Updates do not download on Win XP SP3

I'm in a corporate environment, under Windows XP SP3 on about 30 machines.

All but two PC are downloading and installation of updates without any problem.
With two computers that don't update, they are the same as the others on the same network with the same configuration. When we try to run MS update, it downloads the first update successfully, and then fails with the rest, with Error 0x80072EFD (expire) code.
-J' tried to change the network cable and the network port.
-Windows Firewall is disabled
-Automatic updates are disabled
Any ideas?

I had the Choicepoint Virus a few weeks there and I think you, I took it. I reinstalled SP3 and got IE8 running. Taken from old CA antivirus program. used to get rid of all traces of Norton or Symantec removal tools. MSE installed and everything worked great until a few days ago. Virus definitions will not update (0x80072EFE). And windows update does not work at all (0x80072EFF). I tried to download them from the site manually, but when I click on the IE link is as I am not connected to the internet. Also, I've been to redirected findstuff.com and other search sites when I click on links in Bing. Thinking that I have a new bug. MSE wasn't able to spot it. Niether has Malwarebytes. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I have two Windows 7 computers with the same problem with updates.  One running Windows 7 Ultimate 32 bit and the other is running Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit.  Some updates will not download, so can not be installed, so that they remain in the list of important updates.  This caused me disable the automatic updates so that my computers block constaintly try to apply these updates.  The 64-bit version continues to try to get an update of Windows Live, but notes that it is the wrong version after downloading.  The 32-bit machine tried to download the same four updates for six months.  How can I make sure that these updates are really necessary and if not block software update offering these updates so that I can turn on automatic updates.  These attempts updates on my broadband connection should take ten minutes, not three hours.

  • Updates will not download and install - NO ERROR CODE - updates remain at 0%

    For Adobe Support.

I get the popup "update" whenever I connect to my computer and it gives me an error message but no code error. The update starts at 0% and stays there indefinitely.

It's VERY frustrating because on top of working 10 hours today, I have now lost another hour, trying in vain to find a solution.

By quitting their stand alone suite (CS5, 6 etc) and later support for it, Adobe has FORCED me to use their Cloud Creative suite subscription. While I HATE not being able to buy a standalone program, I like the CC Suite and I'm PAYING for this subscription that provides the latest updates. Now, all of a sudden the updates will not download and install and Adobe wants me to follow a set RIDICULOUSLY long and complicated steps to solve the problem? It's a complete and absolute nonsense!

I am a self-controlled, respectable and intelligent individual, but it makes me want to use profanity! I HAVE NO TIME FOR THIS NONSENSE.

According to the latest information (see: Adobe : Cloud accelerates since 3.4 million paid creative members |) ProDesignTools) there is over 3.4 million people like me PAY for reliable use!

Frankly, I'm so frustrated that I am very close to spearhead a national campaign to educate these users 3.4 million on the negligence of Adobe supported because it's visitors!

WE SHOULD NOT HAVE TO SOLVE THE PROBLEM! ADOBE NEEDS TO SOLVE THE PROBLEM! When you get this figured out, I'll certainly appreciate an e-mail from your. In the meantime. Be aware that each passing day, and whenever I see this pop up, it serves as a reminder that Adobe does not respect what they promised!

    Kind regards

  • Win XP pro SP3. Windows software update will not download

An accident on a Win XP PC ruinning legacy backup/restore S/W had failed. (3rd party stuff).  Installed a Virgin of Windows XP Pro SP3 (32-bit) on a new blank HD.  Connected, activated Windows.  It worked.  Tried to run Windows Update.  A clean installation is the first thing that update is download the Windows Updater S/W so we can understand what you need.  That the download failed.  Me hunting to a page that says nothing specific about why it did not work and gave me some links to try to solve the problem.  Follow the links and has begun to try stuff.  Some links are broken.  Find a suggestion to update IE ver 6 to ver 8.  Downloaded IE8.  only IE Ver 8 worked and updated.  Does not solve the problem of Windows Updater download.  I tried Fix - it.  He has ran, said he fixed some files, any info on what it fixes.  Does not solve the problem of Windows Updater download.  Found a few references to run a .bat file to rename files, a .bat file to force certain registry entries.  No one who has solved the problem of Windows Updater download.  Found several threads to download "iuctl.cab.  Each of these links has more, with a 404 error.  Never found the .cab.

