  I'm having exactly the same problem on the iMac, I've recently upgraded to El Capitan and tried all the same possible solutions, you have (with the same results without success).  Two updates of El Capitan (10.11.1 and 10.11.2), my only solution both times was to reboot in Recovery Mode, and then reinstall El Capitan (including updates).  Unfortunately, this does not work for the "El Capitan Recovery Update 1.0' which is still showing as available on the App Store update.  Also, it did not for the latest version of iTunes, which I had to download and reinstall the latest version of iTunes completely to get it updated.

  In any case, I hope that someone comes up with a solution to this problem, as it's getting quite annoying.
