Updated BIOS for HP Pavilion dv6t-7000 CTO

I was watching just the updates for my laptop and saw two updates of BIOS here.  I was actually wondering that applied to my machine in particlular.   As you can see, one is more recent that the other has a few months.  This means that there are patches that those older employed already?   If so, why the two list when only the old one is relevant?

Look no further, in this, I took a quick glance at the history of revisions (Versions) for both, and each of them will list as "Current".  It lists as 'F.29 current 10-2013' and the other 'current F.24 02-2013 ".  So, which is actually present?

Anyone can shed some light on this?   I can post more detailed information on my machine on request if it would help.

The one with the later date is more current. It is customary on the computer manufacturers support sites. They will usually keep the latest versions up there with the most recent. Toshiba is particularly wrong about never remove older versions of the drivers and BIOS. And the BIOS updates are cumulative. You can skip to the last and all updates in all drafts will be included. The files are labeled clearly as to their date of issue and that they apply only to models with Intel processors, it should be obvious, that you must install the last being only your machine has an Intel processor. If you need anything anyone else let us know.

  • HP Pavilion dv6t-7000 CTO: impossible to install the Intel HD Graphics driver

    Hello

By mistake, I installed the Standard VGA graphics card to replace the Intel HD graphics card on my laptop. Now, I want to just reinstall the graphics driver Intel Graphics HD 4000. For some reason, I get the error message "Setup could not install one or more device drivers. What is the cause of this problem? I tried to restart, restart in safe mode, disabling/uninstalling the VGA driver, but had no success.

It seems that the driver I'm supposed to install is win64_153336 - using the update utility Intel also gives me this result. He simply refuses to install it. I had this problem before, then I got around it by installing an older driver, sp56808. Now, even if it does not work.

My laptop is a HP dv6t-7000 CTO Entertainment Notebook PC and my OS is Win 7 Ultimate x 64.

    Thank you for your help.

    We can always hope

The problem has been resolved. I ran the utility to update again, then downloaded an older version, which is win64_153335. For some reason any, this version successfully installed. Before that, I always had the same error with the other drivers. I must say that I have no idea of what has past.

It was a pretty trivial thing, and even if it's fixed now, I'm not exactly sure how. I would delete this topic if I could, to leave room for other topics.

  • P7 - 1050t CTO Pavilion: update BIOS on HP Pavilion p7 - 1050t CTO

I have a Pavilion p7 - 1050t CTO Office I tried to get a 610 GT graphics card installed. (I have another question in the forum about this).  However, I wanted to ask a separate question on the BIOS.

My computer came with Windows 7, but I recently upgraded to Windows 10. The BIOS is FRIEND V7.14 dated 11/08/2011. If I have a search for updates on p7 - 1050t and Windows 10 no updates are. However, if I search for updates with the help of HP using Windows 7 as OS, it is an update of the BIOS. Downloaded as .exe file and the given info says to use only with Windows 7.

My question is, should I start in Windows 7 before you attempt the flash update and if it is successful, you who help to then restart in Windows 10 or can I try safely the flash in Windows 10.  I have the ability to dual-boot.

Never mind.  I decided to just buy a new computer.

    Thank you.

    Hello

You may have two configs using SSDS. The first is to get an SSD as Samsung 256 GB 2.5 "(j'ai eu sur mon Core i5/GT 650 M Dv6-7000) Pro and use it as a main boot drive in the hard drive Bay." The second is to have an mSATA (a bit more difficult to access as says Hüffer) SSD as boot drive (I just got one on a laptop of M6-1000) and keep the hard drive for data.

I prefer a pure SSD, but the way with mSATA as boot drive is also OK. However, there is no option in the BIOS to start from mSATA for the boot loader must be installed on the disk 2.5 "hard and the system on the mSATA one. I fear that, in both cases, you will need to perform a new installation, because strong readers are not as large as the original hard drives and recovery disks cannot work with them.

    2. and - important hov is this update? -rigth now I'm under FRIEND 80.16, 05/12/2014

    Kind regards

    Henry

Hello, Anis, my advice to you would be to let your PC as it is until HP finds a solution for this. I don't want to try what I did if they feel uncomfortable or find confusing.

You have any other problem with your HP computer, or you just want to update the BIOS?

If your PC works well otherwise I think it would be much safer to wait.

