Updated Desktop Manager V4.3 of blackBerry smartphones

Hi all..

I'm wanting to upgrade my Desktop Manager V4.3 to version 4.7. I downloaded the files on the bb site according to my carrier, now my question is to uninstall the version I have now and do a clean install of 4.7? Or will the installer just overwrite the old version? And if an uninstall and reload is island way will I lose the backups that I previously made my bb? Thanks in advance for any advice!

Derrick

BTW... If it's important I have a curve 8330 and Telus is my service provider.

Here is a link to the specific instructions to uninstall:

http://www.BlackBerry.com/BTSC/microsites/search.do?cmd=displayKC&docType=kc&externalId=KB02206&SLIC...

Heavy, I know... but that's what they are.

And you can protect the previous backups by doing a search on your entire hard drive for files with an RPI (*.ipd)... These are the created backup files. You can copy them somewhere safe if you're concerned about losing them.

See you soon!

  • Problems of peripheral connection to the Desktop Manager and Apploader.exe blackBerry Smartphones

Just got a new BB8900 last Friday. On Monday, I met a Reload software: 552 error code and after checking online forums for options on how to fix I finally had to reinstall the operating system and reinstall the new applications, which are not checked by the resettlement process. Because I was afraid to become again this error when I rebooted the machine, I immediately made backups every hour I was reconfigure the device and adding my apps.

Today I was going to do another backup for good measure, and once I have connected my Blackberry to the computer with Desktop Manager running, Desktop Manager crashed and gave me the following error message:

    Signature of the problem:
    Problem event name: APPCRASH

I then tried the APPLOADER. EXE program location in program files/common files/research in motion/apploader. I had used this program yesterday to try to remove applications 1 by 1 with the hope that a single request was causing the error 552. Now for some reason any program as a problem to note the following in the error log file:

Read 1010fffc location caused an access violation.

I've looked through several forums and have not found a solution. What I can tell you is the following:

    (1) the phone works well, but I'm afraid by restarting the phone and another 552 error (there were two deleted apps that will be entirely deleted on reboot). Hope everything is fine but I got two of these 552 errors within 24 and the second came without any warning. If I get this error there is no way to make my backup since I can't connect to DM without it crashing.

    (2) it doesn't seem to be a timing issue, but I deleted the Intellisync folder anyway and it does not solve the problem.

    (3) have rebooted my machine without change to the problem.

    (4) have reinstalled DM Version 5 (this time without Roxio Media software) without change to the problem.

    (5) because now I get an error when connecting to DM and trying to run apploader.exe, there seems to be a setting on my phone which may cause problems (I don't know what it can be, but the APPLOADER program finds a violation of place then maybe the Blackberry software is confused about where to find my Apps?)

    (6) the BlackBerry Device Manager works fine and takes note of my device and the serial number it is necessary.

After my last backup yesterday I probably only installed 3-4 other apps that I had lost and organized/moved files on the phone. So get this problem if shortly after that everything worked fine is staggering.

Another update: it seemed to me I found the problem.  While RIM support recommended I do a reset, I pushed the rest of the phone feature seems to work very well.  I opted to start removing the one phone applications and then try to connect to the Desktop Manager.

Once I removed the ZDNet Tech News For the IT professional and rebooted the phone, I was able to connect and make a backup. I'm sure this app works very well for almost everyone, but for some reason (maybe it is in conflict with another application on my phone), Desktop Manager does not do that and close. Initially, I reinstalled again and was able to make a new backup but an hour later Desktop Manager stops again (perhaps by doing an update on the news it creates a conflict with the Desktop Manager).

Indeed summary of learning since my problem seems to be quite uniqueCurve 8900)

    (1) if the Director of bureau stops and you have tried other solutions on the forums such as deleting the folder Intellisync and reinstalling Desktop Manager, try to remove applications 1 by 1 and restart the phone before trying to connect again to Desktop Manager.

    (2) If you have had this problem, frequently make backups and keep track of what you add to your phone in case there is a problem you know the latest apps to remove (in my case, I couldn't go to my last backup since DM would be closed with the conflict of the app).

    (3) only consider a wipe of the device if you have exhausted your apps withdrawal tests.  Apps that came on your phone which notes the seller in the section about the application that RIM should be good.  Also while on AppWorld apps are offered by BlackBerry, there is no certainty that they will work on your phone.

My blackberry "BOLD" 9000 has received an update from 4.6 to 5.0 YAY I thought how ever this is what happened...

I have connected my 9000 to my laptop, open the clicked Desktop Manager to install and it says first...

"one or more error cannot be resolved" so I had a look on the internet and had been that if you remove your battery and then do it, it will work so I tried and that's what I got:

Any ideas? If anyone can help that would be great! Thank you very much

  • Update to 5.0.0.59 blackBerry Smartphones 3 5.0.0.351 that went terribly wrong

    Help, please!

I'm Dutch, so you won't have much use for my career.

    I have an Apple computer.

After connecting my BB Bold 9700 OS version 5.0.0.351 to my Apple and BlackBerry Desktop Manager computer popped up, he told me that there is an update of the device. "Great, allows you to install"...

He started to back up things. He did what he had to do, the unit restarted... and suddenly: BOOM! Well, not exactly, he said he couldn't update the device and close the Update window. My device don't start up again, saying he had no info. After pulling the battery and restart BlackBerry Desktop Manager said: the device has no software. Then he gave me a screen to update again, including the option of 5.0.0.59 3. I clicked and it worked... Somehow.

