Updated iPhoto help

Recently set up my daughter with a new (used) 13 "Air.   I managed the Migration of his ancient white MacBook very well but when I went to start iPhoto on the Air, he said that I had to upgrade the software... ok, enough just... but now, Air (running 10.10.5) says there need an older version of iPhoto before I could upgrade to a newer version... I went to Apple and tried to install iPhoto 9.4.3, then I tried 9.1, then I tried 8.1... can't seem to do it. Of course, there is an older version of iPhoto on the Air coming through the Migration Wizard from the old MacBook white... but I can't start this version because it does not work under 10.10.5... so now what?

I don't mind having to re - import the original iPhoto library, but I need iPhoto on the FIRST news of Air... HOW DO I DO THAT?

Thank you

Mac OS X 10.10.3 and newer include Photos, which is designed as a replacement for iPhoto. If you want to go on the use of iPhoto in addition to or instead of switch to Photos, click here and try following the instructions; you will only be able to do if you got before where associated with iPhoto on the Mac App store.