Win XP support ends soon and I need to get a clean update on this legacy machine.  Where should I go from here?

There is a known issue with Windows Update that address priority before you visit Windows Update

Manually download and install the latest cumulative security update for IE8 and restart before

visit windows update via the shortened link in your Start menu.

When you have Win XP SP3 and IE8, it will be the necessary file

It often happens that the installation of SP3 will break the windows update feature by not properly installing the windows update agent.  An older version of the windows update agent can be downloaded and saved in the C directory and installed by an execution command.

Windows update agent is available during one of the linked pages

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/943144

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/946928

    Start > run > C:\WindowsUpdateAgent30-x86.exe /wuforce

For the 64-bit version, change the command run 86 read 64

In the alternative, there is a troubleshooting tool that can work to accomplish the same thing

A reboot is probably a good idea after each intervention.

Now connect to windows update manually through your browser using the shortcut in the start menu link and your chances are better that it will work.

When the latest version of windows and to connect to Windows Update will detect the old version of Windows update agent installed update agent will be installed after consenting to the ActiveX installation.  It will be the first thing that happens when connecting to Windows update if things continue normally.

If there are still problems with Windows update try this utility.

It is the #25 element in the repair tool to be implemented.

  • Why Search KB940157 4.0 will not work on Win XP SP3. In addition, impossible to install any update more.

Research program in the original installation of Win XP SP3 caused the computer to freeze if the search engine has been expanded.   So I downloaded and installed Search 4.0.  It seems that works do not exactly the same.  IF I do not enlarge the window, it doesn't seem to work, but any change in the size of the window causes hang up immediately on the computer.  Must pull on the supply cord to recover.

Currently, the update process hangs up with 35 updates of uninstalled "high priority" pending, which apparently will install not until the (s) that failed is installed, if my machine seems totally non upgradable...!

That seems to relate to programs of the .NET Framework.  Remove all would fix them this...?  What I would lose without .NET programs installed...?

    Hello

What is the error message accurate/complete you receive the Windows Update issue?

Depending on the issue with Windows search:

    Method 1:

Step 1: Check in safe mode

You can also check if the problem persists in safe mode.

    Reference:

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/start-your-computer-in-safe-mode

If you are able to see the start icon, then executes the method 2.

Step 2: Perform a clean boot and check.

To help resolve the error message, you can start Windows Vista or Windows 7 by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

  • Windows update is not download and install Service Pack 1, 2 3

Did a fresh install of Vista 32 bit Home Premium on Acer Extensa 4420. After repeatedly run Win Update and installation of more than 60 update updates said that I was aware. HOWEVER, SP - 1 was not detected as missing but was necessary for the other software work. I found SP-1 and installed manually. Now Win Update refuses to download Service Pack 2, so of course it also doesn't download Service Pack 3.

Why is Win defective Update and do not install it no matter what Service Packs?

Do I have to manually install SP2 & SP-3 or should I wait until I discovered problems or get a virus or another bad thing because Win Update did not bother to run properly?

  • LabVIEW 2010 will not install on Win XP SP3

I have made several attempts to install LabVIEW 2010 on Win XP SP3. I already have LabVIEW 2009 installed and working.

On each attempt, I accept the default installation options and do not put in a serial number. The first attempt got stuck at 2% full and has not changed for 30 minutes. No error message. I canceled the installation and tried to install it again from setup.exe.

The next two attempts to stall at 0% blinking forever. The 4th attempt made in 18% entered at a standstill for more than 30 minutes. The next two attempts is stagnating at 0% repeating and not cancel. I had to end it with the Task Manager.

Why it not install LabVIEW 2010 without stalling until 30 minutes? Why it not spit an error instead of just stalling? How can I know why he moved?  How should I do?

I finally got to LabVIEW 2010 to install.

I didn't have a corrupted download. I didn't disable my antivirus. I didn't have a lot of processes running. I turned off my computer last night and I tried the setup.exe again this morning first thing. Maybe running LabVIEW 2009 yesterday before installation left something that the installation did not like. Who knows?

How is the installation of LabVIEW 2010 would just stall for long periods (more than 30 minutes, maybe forever) without any error message or progress?

LabVIEW has a Setup log that I could look into these situations to see where the installation is suspended up to and perhaps why?
