Update XP to SP3 on hp Pavilion f1503

I could not install SP3 on my F1503.  First of all, I was unable to download 'active x' controls necessary for installation.  I have been in contact with Microsoft and tried several different approaches.  Still no help.  Now I have a new directive from Microsoft, but she says to contact HP to see if iis SP3 compatible with my computer before continuing.  She said: "Nancy, because your computer is an old HP, some devices may not compatible with S3 5 years.» Therefore, we strongly recommend contact you HP first to see if they recommend that you install SP3 on your computer. This avoids unexpected problems occur during or after the installation of SP3. »

Do you know if SP3 must be installed?

Thank you, nancylaw

Oh yes, I just realized that.  The model # is A630N.  Bought 7/2004, although I have not started using it until 1/2005.

Thank you, nancylaw

Sorry that person to return to you earlier on this subject...

I've been out for a while and only just now saw this. do not know why no one else has answered you.

Anyway... my advice would be DO NOT upgrade to Win10.  You have a really old video chipset and there is no new Win10 driver for it, that would have relegated you to something that Microsoft calls a basic graphics card, which means you would get low resolution and poor performance.

In addition, lack of HP Win10 drivers for your other hardware could very well make other functions turnine, as well.

Older PCs simply did not succeed well with the upgrade - but at least you gave on this subject in advance and do not end with a trashed PC - what happened to me!

  • update to Media Center computer HP Pavilion a1323w

I had problems with my original computer HP Pavilion a1323w that my only change was to add a memory to handle the upgrade to Windows 7 last year.  More recently, I bought a HP 110-023w desktop with Windows 8 (now updated to 8.1), which has much better bios, etc., but has no built-in cd/dvd drivers, etc., which has the a1323w.  Is it possible to convert the a1323w into a version that is more comparable to the 110-023w at the operational level, speed, etc., but still provides the disk drivers, etc.?  How?  How much would it cost?

    Welcome to the forum.

The short answer is, you will not be able to upgrade the computer to operate as the new computer.  It is simply old technology.  Maximum supported by the motherboard memory is 2 GB.  He's the weak link even with a discrete video card.  If you upgrade the video card, power supply (PSU) will also need to be upgraded.  With all these improvements, there will be still much slower.

  • Updated my graphics card for HP Pavilion Elite e9107c?

    Hi all

I want to update my graphics card for my computer, I can barely run settings means on most games these days, I never upgraded a computer in front of either, this was pre-built.

I am aware that the case is really small, but I'm not interested to buy a new computer/case. I want to just buy a graphics card and a power supply so I can run games like Guild Wars 2 and BF3 on medium-high settings. My computer can not handle same BF3 with resolution of 800 x 600, with windows, and graphic down, I get 10 frames per second at most out of it.

Then I would ask, what is the best graphics card that can fit in my computer? And her appropriate food to go with it?

    TECHNICAL DATA:

Computer name: HP Pavilion Elite e9107c

Processor: Intel Core 2 Quad Q8200(2.33GHz)

Graphics card: ATI Radeon HD 4350

    Power: 300W

    Motherboard:

    RAM: 8 GB

    32-bit operating system - Windows 7

I am sure that all this is true, if I'm wrong, you can check online, its pre-built and I have not touched since.

I don't know what my motherboard, is the one that comes with the computer, I found this out of a site, and I think it's good, I'm not too sure:

    Motherboard - PEGATRON CORPORATION / model: 1.01 Eureka3

I know either the size of the card, or the power supply.

Whatever it is it would help a lot! My computer is already 3 years old, and I can not play games like TF2 and Skyrim above 800 x 600 with the everything low-medium settings by getting 20 + FPS.

Thanks in advance for the answers, I will add more information, if I listed those are not sufficient.

    Navibol,

Looking at your specifications and the requirements of the games you listed, BF3 is most intense.

    (1) you must measure the length available. See here

    (2) I would recommend the EVGA GTX560 or GTX560Ti, see here

    3) the minimum POWER supply: 560 suggests a 450W power supply, the 560Ti suggests 500W PSU.

I would say the Rosewill 630 or Corsair 600 . I'm the Rosewill this bias.

Hello, I have a partition of windows xp and windows vista in my laptop Acer. (Pre-installed Vista and XP as a secondary operating system).
    My questions are:

    > Is it OK to upgrade Windows XP SP2 to SP3 of Windows even, it is placed in a dual boot?
    > Don't install SP3 will be erase all content of Windows XP?
    > Is affected the partition of Windows Vista if I download Windows XP SP3 of XP SP2 Partition?
    > If I download the SP3 for Windows XP in the Microsoft.com site, it needs to be bootable and recorded in a CD or just run the installer from the hard disk automatically after installation?

    Thanks to all in advance!

You're off topic of the Forum, you have published, which is dedicated to the beta Version of Microsoft Security Esentials

However, I moved the yoru post.

You can update to SP3 on a system XPSP2 dual boot Vista residence. You can not install XP * after * Vista for a Dual Boot system unless you use a 3rd Boot Manager part.
Run the update to SP3 does not erase anything, it updates the XP system components.
There will be no impact to your Vista installation on your system to dual-boot PC.
SP3 is an update. It downloads an installation program analyzes your installation of XP and downloads the bits necessary to update to SP3 then install them after you have saved the files it will replace. You should be able to get SP3 easily by going to Windows Update in XP.

This should eliminate a known problem that manifested by blocking windows update to do research without end and CPU at 100%, what is happening unless the most recent monthly cumulative IE security update is already manually downloaded and installed.  Second Tuesday of each month, this will be a ritual to perform or windows update crashes.  This is caused by a problem with the site Web of windows update is not a problem with your computer. Microsoft is committed to solve the problem which has continued for months.  Promises, promises.  The genesis of the issue took place in the summer 2013 and has been reported in this community after the updates of August, when it was reported that the last cumulative update of security for September KB2870699 be downloaded and installed manually set the CPU of fortification to Windows Update.  The linked thread shows this being reported in September and a month the well-known universal question went from bad to worse, with the installation of the updated cumulative security for IE being the fix manually.  The problem has been compounded by a bad Microsoft Fix it tool that was linked by Microsoft as the fix for Windows Update problems, but the difficulty bad it tool would then instantly to corrupt the registry of a computer of the user and cause an additional problem that would make the BITS and the two stop work, worsening the problem instead of fix windows update problem.  971058 is the famous set and there are other iterations that have the same bad code and cause the corruption of the same register.

The steps above should solve the more obvious and certain to problem. However, there are two other known problems that may also arise and are common questions of interest as the extra aggravation.  The first issue is certain and the other 2 issues can also either or both be also present in the form of a complication.

It often happens that the installation of SP3 will break the windows update feature by not properly installing the windows update agent.  An older version of the windows update agent can be downloaded and saved in the C directory and installed by an execution command.
