Updates keep breaking my modules

I really HATE the updated calendar that Firefox has been on the last year. You push new versions too fast. I don't like being hassled to install the latest version, and I hate that when I do, I never know what Add on will break. The main reason I use Firefox is for the ons Add tens I customize with. I won't be on this crazy race. I want to have a stable version and stick with it for a long time! You not doing me a favor by pressing the new versions as soon as you do. Go back to the old update schedule.

The most recent breakup was V22 break more development of Reddit. I know already what you say, you say that this is the author of the add-on which has the responsibility to take the modules to work with new versions of Firefox. Well, I don't care! Whenever you press a new version for me, something useful I rely on breaks. Stop it!

I'll tell you the same thing I say Micro$ oft: "the operating system is not the final product, the software is the final product. Work of the OS should be an environment to run the software. "Well, if you realize this, Firefox is an OS for the Add-ons that make Firefox as well a browser as it is. Without the Add-ons, I may as well use IE or Chrome. Is that what you want? Without the Add-ons, the only thing I can do with Firefox that I can't do with IE or Chrome is rearrange the menu bars and tool of the way I like them.

I'll also tell you what I say Adobe: "stop with all the updates. Get your products to a stable version of patch for bugs and STOP! "I look forward to the day that I don't have a Flash, Shockwave, or reader. It will be three products less nagging me to update, or have to be updated because some site uses the latest version. I regularly use 3 to 4 computers. As soon as I see the update nag for one, I know I'm going to be harassed on other institutions. I fear!

Do you really want your users to worry about using your product as much as we fear using Adobe products? Do you really want Firefox with 'Ugh, another update? I've just updated! »

Moreover, it is not easy to find connection with previous versions of Firefox. I installed v22 and he broke out as a result of development of Reddit. I looked on your website for the previous version, and I got a condescending Q & a page saying "you can downgrade, but it will not solve your problem." Well, I demoted v21, and you know what? It fixed my problem! But... I had to Google "Firefox 21" to find the download.

Why do you treat me like the enemy? Micro$ oft treats me as the enemy. Adobe treats me like the enemy. Apple, (you know what, lets not even talk about Apple! I just ate.)

Firefox used to be a glimmer of hope. Please get off this upgrade cycle, before the light goes out!

Thank you

Michael Lashinsky

  • Windows Update keeps trying to install K2686828 and KB2656369.

Windows Update keeps trying to install K2686828 and KB2656369.  Whenever I tells me the installation succeeds only to ask again to update.  I tried the fix - it solutions, and they have not corrected the problem.  Also, I did a virus scan and found nothing.  All my other updates were installed without problem.

This problem is related to the MSI registration information inconsistancies.  I was able to fix by using a cmd "msiexec /i {C09FB3CD-3D0C-3F2D-899A-6A1D67F2073F} ADDLOCAL = ALL/l * v % temp%\repairLog.txt.  At the end of this process, the two installed normally KB and I have now no critical updates in the meantime.  I noticed that article 917964 described a situation where IE would not work if the repairs were made the xp without removal of IE8 or IE 7 first.  My IE 8 works fine.  By 917964, "before you perform a repair of Windows XP installation, you must uninstall Windows Internet Explorer 7 or Windows Internet Explorer 8 of the Windows XP computer.". If you perform a repair of Windows XP installation, when a later version of Internet Explorer is still installed, Internet Explorer does not once the repair is complete. »
