Updated for FireFox 11 and I keep getting "compatibility check Add-on" when I launch the browser.
I've just updated to FireFox 11 and whenever I run the browser, I get this annoying window that checks for compatibility of modules.
I looked for solutions and have tried the following:
1 remove several extension files in the profile folder.
2 returning to about: config to disable the extension: checkcompatibility (is not here).
None of them worked.
Have you tried to delete the prefs.js file?
What security (firewall, antivirus) software do you have?
Some security software has features of virtualization that can cause protection problems and restoring files in the Firefox profile folder.
I loaded the new update for Firefox today and received a message from 'need to reboot to complete the installation'. However, even after restarting several times the update does not load and he always invites me to restart my computer.
The update does not load, and I can't "remove" program to my computer and reload as the same (needs to restart to complete the installation) error message keeps appearing even after several reboots.
Do a cleaning (re) install and delete the folder of the program Firefox (C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\).
Download a new copy of Firefox and save the file to the desktop.
- Firefox 8.0.x: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all.html
Uninstall your current version of Firefox if possible.
- Do not remove the data of a personal nature when you uninstall the current version or you lose your bookmarks and other data in the profile folder.
Delete the program folder Firefox before installing newly downloaded copy of the Firefox installer.
- It is important to remove the Firefox program folder to delete all the files and make sure that there is no problem with the files that were the remains after uninstallation.
Your bookmarks and other profile data stored in the Firefox profile folder and will not be affected by a relocation, but make sure that you do not select delete data of a personal nature if you uninstall Firefox.
is it possible to STOP firefox open a tab to perform a check of plugin, everytime I open the browser? I LIKE the version I have and find the additional delay caused by this to be quite frustrating
as stated in my opening 'Summary' sentence/question...i'm becomes more and more annoyed by an additional tab (plug-in check) opening whenever I open firefox... I have plug-in versions that I WANT and I DON'T want or don't need to push me to update or to change them whenever I opened a window of browser... I've searched and searched and so far I have found no way to prevent this and was really hoping that someone could provide me with firefox a method to stop intrusive loading page again and again...
I have uninstalled Viewpoint Media Player, that fixed my problem with tab plugincheck still of the opening. Viewpoint Media Player is responsible for the plugin called "MetaStream 3 Plugin r4", and I think this plugin is the outbreak of Firefox to open the plugincheck page. It is not enough to disable the plugin, it must be uninstalled.
Since it seems that you do not have the "Plugin for MetaStream 3', it may be that some other plugin is at the origin tab plugincheck opened pop. Try to go to (menu) tools-> Add-ons-> Plugins. See the list of plugins and see if any of them have an icon of red warning next to them. If one of the plugins has a red warning icon, it may be responsible for the outbreak of the opening of the plugin tab. Try to uninstall this plugin, or upgrade to a newer version.
When I click on the red x to close the browser, when I come back to open the browser later, the last page I look at one. last session opens, even all the other tabs behind it, instead of my google page (my homepage)? This can be fixed) I know I just click on the word google in the search bar, but should not have to do!
You can provide us with some troubleshooting information, we can help you better then
or you can try to reset Firefox:
Firefox - modules to reset and refresh settings
Previously when I install this exact same lighting animation overload Add-ons some time ago, it worked fine so I change the appearance of something which is not animated and after some time, I change to another animation APNG - Sasuke Uchiha 2 modules and discovered this problem so I thought is that this problem of the add-on and decided to try turning overload Add-ons to see if it is moving, or have the same problem , but it has the same problem, then is not the problem of the modules more.
Hello, Conson, firefox is not supporting animated themes (formerly called "persona") more for performance reasons - as a solution you can install the addon following with the theme of a character that is installed: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/personas-shuffler
I just got a new macbook pro that I allocated GB 401 on my bootcamp for windows xp partition, and I put Photoshop CS3 (windows version) on this partition, which about 80-90 GB is used while the rest is space free space. I also put my photo on this partition folders/files, and when I run the Photoshop application, I get this dialog box when I click on 'File' > 'Browse' (see image).
When I launched photoshop on my old laptop (HP Compaq Presario X 6000 running Windows XP) I've never had this kind of message - is something wrong
How can I do if I don't get this message?
Here are the specs of my macbook pro:
Model name: MacBook Pro
Model identifier: MacBook Pro5, 3
Processor name: Intel Core 2 Duo
Processor speed: 3.06 GHz
Number of processors: 1
Total number of cores: 2
How can I paste my messages from another forum on my posts here? (Frustrated).
It does not properly detect some most likely SSE extensions, but don't let it stop you. It's just a side effect of computers becoming too recent for 3 year old software. Even if in strictly technical terms, there would be a performance degradation, reinforced specs of the newest processors would more than make up for it...
My firefox will not update to the new trim elegant looking for new firefox. I still have the title at the top of the firefox page at the top, then all files at the top, then tab, then new browser arrow and address.
