx-> send to compressed (zipped) folder of->
  Download the .zip for Onedrive or a file sharing service file and link to it in your next post

  If you have updated to win 8.1 and you get the error message " " " the system cannot find the specified file" it is a known problem.  The work around is to change the registry.  If you are not comfortable doing this DON'T.  If you are, save the key before making

  Press Win + 'R' and enter regedit

  HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\WINEVT\Channels. Delete "Microsoft-Windows-DxpTaskRingtone/analytical.
