  • A updated Windows caused inconsistent Web Page loading

I have this problem have fought for about 7 months and feel now that this question may have some merit. On November of last year, I noticed that one of my records came to a point that a session on the internet would have on the same sequence of events on my ISP, different from search engines email account or another web browser outside of the Internet Explorer that I always used: web pages load normally for a period of shooting then the Green loading bar at the bottom of the page shows 50% completion & load entirely web page, then to the same bar of fine corresponding to 100%, but the web page is empty. At this point, I may be able to close the web page, but more often otherwise I have to use the Task Manager to end the session. Even after this point I couldn't access the internet unless the system has rebooted. I thought that not much in light of 6 years + of very intensive use, it was time to do a new install & really cut the number of programs installed and fragmented garbage.

The drive was wiped cleaned before anything was started. A firewall & antivirus updated were in place before any connection to the internet. All XP critical and recommended updates loaded first thing and installed. Minimal programs have been installed. DSL result same slowness.

I spent hours with my ISP support for any solution. My older router was suspected, so a newer version has been purchased. No change.

Then, my wife made a comment that its XP disc that she uses only for the printer on my desktop still works very well. I now widely used and it is not a fake. Wipe the disc again and done the same installation of all windows, as before, but duplicate updates install it software she has: no change. The only difference with his, is that no Windows Update were conducted on it for some time, as he was very low on disk space.

    Thank you

As it became very obvious that I was not to get more answers to my question, I found the solution through another forum by examining the response to slow down the loading of the web page. Log in Mode safe mode with networking privileges. Things will appear somewhat sluggish clicking around but that's ok. Begin to surf the internet. All my symptoms went away. In this case, Internet Explorer settings need to be reset & can be done using the Microsoft FIX - IT Site, charging to @ http://support.microsoft.com/kb/923737 . If it doesn't clear up the problem of IE and your computer is running slowly as well, this MS web page might be the solution: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/310353.

  • Failed to get whatever it is based on to update windows

    Hello

I recently had problems with windows update and many other things. Basically, it will not check the updates. When you click on check the updates, the Bar starts but remains stuck to the research. Then, I have also seen the basics of microsoft security did the same thing when you are trying to update. AVG free cannot install and I tried to install google chrome because I hate explore and he also failed due to the error of windows install. I tried manually install service pack 2 for windows, and it has also failed. Nothing to basic windows updates.

I first noticed it when I moved in with my girlfriend and began using his laptop. It's a decent laptop and the first thing that I noticed it was a bit lazy and I checked the CPU usage and one thing was hoarding 70% all the time. It was the windows error reporting, or something similar, I disabled it through systems, but nothing has changed. That's when I tried to update windows and he had 1 important upgrade and 2 in option I did. I remember one completed and 2 does not, according to me, and after the computer has restarted the updater has not worked at all.

I have tune up utilities, but it has not changed anything after we cleaned up various things. I also had one rid something malware for a free month of the trial with malwarebytes I think.

I've seen people talk about command prompts and cleaning records, but I can't make them work properly.

I do not get errors codes report which is also a problem because its still frozen on updates.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.]

    Thank you

    Hi neilawallace,

    1. did you of recent changes on the computer?

    2. what happened when you tried to install service pack?

    Method 1

This can occur if the Windows update components are corrupted on the computer. I suggest that reset you the default Windows Update components and check if you are able to install the updates.

    Method 2

You can also check if you are able to update the other program after placing the computer in a clean boot state.

It is possible that some third-party programs installed on the computer is causing the problem.

I suggest that you perform a clean boot and check.

To help resolve the error and other messages, you can start Windows Vista or Windows 7 by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

  • Update Windows stuck in a loop. Keeps trying to download page 3 of 3, but never does, then restarts and is trying to download. Can't seem to put an end to the loop.

Update Windows stuck in a loop. Keeps trying to download page 3 of 3, but never does, then restarts and is trying to download. Can't stop the loop to try something else.