Why it won't be updated?
should I uninstall and reinstall?
Make a right click on a box next to open tabs, hide the Favorites bar and the menu bar, and then select the tabs on top.
I am running Windows 7 and have / has done to update various 4 betas/release final candidate. Have tried using various engines without success. I am able to conduct the initial search, the results are displayed, impossible to open links and lose all the features in freezing cause navigation.

You have McAfee Site Advisor installed, which increases because of problems especially with Google. If you try to disable it to see if Firefox works. Alternatively, you can try to install the latest version (3.3.1) of the Site Advisor, one has to work.
Mozilla plan on blocking older versions of McAfee Site Advisor Firefox 4 due to the problems they cause.
I missed an update. How to do it?
I just upgraded my Firefox to version 9.0.1, I get multi-page opening now when I launch my browser. A page is my home page, another is welcome to Firefox, and the other is my LassPass. Can anyone tell my why this is happening?

Create a new profile as a test to see if your profile is the source of the problems.
See "basic troubleshooting: a new profile:
There may be extensions and plugins installed by default in a new profile, so check that in "tools > Modules > Extensions & Plugins" in case there are still problems.
If this new profile works then you can transfer files from the old profile to the new profile, but make sure not to copy corrupted files.
Since the update to the beta version of Firefox 8 I can't print the web page by using the print icon in the toolbar or by using a file, print or preview before printing. I check everywhere, but couldn't find a solution.
Problems printing web pages
Check and tell if its working.
I have a Toshiba Portege M700 Tablet and with the truesuite software on a fingerprint reader and password Bank plugin.
It's all working fine and dandy with firefox 2.
Then last night I went and updated for firefox 3 and now I can't log in to Web sites with the fingerprint reader.
No error messages, nothing. I can say that the truesuite or Bank password software is not detecting firefox 3. I've updated to the latest version that I could find, 184.108.40.206.
I found this thread by telling me the process of update of firefox it breaks and I should completely uninstall and reinstall firefox, which I did.
That didn't fix it.
Then I completely uninstalled and reinstalled truesuite. That did not help either.
Its still broken.
Anyone know a workaround or a way to fix this, or should I wait and see if there is an updated version of the password database? (I find it unlikely because this isn't really a standard program)
I think that the new Firefox version is not fully tested and possibly it s not completely compatible with the 3rd party applications.
I remember the same problems with older versions of firefox. Finally, it has been resolved.
But why you don t use internet explore? As far as I know the fingerprint works without a problem
In any case if you want to continue to use the browser firefox 3 so I think that the only solution is to wait for an update.
I had just recently updated for Firefox 4 and as soon as it finished downloading I tested and that he saw that he changed my 127.0.0.1 proxy settings. I changed it to "Not of Proxy", but when I close and return back on the Internet, the Proxy settings are changed to the number of localhost. I used AVG and Malewarebytes scan my computer from infection and found none. Anyone know what is happening?
Some extensions like the Assistant Microsoft .NET Framework installed worldwide and cannot be disabled and not uninstalled in Firefox.
To disable the extensions to solve your problem?
If this does not work in mode without failure, then disable all extensions and then try to find out who is the cause by allowing both the problem reappears.
- Choose "Disable all add-ons" on issues to troubleshoot Firefox in Safe Mode to set window to disable all extensions.
- Close and restart Firefox after each change through "file > exit ' (Mac: ' Firefox > leave";) Linux: "file > exit ')
Yesterday, I posted my emails from my hotmail account seem to come in batches to my Curve 8330. Someone suggested that the problem was due to MS Messenger running on my computer. That makes sense, so I considered resolved thread. Unfortunately, the same thing occurs still even after I Quit Messenger. Now I realize that my e-mails only get pushed to my BB, when I use the browser on my phone. Is there a setting I can adjust?
In situations of this kind, it would be useful to post again this same thread, so that we can follow the previous suggestions.
However, do the following on your BlackBerry:
1. options > advanced > host Routing Table > Menu > register.
2 send your service from your carrier's BIS site books.
3. with the BlackBerry device powered time, remove battery for a few seconds and then reinsert the battery to restart
4. dial * 228 on your device.
Downloaded the update for Firefox, and now I can't get rid of AOL. I tried to remove anything that is related to AOL and when restart Firefox... There are once again AOL. I even reinstalled Firefox... He was there again.
Where AOL is displayed - homepage?
I think the first thing to check is if you have any modules related to AOL. These can replace your regular settings. You can view and disable all extensions essential or unknown here:
Firefox orange (or the Tools menu) button > addons > Extensions category
Note that in most cases, you should use the link to restart Firefox to actually disable the extension that you have chosen to disable.
Then, to fix your homepage, try the procedure described in this article: How to set the home page.
If there is a problem with your suppliers of research from Google for AOL, try this extension:
