  Usually we recommend that you use the latest version because it would include all later versions and patches for it. Uninstall the old version would not cause any problem.

  Try to uninstall the old version - it is not necessary.  An upgrade is a product independent and fully functional.

  Firefox can always run in the background. This happens sometimes. I suggest that you try to restart your computer, and then try to uninstall the old version. Alternatively, you can try to right click on the task bar, then opening the Task Manager. This will show you the list of processes currently running on your computer. If Firefox is running, you can manually kill the process.

• Why, after update plug-ins by the system of firefox [specifically adobe acrobat 10.1.4.38] it does not recognize it and says I need to update?

  This happened on & off for a while. I tried updating via firefox, uninstall and update in acrobat and firefox. He says updating but the version does not change and cannot find any evidence, he did. Even uninstall always reinstalled 10.1.4.38 - the same version that I've had since started using firefox.
  Also, today I updated 'Shockwave Flash' at the same place & update says it still need to be updated (don't remember which version he says), but I had disabled Shockwave for Director "." When I gave the update kept saying to update Flash.

  Hi Uptown22, I guess you tried to restart Windows to see if the Adobe Reader update ends after a restart, or if the update from Adobe works best when the system has just been restarted and that you did not start Firefox or any other program that could use Adobe files. If this isn't the case, you might want to try it.

  If you check on Adobe Reader or Adobe Acrobat in your Adobe product, which version actually installed?

  If you have a version higher than 10.1.4:

  Search many PDF plugins on your system might try either of the following:

  • full search of drive C for nppdf32.dll (be sure to search in hidden folders) - you need to check the version properties to determine if they meet your true version
  • Secunia PSI (free for use on non-professional computers): http://secunia.com/vulnerability_scanning/personal/ - will find obsolete plugins and in its advanced mode show you the location on disk

  mspohr, you are using a version of Firefox 24.0? or a build ESR which is currently based on 24.0 as 24.4.0 or the current moment 24.5.0 update that came out when 29,0 made. Versions of Firefox 24 esr will not update to a current version, because they are on separate channels.

  Adobe not all Addons are compatible with the default CC 2014. You must make reference to the page of each add-on on the Addons (creative.adobe.com/addons) site to find the compatibility window (top right), which will describe the versions of Photoshop that the add-on will work with.

• In 22 FF, both 'platform Java SE 7 U25 10.25.2.17' and "SE 7 U5 10.5.1.255" are listed in plug-ins, and the older 'SE 7 U5"has a warning. Why 2 versions?

Yet. the old 'vulnerable' version remains in the list of plugins. I even tried to 'disable' the old version, but it has simply disabled the two versions. Is the most recent version (U25 7), in fact safe, even if I can get rid of the old version? The thing is, I am not sure if the sites I need to visit have to use Java or not. As the Bank. And if I have to completely uninstall Firefox, how to keep all my settings, passwords, bookmarks, etc.?

  Try to delete the pluginreg.dat file in the Firefox profile folder and perhaps as well to reset addons.sqlite the plugin registry data bases.

  I tried to download and install a new version of the BIOS (F.26, June 2014) after having a few problems with the laptop heating and freezing programs. Download details indicated that it was highly recommended.

  I tried today and the system has shown that it was already installed. I looked at C drive and it shows under bin SWSetup\sp66805\0183AF26. I have no idea what it means. It shows a date of 17/06/16 as installed. I looked into this for a while, but I know that I have not installed it.

  I do not understand why information system still shows: version of BIOS Insyde F.25, 29/05/2013 if it is supposed to have been updated.

  I understand that your Bios has updated but still showing the old version, with your HP Pavilion g7-2017us Notebook. I'm happy to help you!

  It is very strange, as the updates only I see available in the Software and Driver Downloads page were dated 1 March 2016.

  For now, I recommend to go through the steps in this guide, updated the BIOSand let me know what happens!

  If it still shows paper jam and you know that there is no paper, just turn it works, and it should realize that there is no paper.