But... Now he says that he cannot restore the back top-files to the 'Options', and I've lost type of applications... (even some Core-apps, like BBM...) Somehow, most of the stuff has restored, except for the things I use all the time, my apps... (Fortunately, email worked...). And... My device is not connecting to my BIS, either...

    Help would be very appreciated!

    Kind regards

    Benjamin

A mac makes more complicated since you can not install the operating system on your mac and reinstall.

When a charge of operating system won't and must start over like that, you will lose 3rd party applications.  This also happens on a PC.

You should be able to go to the Restore screen and find the backup file that DM is that manually restore your device.

You can recharge BBMessenger by going on www.blackberry.com/messenger.

Update of the device does not affect BIS.  You will need to return the service directories.  Go to Options > Advanced Options > host Routing Table and click on the menu, then select Save now.

  • Desktop download for Curve 8320 blackBerry Smartphones software

I bought my Curve 8320 from a previous owner and the software CD was not included. Which version to download?

To get the BB Desktop Software to open this link: http://na.blackberry.com/eng/services/desktop/

    Click on the Download"" button.

In the drop-down list select: BlackBerry Desktop Software version 4.7

Click on the button "Next" under the drop-down list

    To find

Desktop Manager 4.7.0 English B59 - without Media Manager

    and download it.

When it is downloaded - install it.

I advised to download BB Desktop Software without Media Manager because it is not necessary to have the Media Manager.

It is possible to avoid the use of Media Manager and transfer of media files directly on the desktop computer memory card.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones Desktop Manager does not recognize Blackberry 9650

    Hello Hmend99,

I'm here to try to help or at least guide you on common sense.

because something similar happened to me and I am sure I know

    What is the problem.

This may be due to the fact possible that the Mac where is your blackberry

undetected can run on 64-BIT KERNEL mode which

BLACKBERRY STILL NOT OFFERED to SUPPORT / DRIVERS FOR.

They know this problem for months and months and until now

they don't seem to really care about their customers or to offer

a stable only 32 & 64 bit driver for mac, instead, they just said

clients (people like you and like me know this kind of questions,

and who expect to have our appliances working like it should and not to

have to deal with the BS like that, because we spent a lot of hard-earned

money for something we thought would work without problem

was available and could easily have gone because if something we

  • Update of the applications of "Apply" blackBerry Smartphones does not work

I have a Blackberry Storm.  In the desktop software, I select the Application Option.  In the screen of the Application it says that I have to update the kernel.  I select it.  When I press the button 'apply' nothing happens.  When I get the desktop software it tells me that I have not updated all my applications.  Why the 'Apply' does not work?  Desktop Sotware is 6.0.1.18.  I use Windows 7.

I really don't think worries of Blackberry.  I know not why this Forum exists since Blackberry doesn't seem all repair, place on it.  I don't know that they read all this.  I sent the following to Verizon to convey my feelings ONLY.  Verizon put me right back in the loop of Blackberry Web.  Hope you have better luck.  I'm heading to another provider.

    __________________________________________

    To Verizon:

First of all, I don't need help. I send you just at this address because I have no idea who to send it to who would care. Last year, I bought a Blackberry Storm at Verizon Wireless and to this day, I hate it.

I'm just a lonely individual (NOT corporate) and by looking for any kind of help, I determined as soon as they don't care unless it is company.

I have all the typical problems of the Blackberry plus many other problems. Some problems have been on the Forum and never resolved.

Here are the problems that continue with my phone:

-Constantly having to pull the battery to recover memory.

-Battery requires a draft because of many blockages.

-Request for changing the settings of Blackberry have nothing change.

-Alerts such as alarms and applications ringing with no way to silence (all ALERTS OFF).

-Voice dialing does not recognize name if the contacts name.

    -Applications to the daily updates.

    -office takes forever to connect.

-office says that it is a necessary kernel update that cannot be selected for the update.

-No way to search in the calendar.

-Too little Blackberry allows applications to exist on the device.

-Phone OS has never had an update to fix anything (that I know).

    -Touch is impossible!

Again, I DO NOT ask for help. I want someone to know RIM, why I, like many other non-corporate people, will move to the iPhone when my contract on the Blackberry is up this coming June. If RIM maintains this, companies will soon do the same.

    Hello Bashman40

Welcome to the Forums of the BlackBerry Support

If possible, do not look at or try to update your BlackBerry Bold 9700 to any higher OS like OS6, 5 operating system will offer a response good camera and will experience no problems as a memory device to trolling or freezing. You can search this forum and you will find that most user who has installed the OS6 on there Bold 9700 finally must downgrade to OS5 because Bold 9700 don't have enough memory

But still, if you want to update let us know.

  • Management of saved messages blackBerry Smartphones

Once I saved a message, can I take it back to my Inbox?  Is there another way to move the messages saved in my outlook on my computer?

If you are on BIS you can't move messages

BIS - BlackBerry Internet Service = e-mail service provided by the respective carrier. AT & T, Verizon, T-Mobile, Rogers, etc, etc...

BES - BlackBerry Enterprise Server = email service provided by a server managed by a company. For example, by your employer...

  • Updates the password account Email to blackBerry Smartphones

First of all, why should I update my password of e-mail on my 8330?  It's pretty freakin annoying.

Secondly, where the hell is this page on this site?

    AH, Hotmail.

Yes, it is a requirement of Hotmail (and curse) that you update your password every 90 days, I think.

You must visit the page where you have activated and set up your hotmail account to push to your BlackBerry.

On your device, which would be in the installation wizard. Since you don't specify your carrier, I can't direct you to that specific, but this link on your PC, you can find and select your carrier.