I know that computers can be frustrating, but if one little thing goes wrong, when updating any BIOS of computers it will be unusable.

For someone else think to try what I did, I advise you to wait as I said above to ANIS.

My pc works always fine, no problem * knock wood * , but my experience goes to work with BACK & before the BASIC programming in the 1980s. If the environment was not alien to me.

I do not know HP will find a solution before too long.

    Shores.

  • Updated BIOS for HP Pavilion 7975 does not

I have a HP Pavilion 7975 tower with the Bios original v. 3.05.  I followed the instructions to update to version 3.11 without success.  My system does not start with the startup disk, I created and I'm stuck.  By reading the instructions, they do not seem to make sense, but I tried I tried to follow as shown.  When I restart my PC does not recognize the boot disk and I have to boot from the hard drive.

I discovered that for some reason, the back was boot disk, that I created on the PC I'm working the problem.  I created a different disk to start BACK on another PC and the trunk has worked well.  The instructions to create and load the upgrade of the Bios were still confused, but eventually, I was able to get the new bios loaded.  Thanks for your reply.

  • HP Pavilion dv6t-7000 CTO: fan making loud noise, need of replacement but can't find it

So my laptop fan started to make really loud this rattle sound. Makes me very self-consciousness of me when I'm in public, so I just Don ' t bother bringing them along. But I really need my laptop with me. The noise usually comes out randomly.

I tried the HP part Store selector and in the fan section it lists just the fan button, which is not what I need. I think I need to completely replace the fan at this point (I tried to fix the problem of cleaning the fan out of the dust to check it for possible damage, but can not find what is the problem).

If anyone knows where I can find a spare for my laptop fan and I have to buy with all heat sink heat and thermal paste? I'm pretty experience in the repair of the computer so I have confidence that I can do, more my warranty expired in 2014, so I don't be invalidated anyway.

If it helps any, the product is of # A3E83AV.

The noise is usually caused by a defect in the fan motor bearing.

You were on behalf of the incorrect item.

What you need is the discreet thermal module, which contains the fan a heat for the CPU and video sink.

The part number for the product number of your laptop is 682061-001. It's on the document next to the web HP PartSurfer.

  • Install WD Black2 Dual Drive on a Pavilion dv6t-7000

    Hello

I recently bought a new internal hard drive for my HP Pavilion dv6t-7000 CTO Entertainment Notebook PC and have some difficulties to install the drivers for it. I bought a Western Digital Black2 Dual disc, which is a hybrid disk with 120 GB SSD and 1 TB of HARD drive, but I can't access the 1 TB because the installer for WD drivers keeps returning an error code.

After much digging, I found documentation of the WD site that States the particualr error I received was due to one) the SATA mode to RAID in the BIOS, or b) an Intel driver a RAID reporting configuration. I can not check the BIOS settings myself, because the tab in the BIOS for this is hidden and locked down due to the fact that I'm working on a laptop of HP (I found answers on the forums for models with slightly different laptop computer that reported the AHCI is the default SATA for HP laptops) (, but unable to verify for my particular model). However, I was able to find an Intel driver that can cause the problem in the Device Manager. It is listed under 'Storage controllers' and is called 'Intel(r) ICH8M-E/ICH9M-E SATA RAID Controller '. When you contact the service customer of WD, the representative has tried to help me change this default Microsoft Inbox Driver by following the process: (right click > update driver software > Browse my computer... > choose from the list of device drivers). Unfortunately, it was not useful because the afforementioned Intel driver is the only one available. I was a bit puzzled by that because I installed windows 7 from scratch, only adding the drivers from the HP site needed to establish a wireless connection to download the installation of WD software.

So basically I'm looking for help in these areas: a) to determine the particular my laptop model SATA mode, b) to understand why I have the default Microsoft Inbox Driver, c) installation of the Microsoft Inbox Driver default value or a Variant that works with AHCI, and/or d) any other course of action I could take additional troubleshooting.

Operating system: Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit (installation costs)

Laptop model: HP Pavilion dv6t-7000 CTO Entertainment Notebook PC

Hard disk: Western Digital Black2 Dual Drive

Error: A bad SATA mode in the BIOS or reported by the Intel driver

Pilot suspect: Intel(r) ICH8M-E/ICH9M-E SATA RAID Controller

    Thank you kindly,

    Gorkycreator