The operating system is Windows Vista.

I found this as a solution and to share it here, I still have questions, but thinking might help someone.

Windows Vista and 7 update Reboot Loop Fix

Symptom: You have a update that is causing Windows Vista or Windows 7, stuck in an infinite loop. The problem usually manifests as a "step 3 of 3:0 % complete...". "followed by a restart which starts at the exact same message, not allowing you to get on your account of connection or a desktop at all. It's a pain, and he doesn't stop, even in Mode without failure or advanced trying last good known Configuration in the start menu.

Here is the short version for people who know how to get to tools to do this and if run System Restore from the installation DVD does not work: DELETE files

    \Windows\WinSxS\cleanup.XML AND (as applicable)

\Windows\WinSxS\pending.XML and the infinite loop update will be set.

There are two ways to get the files, you need to delete. The easiest is to start your installation of Windows and the button 'Install now' DVD, click on the link located at the bottom left that says 'Repair your computer' open a command prompt and type:

    del C:\Windows\WinSxS\cleanup.xml

    del C:\Windows\WinSxS\pending.xml

The other way is to download a live Linux distribution such as the System of Tritech Service (which, unlike Vista or 7 DVD, can be booted from a USB flash drive for computers with no CD/DVD drive such as netbooks), open a command prompt, mount the file system and deleting the files. Assuming that your Windows installation is the first partition on the first hard disk, the following commands in rxvt or a console in the Tritech Service system should work:

    Mount.NTFS - 3 g/dev/sda1/mnt/sda1

    RM /mnt/sda1/Windows/*/cleanup.xml /mnt/sda1/Windows/*/pending.xml

    umount/mnt/sda1

    discount to zero f

Anyway you do it, this solution will stop the engine update loop reboot and let you return to your computer. You may need to make some corrections, additional or manual updates if you have problems, but unless your login screen and/or the Office should be accessible! Is a very annoying problem and I noticed that Google is looking for things like "stage of vista 3 3 restart" usually only provides information about how to run the system on a Vista DVD restore. Unfortunately, if there is a problem with an update, sometimes the system restore does not work and fail with obscure errors, so this info is vital.

Maybe it's your last chance to avoid giving to the top and reinstalling Windows, and we always like avoiding relocations!

  • Update Windows shows about 100 updates important to apply. How would you recommend I do. I'm afraid to apply the patches to 100 at a time. Those who would be safer to start with? Thank you

The manufacturer has replaced the HD on my computer laptop 64 bit Windows 7.  Update Windows shows about 100 updates important to apply.  I can't find patches that I had previously applied in the list of applied hotfixes or patches to apply list.  I don't understand why this is.  How would you recommend I do.  I'm afraid to apply the patches to 100 at a time.  Those who would be safer to start with?

    Thank you

    Hello

I suggest you only begin to install the important updates (recommended) first and later if you want you can install optional updates. All Windows update are safe to install and it is important to install the update and recommended by Microsoft. It keeps your computer safer and your software current to date and if you want Windows to install important updates as they become available, turn on automatic updating. Important updates provide significant benefits, such as improved security and reliability. You can also set Windows to automatically install recommended updates, which can address non-critical problems and help enhance your computing experience. Optional updates are not downloaded or installed automatically.

    Hello

Check your level of service current pack...

    • Hold down the Windows (between Ctrl and Alt) key and press Pause break
    • Examine what is listed in the system: section

If there is no service pack designated first level you must download SP2 from...

    http://www.Microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?displaylang=en&ID=28

.. .and then run the downloaded program to install SP2.

Once you have done this, or if you were already in service pack 1, 1a or 2, then install SP3 by downloading and running from...

    http://www.Microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?displaylang=en&ID=24

For both of the above, you can ignore the text that says it's for network installations and also ignore the text advising windows/microsoft update if a single update of a PC.

So try and get up-to-date with the Windows updates.
